A boat yard fire on the afternoon of Tuesday thirteen August at Piermanni waterfront in Civitanova Marche, Macerata burned a ten meter Trojan sport cruiser. The fire is reported to have started at 17:20 hours, with the Trojan cruiser heavily damaged by the blaze which also damaged the boat yard tools deposit. Fire fighting squads from Civitanova, Fermo, and Macerate tended to the fire turning it off at about 20:00 hours. According to some reports the fire might have started from an arson, with the investigation now inspecting CCTV cameras in the area. A fire also interested a boat yard in the same area, and a similar but a bit larger Trojan cruiser on 25 February of this year.
The boat in this fire is a Trojan 10M Express as produced from 1981 to 1989. The 10M had two other variants the Mid Cabin, and the flybridge Sedan version, with Trojan reportedly selling hundreds of these. The 10M started a new Euro designed inspired era for Trojan with the model replaced by the 10.8 Meter Express and Sedan models, which used the same Delta-Conic hull shape but extended in length.
