Sanlorenzo Improve Ranking

The American magazine Showboats International published the annual world builders superyacht classification (yachts over 80 feet, 24 meters), called Global Order Book, based on the planned number of orders and constructions for every shipyard and the summed lengths of the yachts. Sanlorenzo improves his ranking to the 3rd place, behind Ferretti Group (with his 5 brands, Ferretti Yachts, Custom Line, Crn, Pershing, Riva) and Azimut-Benetti group (with his 2 brands Azimut Yachts and Benetti). It is important to notice, beside the positioning, that Sanlorenzo elencated in 2010 classification 38 hulls for a total length of 4.085 feet, while in 2011 maintain the same level of orders with 37 units and a total length of 3.898 feet. Sanlorenzo keeps maintaining the same level of orders for all its fleet. Very different is the scenario of the first and the second. In 2010 the first was the Azimut-Benetti group with 112 hulls for a total length of 13.063 feet and Ferretti Group was second with 109 hulls for 11.332 feet. In 2011 Ferretti Group orders, even though leader, fell down to 76 hulls for 7.877 feet, while Azimut-Benetti dropped to second place with 67 orders for 7.828 feet. Both cases dropped over the 30%. Even Sunseeker, that from the third place of the last year drops to fifth in 2011, from 52 orders for 4.912 feet to 31 orders for 3.248 feet, with a decrease of around 40%. As far as the other competitors are concerned, Rizzardi and Couach disappear. With so much surprise enters in the classification the new-born Overmarine Baglietto Pisa group that declares 25 hulls. It seems instead that the number of hulls for all the three brands is lower. The market will really face in the next months the real evolution of this situation. The important nothern shipyards keep their positions, as Lürssen with 9 hulls for 2.536 feet, instead of 9 hulls for 2.614 feet of the last year, Feadship with 12 hulls for 2.536 feet compared to 13 hulls for 2.523 feet of 2010, and the Italian Perini Navi with 9 hulls for 1.555 feet instead of 11 hulls for 1.816 feet of last year. Sanlorenzo proves itself as one of the most stable and strengthened operator in the superyacht field and can praise and extraordinary performance for the 2011 too. Sanlorenzo can be considered, as production solidity and for the high level of customization even for medium size yachts, comparable to the biggest and most famous shipyards of the northern Europe that builds giant superyachts and bucks for being, in the world scenario, the referential south Europe shipyard for quality, customization, market stability and reliability.

Arno Leopard starts in 1973 but the story starts in 1907 when Giuseppe Picchiotti and Sons is founded on the limits of the Arno River.  Picchiotti is according to historical data a family which is part of Italy and Tuscany's naval history since the sixteenth century when Grand Duke Cosimo I dei Medici develops the Navicelli canals in order to make transport of goods to Pisa and Livorno easier and faster, with a 1575 document showing Picchiotti as a shipwright on the Arno river.  Apart Arno Leopard, Picchiotti is an important name in the Italian yachting scene after World War Two, from the actual Picchiotti of Viareggio, to 1972 founded Tecnomarine of Filippo, and the eighties Bluemarine from Paolo.  In 1935 Raffaello, Alessandro, Lorenzo and Nello, the sons of Giuseppe Picchiotti rename the yard to Cantieri Navali Arno.  Up till the sixties Cantieri Navali Arno will help and be part of the Picchiotti family boat building linage helping out in the various internal and international governments commissioned builds. During World War Two Cantieri Arno suffers the total destruction of the yard, burned down to the ground by the German army.  Following the war and with help from the US Government Cantieri Navali Arno is rebuild.  In the sixties Cantieri Arno is part of the Picchiotti from Viareggio, helping in the building of some of the successful semi-production wood cruisers and yachts models which debuts in 1955 with the Versilia and will end twelve models later and the 68 in 1975.  Arno will become a separate entity from Picchiotti in 1973 when it presents its first Leopard 15mt model as designed by Paolo Caliari, which coincides with the shipyard signing an exclusive sales agreement with Gerard Rodriguez.  Paolo Caliari will go to design all the Leopard models till his retirement; totalling elven models and finishing with the 26 MY model which launched in 2000.  In 1984 Arno Leopard launches its first fiberglass yacht, the Sport 19, with the prototype of this model build in aluminium.  The Leopard Sport 19 along with it's evolutions the Sport 20 and Sport 21.50, will prove very important for Arno, also because when launched the 20 was the largest sport yacht ever produced. The new millennium sees the production yard move to a bigger nine covered sheds establishment, with easier sea connection for the bigger yachts, and Andrea Bacigalupo a Caliari pupil taking the task of continuing the family feeling in the Leopard designs from 2004. In 2008 after 28 years of cooperation, Arno cancels the exclusive sales agreement with South of France based Rodriguez Group.  Arno Leopard current range features two lines Composite and Steel, and starts from the 32 M up to the still in project 56 M. Its latest model is the 2010 launched 43 M. The new Arno website is available in Italian and English language and takes you around with the following buttons; Company, Shipyard, Yachts Range, Service, Preowned, Charter Club, and and Contacts.

Improve-it = Queens Yachts 72

Queens Yachts presented an unedited version of its current largest build 72 model with a unique black hull color. This improved 72 also featured modifications to the windows; in the owner mid ship located stateroom, and to the lower ones of the coach roof now being of a more clean profile. For the rest the Queens 72 designed by architect Alessandro Inno from Ino Group featured the same four cabin layout, and elegant clean lines. The lower deck plan of the Queens 72 is pretty alternative for a 21 meter sport yacht offering four cabins with one of the guest rooms located aft, and having among the most spacious owners stateroom in this size. A two crew cabin with L-shaped bunks is also located aft to starboard. Power is from twin MTU 1200hp with standard line shaft propulsion.

New Model: Tryvia 1300 GT Hardtop

In the recent years we have seen many builders from the large corporations to the small family owned companies trying to re-invent the wheel of a motor boat. That means presenting a new hull design which offers a hybrid way, joining displacement and planning characteristics of going onto the water. Tryvia with the new 1300 GT Hardtop present the first planning steel build motor boat. A Dutch family owned company, Tryvia builds about five boats per year, and the new 1300 GT Hardtop patented Speed Technology hull, is the result of four years of testing using two prototype models to produce the first planning steel built motor boat. Basically the 1300 GT Hardtop while not being a speed demon is able to cruise faster then other steel build similar cruisers and yachts, and can go even upstream in greater safety against a river tide. Inside the 1300 GT Hardtop will have an owners room to fore peak, and a convertible saloon in the living main deck. Power is a single economic to run and service Steyr 280hp engine.

Carson Buddy Davis Jnr 1949 - 2011

Carson R. "Buddy" Davis Jr., who designed and built Carolina-style sportfishing boats from 28 to 78 feet, died Monday at his home on Monday January 17 in Marathon, Fla., after a lengthy illness, at age 62. A native of Manteo, N.C., Davis was the son of Carson Ralph Davis and "Nonnie" Etheridge Davis, and the sister of Anne Davis Creef. Davis' boats were designed and built mainly under two companies: Davis Boat Works, which he founded in 1973, and Davis Yachts, which he formed in the mid 1980s. During his 45 year boating career, Davis built some 400 yachts. Master at capturing the Carolina look, Davis designed and built boats togather with Donald Blount that were known for their sharp entries and dramatic bow flare. His hull designs were all about function, but Davis also brought a level of luxury to the sportfishing boat that had not been seen before. Davis leaves his hife Barbara; daughter the Hon. Amber Davis, his son Carson Wade Davis who works at Spencer Yachts; his former wife, Elaina Davis; and two stepsons, Tres Midgett, and Matthew Midgett.

New Model: Kadey-Krogen 48 AE

Kadey-Krogen presents the new 48 AE to its fleet of full displacement trawler style explorer yachts, set to launch in the coming Trawler Fest in Fort Lauderdale and the Miami show. In deciding what to name the successor to the venerable 48 North Sea should be, Kadey-Krogen chose the AE designation as an abbreviation for Advanced Ergonomics, the underlying theme in this new offering. Like every Kadey-Krogen yacht for the past 20 years, the 48 AE is being built at Asia Harbor Yacht Builders in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Hull number 48050 will be the first in the AE series. Like all Kadey-Krogens, the 48 AE features a fully covered aft deck multi-purpose space. Moving forward through the welded aluminum weather tight doors, one immediately begins to notice the Advanced Ergonomic nature of the design. To starboard there is either an L or U-shaped settee along with a table that both expands, raises and lowers so it can perform the dual functions of coffee table or a dining table for eight. To port there is room for two full-sized chairs as well as a clear pathway to the galley and beyond. Forward and to starboard the large 48 AE galley features a four burner range, household size refrigerator/freezer, convection microwave and room for both a trash compactor and dishwasher. In addition to the abundance of storage in the galley, there is a nearly floor-to-ceiling pantry opposite on the port side. Moving up to the pilothouse, the Advanced Ergonomics concept really begins to take hold; here owners will find steps. Real, wide and deep steps like in a house with a rock solid banister for safety. The pilothouse on the 48 AE has been completely redesigned to accommodate side-by-side helm chairs as well as a larger electronics console. The ergonomic theme continues through the pilothouse portside welded aluminum weather tight door to the boat deck and flybridge via molded steps, again with a handrail for safety. The boat deck is large enough to accommodate both a thirteen foot tender as well as a summer kitchen. On the flybridge, the helm with enough room for two helm chairs is off to starboard with an L-shaped settee to port that extends the entertainment space of the boat and makes cruising on the flybridge more comfortable for guests. Owners will have a choice of two or three cabin arrangements with the master being forward to maximize natural light and ventilation. The starboard cabin on both arrangements has a dedicated desk allowing this cabin to double as an office. Two heads are standard, each with a separate stall shower. While the advanced ergonomics are the cornerstone of the 48 AE, they are certainly not the only highlight. There will be bright but efficient LED lighting both inside, outside, and the running lights. The temperature in the engine room, machinery space is also to be controlled by two axial fans with moisture eliminators which will provide an abundant supply of dehumidified air to the single 201hp John Deere engine. Range is over 3,000 miles at an economic 7 knots.

Improve-it = Pershing 115

Hull Number nine of the 35 metre 115 model, flagship of Pershing a brand of the Ferretti Group which is among the main international producers of high performance open motor yachts of 15 to 35 metres, launched on the 12th January at Marina dei Cesari in Fano. The official launching ceremony of Pershing 115 was carried out in the presence of the company management, the ship owner’s representative, and the main local authorities. Pershing 115 is a super sport yacht representing an authentic stylistic evolution, characterized by tortuous but decisive external lines with extraordinary performance. Realized through the collaboration of the staff of Pershing, architect Fulvio De Simoni, Advanced Yacht Technology, and Centro Stile of the Ferretti Group team of architects and designers. Since launched in 2004 Pershing 115 has won good acknowledgments as it best embodied the style of the brand in terms of the richness of detail, the use of valuable materials and innovation in the external shape which creates new spaces below deck. The flagship of the Pershing fleet boasts of four cabins; owner suite and three guest suites, which can sleep a total of nine people, and three crew rooms with five beds. A distinctive feature of every Pershing 115 is the personalisation that contributes in making the flagship of the fleet a unique product, varying from one model to another and which can be customized according to the owner’s needs. Particularly, the latest hull nine model distinguishes itself for its shiny white pearl coloured hull, a distinctive feature of the new Pershing models, donating luminosity and Energy to the vessel profile. Inside, the main hall has been renovated up to the finest details but its characteristic layout with a banded coal French window at the stern, which separates the cockpit from the main hall, has been kept. The large cockpit itself, which is about 24 metres squared, is even more spacious and enjoyable, both during the day and in the evening, with its vast covered area made unique by its lateral carbon fittings and seating, a teak table for 10 people, a bar, a large solarium and, for the first time, a 32” in-built TV placed on the ceiling on the left. The upper sun deck, an independent and functional area where one can make the best out of moments of relaxation, is also equipped with an innovative dash board and a wide seating space in-built in a comfortable piece of furniture, with an in-built ice box and four chaise lounge facing the stern. Among these structural innovations, which required the specific support of the Pershing technical staff, it is worth mentioning the highly innovative entertainment and domotic system, which once again highlights the constant commitment of the brand to offer forefront products. In fact, this vessel is equipped with a centralized audio and visual system that can be managed by a “touch panel” with AMX technology and it can be integrated with the installation of a “Kaleidoscape” system which archives music and dvds like in a library. Moreover, the system actively controls, through the same touch panel, the Lutron light system, electrical curtains, air conditioning and a closed-circuit video camera system, which makes it possible to watch the onboard nautical maps and the bridge radar routes on the dash board. Finally, on this vessel there is an onboard monitoring system for parameters such as the closure of the porthole and the external doors, the tension level of the batteries and the smoke detector. Pershing 115 hull number nine is powered by two MTUs which total 7400hp with the applied thrust of the two Kamewa Rolls Royce water-jet propellers with a maximum velocity of about 38 knots. A unique characteristic of this mega yacht is the presence of a Vericor TF50 gas turbine, typically used in the aeronautical sector, capable of developing a power of over 5100 hp, with a central water-jet propeller propulsion. Its use requires specific accessories and mechanical parts and technologies that are integrated within the system which includes, for example, the titanium drain, the axis and the reducer. A big merit of this set up is its silence and the absence of vibrations up to the maximum velocity of 52 knots. www.pershing-yacht.com

New Model: Filippetti 26 Navetta

Filippetti has launched the first model of the new Navetta green series line the 26 Navetta in an event held in Rimini on December 2010. This yacht is designed by Pietro Mingarelli in an ecological and Eco-sustainable manner, complying with rigorous principles of environmental, safety and quality regulations, without ever losing sight of the tastes of the owner. The 26 Navetta has therefore been certified with Rina Green Star Yacht certificate a noble accreditation that guarantees environmental protection and energy savings. The 26 Navetta will have two large spaces available. The first is the imposing owner's cabin on the forward deck, which occupies close to half of the total volume of the yacht and is further divided into two areas. From the cabin, by way of a descending internal ladder, a second large space is accessed, which includes a bath with shower or jacuzzi tub and sauna, locker and a further bay. The other large space is found in the stern, on the upper deck. Usually destined for storage of the tender, on the 26 Navetta this has become a large solarium dedicated to the relaxation of the owner and guests. On the 26 Navetta the other undisputed protagonist is natural light which is found everywhere, from the owner's stateroom the windows run 180 degrees toward the bow, to the lower deck cabins, including the VIP cabin located mid ship which features large vertical style port holes. Power is from twin Cat 825hp engines which give a 14 knots top speed, 12 knots cruise, and a range of 2500 nautical miles at the best economic performance.

Projects: Cayman 50 Express, Cayman 57 HT

Italian Cayman Yachts presents two projects both over the fifteen meter dimensions, and to be completed by the end of this year. Pictured above are the renderings for the 50 Express which will also launch this new range by Cayman along the previous Flybridge, Hardtop, and Walk Around lines. The 50 Express is designed by Hot Lab studios. The interior will go out of the usual schematics of this size offering a privacy orientated plan with a lower deck having only two cabins; an owners suite to mid ship, and VIP room to fore. Below is also space for the galley, and the crew room located to mid ship behind the owners cabin, this being in a separate area and having the entrance from the aft part of the saloon. The main deck will be dedicated to living with an L-shaped saloon, and three part patio door joining this area with the aft cockpit. For the 50 Express, Hot Lab keep the much appreciated Cayman walk around deck with a very interesting fore deck settee which is surely hard to find in this size. Power is from twin Cummins 600hp with Cayman estimating a 33 knots top speed with this set up. The Cayman 57 HT will be the third model to join the hard top line which was presented in 2008 with the launch of the 75 flagship designed by Carlo Trezzi. As the 50 Express the 57 HT sees Cayman again trust design duties to Hot Lab studio. Here Hot Lab go for a more modern aggressive exterior, but keeping in line with concepts seen on the 50, as the settee on the fore deck. Interior space is for a three cabin plan, with the third cabin looking to be a transformable affair which can open up and be as a small settee on the lower deck. The galley is located below in between the masters suite to mid ship, and VIP room to fore. Power is from twin Cummins 715hp with Cayman estimating a very promising 33 knots top speed with this set up.

New Model: Prestige 350 Flybridge

A very interesting and expected model from Prestige, this is the 350 Flybridge. Designed by Garroni, with the help of J & J, and Je De Premmorel for the concept the new 350 Flybridge builds on the hull lines of the early 2010 launched NC11, and is to be the entry level smallest model of the Prestige brand. Very stylish looks for a small size flybridge motor cruiser, a spacious aft deck, and interiors are the 350 Flybridge strong points. Living spaces on the main deck offer a C-shaped settee to port side, bar, and helm station to starboard. Below is an L-shaped galley, and the two cabins; owners room to fore, and double guest to port side. In every area the 350 Flybridge surprises for its spaces considering the length of just over eleven meters and this is acquired thanks to the use of stern drive propulsion, which also give better efficiency to the positive, but have higher annual servicing costs on the negative. Power is from twin 220hp Volvo engines which as I said for the NC11 do look a bit small for this size and weight flybridge motor cruiser.

New Model: Lazzara 76 Breeze

Named as the Lazzara 76 LMC project, the Fort Lauderdale show presented 76 Breeze is an interesting new model and continues the spirit of innovation route as started by this family run company in the last decade. The 76 Breeze is a motor yacht of the future, and while its main interest will surely be its propulsion of three engines with ZF pods, there is much more to it. Most interesting is that the 76 Breeze is surely one of the most spacious yachts in this size, not because of its four double cabins layout, very huge crew lobby, but also for other amenities as an utility room in between the rooms, and one of the largest flybridges in this size. In all this I have to say the 76 Breeze looks elegant, classic yet modern. Without going to far this is big challenge to European builders in this style of yacht with a US flare to the overall, and with ingenuity that rarely comes from the US in these sizes. Power which is the ticket of interest of this yacht is three Cummins 600hp with ZF pods propulsion which will offer a benefit of consumption numbers at the pump to move this fifty ton motor yacht.
Technical Data:
LOA - 23.29 m (76.5ft)
Hull Length - 22.3 m
Waterline Length - 18.2 m
Beam - 5.61 m
Draft - 1.35 m
Displacement - 47600 kg half load
Fuel Capacity - 4921 l
Water Capacity - 1136 l
Accommodation - 8 berths in 4 cabins, 2 crew berths in 1 cabins
Engines - 3 x Cummins 600hp
Propulsion - ZF aft looking dual propeller pods
Hull Shape - modified Vee with 12.5 degrees deadrise aft

Projects: Riviera 61 Enclosed Bridge Series II, Riviera 61 Open Flybridge Series II

Riviera presents the project for the 61 Series II in Enclosed Flybridge version as above or Open Flybridge as pictured below. When the 61 was launched in 2007, this model featured a Frank Mulder modified Vee hull shape and was regarded as the best handling in the Riviera fleet. Now the down under renowned builder enhances this model all over with new features as seen in latest Riviera models. A recognizable exterior feature of the 61 Series II will surely be the large hull window servicing the owners mid ship located stateroom. Below a three or four double cabin choice with both options having the living with saloon and galley on the main deck. In the four cabin choice, the extra bunk guest cabin takes space away from the fore VIP suite. Three heads serve the cabins two of which en suite for the owners and VIP rooms in both choices. The upper Enclosed Bridge which features an internal staircase will have C-shaped settee, dual seat helm station, wet bar, docking station outside, and a view mezzanine settee on the aft. The 61 Series II is also enhanced in the aft deck and will features a dual mezzanine settee as seen on the Riviera 70 flagship. Changes also include the main living deck now having an aft galley and forward L-shaped saloon. The galley thanks to the Riviera hinged window feature can join with the cockpit creating a nice inside outside fully communicating deck.
The project of the 61 Open Flybridge Series II is a novelty here, as Riviera never offered an open version for the 61 first series. So far no details are given for the Open Flybridge accept that the above picture shows an aft helm of sport fisherman style and a fixed solid hard top. Standard power for the Riviera 61 Series II is twin Cats 1015hp with speeds estimates being of 28 knots with this choice. Other larger engine choices should be available allowing for speeds up to 34 knots. The 61 Series will use traditional shaft propulsion, and also construction is to stay on the tyred and tested hand laminated style. The hull of the 61 Series II also receives a modification with Riviera's in house naval architect Alan Dawd widening the planning strakes to reduce spray and improve trim and performance. Riviera has already four 61's on construction and the model will be showed first time at Sanctuary Cove boat show.

The layout of the 58 keeps the same principles of the replaced 56, with a three cabins lower deck, and saloon with galley, or a two cabins choice with bigger L-shaped saloon settee and owners mid ship stateroom. Also no change for the aft deck cockpit which is also one of the appreciated features of the 56, thanks to its large spaces centred around a large sun pad and two L-shaped settees. Projects: Cutwater 26, Cutwater 28

Cutwater Boats is a new line of trailerable, pilothouse cruisers being introduced by Fluid Motion, LLC, the designers and builders of the popular line of Ranger Tugs. A Cutwater 26 and Cutwater 28 will be the first two models built and their express style and innovative hull design provide flexibility for fishing, entertaining and cruising. The introduction of a new line of boats comes at a time when the marine industry continues to rebound from hard economic times but Fluid Motion, a family-operated boat building business since 1958, saw an opportunity to build an efficient, trailerable cruising boat that will offer stability and faster cruising of up to 25 knots thanks to its patented Keel Stepped Hull. The Cutwater hull is a revolutionary and innovative design introduced by Dave and John Livingston, owners of Fluid Motion. The Keel Stepped Hull is a blend of a semi-displacement shape with reverse chines and a keel which provides superb handling performance. A high pressure bump in the hull allows the engine to be mounted low in the hull contributing to a low center of gravity and when combined with the prop pocket keeps the Cutwater’s draft at just 28 inches. The low engine mount also creates a shallow six degree shaft angle allowing for more net thrust with less horsepower which translates into greater fuel efficiency. This combination of design details contributes to stability, speed and fuel economy. Cutwater Boats are ideal for couple’s cruising with a full beam v-berth master stateroom and en suite head. The living area of saloon, galley and helm are all in the pilothouse space with 360-degree visibility through quality Diamond Sea-Glaze windows. The saloon and cockpit are on the same level allowing for ease of movement from one space to the next which are separated by a weather tight hinged door. The forward windows are raked so water easily streams off and for better visibility when running at speed. Cutwater Boats also come standard with bow and stern thrusters for ease of operation and maneuverability. From the innovative hull shape to reliable standard equipment and a practical interior layout, Cutwater Boats are a multi-purpose design for inland and coastal cruising. A functional cockpit includes aft seating with storage underneath and boarding access via a molded-on swim platform. The standard Yanmar diesel engine is housed under the cockpit sole and under deck compartments also store an optional Mase diesel generator plus provide ample storage. The Cutwater line of boats will be built at a dedicated facility in Monroe, WA, ensuring high-quality construction as well as cost efficiencies from leveraging the Fluid Motion experienced crew of builders and craftsmen. Pictured on top is the Cutwater 26 which will be the first to be launched of the new models at end of this month. The 26 will be powered by a single Yanmar 180hp engine and has an overall length of thirty feet fully rigged with platform and pulpit. The Cutwater 28 pictured above will use the same hull as the smaller sister and will be the second model of this new brand from Fluid Motion. Sharing a similar hull but longer, the 28 offers a cockpit with more space to length, which allows for more inventory here being used for a wash basin to starboard, and a compartment to port. The longer length also allowed for a bigger engine into the 28 having a larger single 260hp Yanmar diesel engine.

New Model: Sunseeker 63 Manhattan

Launched at the fall of 2010 Sunseeker 63 Manhattan is a motor yacht that continues the recent spirit of innovation the British brand has recently taken. Benetti New Web Site

Renowned status symbol super yacht builder Benetti updates its web virtual showroom to a new platform. Benetti was founded in 1873 by Lorenzo who acquired a Darsena Boatyard near Lucca. He managed the yard for forty years till 1914 when after Lorenzo's death, Gino and Emilio renamed the business as Frattelli Benetti. 1927 sees more of the Benetti family getting involved in the business with Giuseppe and Virgilio Gino's two sons succeeding him, while Maurizio and Bertani, Emilio heirs also join the company. 1941 is an important date for Benetti with the company launching Maria the first diesel powered steel hulled ship. In 1954 the yard is split into two parts; Fratelli Benetti concentrating on sailing and motor boats, and M & B Benetti yard which is dedicated to commercial vessels. 1963 sees Emilio's nephew Giuseppe take the helm helped by his son Lorenzo who will be an important figure to create the Benetti yachting heritage. In 1978 Benetti launches Vanina designed by American architect Kauffmann to win the Admirals cup. This launch is followed a year later by the largest Benetti in length to ever touch the water the 86 metres Nabila designed by Jon Banenberg for owner Adrian Kashoggi. After a couple difficult years Benetti is acquired in 1985 by Azimut chairman Paolo Vitelli, who two years after this launches the steel built Rima to a design of Terrence Disdale. In 1988 a big feat surrounds Benetti with the building of the 27 meter Azimut Atlantic Challenger, which makes a failed attempt to win the Blue Ribbon for the fastest Atlantic Crossing. After this Benetti makes it progress with the launching of the 45 meter Ambrosia designed by Zuretti and Natucci, with the same duo following this a year later for the first 50 meters Golden Bay series. 1998 sees an important strategic move with the partial purchase of the Moschini yard fully completed in 2002, and the launching of the first fiberglass built Benetti 35 metre Classic. More semi custom fiberglass follow the 35 Classic, 2003 30M Tradition, 120 Classic in 2004, and in 2005 the Benetti 24 Legend project is presented. Year 2000 represents an important launch of the 70 meter Reverie in 2000, the second largest Benetti ever built. Benetti's current range is divided into two ranges; Class and Custom. The semi custom Class launched in 2009 offers seven models starting with the 93 Delfino, up to the 164 Vision Supreme. The Custom range can build from 43 meters up to 70 meters, and current New Proposals are six models which start from the alloy constructed 47 Imagination, to a 68M steel super yacht. Benetti new web virtual showroom is available in English and Italian language and takes you around with the following buttons; Brand, Yachts, Events & Media, Captain's Bridge, and Owners Lounge.
