Classic Hatteras Sinks at Dockside Marina Fort Pierce

An unattended classic Hatteras sportfish boat of about twelve meters in length sank at Dockside Marina, Fort Pierce Florida on the afternoon of Wednesday seventh August.  The cause of the sinking was not reported, though a possible through hull fitting failure, might have been the cause.  TowBoat U.S attended to the sinking, circling the boat with a protection boon first, and then starting a lift out operation.
The Hatteras sportfish in this sinking is a 46 Convertible Series I, as designed by Jack Hargrave and produced from 1974 to 1981.  The 46 Convertible came out as a replacement to the 45 Convertible, and was tweaked into the Hatteras 46 Convertible Series II in the fall of 1984.
