Sport Cruiser Wrecked by Fire in Argostoli, Greece

A sport cruiser of twelve meters in length was wrecked by fire as it was moored at the port of Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece on the evening of Tuesday twenty August, 2024.  Firefighters rushed to the scene with four fire fighting vehicles and ten fire fighters to fight the blaze.  Nearby boats and yachts were moved as precaution, as the fire was controlled and then extinguished in a relatively short time, although the sport cruiser still ended wrecked and destroyed by the fire.  Due to the fire the coastal road in Argostoli was closed, causing traffic chaos, while the smoke and strong smell reached the central square of Argostoli.  No one was injured with the boat reported not to be attended before and during the blaze, with the cause of the fire not being reported.
The sport cruiser in this fire is a Cruisers 4270 Express as produced from 1997 to 2003.  The 4270 Express was a replacement to the raised bridge 4285 Express, and was replaced by the Cruisers 440 Express.
