A classic nine meter Blackfin sportfishing cruiser titled m/y Pacific Time went ablaze as it was berthed on pier two of Cabo San Lucas Marina, Cabo San Lucas, in Baja California Sur, Mexico at 16:00 of Wednesday seventh August. Local boaters and marina personnel tended to the blaze first, that is until the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cabo San Lucas came to the scene with the barco bombero Neptune 114 and contained the fire. No one was injured in the fire as the boat was reported unattended, with this sustaining damage to about 25% of its structure.
M/y Pacific Time is a classic Blackfin 32 Sportfisherman as produced from 1980 up to 1991 to a design of Carl Jannace. Blackfin was founded by Carl Herndon, an ex Bertram manager, with the 32 Sporfishman being its first model, which was followed by the 29 Flybridge three years later. The 32 Sportfisherman was based on the Maritimer 9.6, with Blackfin buying and updating the moulds.
