Boston Whaler Ends Aground Near Marco Island, Florida

A nine meter Boston Whaler sportfish cruiser ended aground on a sand-bar near Marco Island, Florida on the late afternoon of Sunday second August. The boat was assisted by TowBoatUS Naples and Marco Island, who shared the story on its Facebook page.  TowBoatUS towed the boat into deep water later on in the evening. The cause of the accident and persons on board at time of the incident was not reported.
The boat in this accident is a Boston Whaler 315 Conquest as produced from 2013 to 2020.  The 315 Conquest was a replacement to the 305 Conquest, and was replaced by the Boston Whaler 325 Conquest.

Four Saved as Flybridge Cruiser Goes Ablaze in Hvar, Croatia

Four boaters, two of which small children were saved as an eleven meter flybridge cruiser went ablaze off the Coast of Pelegrin in Hvar, Croatia at 11:52 morning time of Friday 31 July.  The National Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Rijeka received news of the fire, with the Hvar Volunteer Fire Department responding to the blaze, and saving the boaters first and then extinguishing the fire.  The blaze was extinguished, with the cause of the fire starting in the stern.
The boat in this accident is an Enterprise 38 as designed by John Bennett and produced in the nineties.  Enterprise Marine was founded in 1984, and today offers a line of build to order flybridge cruisers and yachts from twelve to eighteen meters.

Classic Sport Cruiser Ends Beached in Mellieha, Malta

A not attended swing moored classic sport cruiser of ten meters in length ended aground in the Bay of Mellieha, to the North West of the Island of Malta at around 20:00 of Tuesday 28 July.  The boat which was swing moored broke its mooring after Easterly winds reached Beaufort Force six intensity, as it ended beached in a sandy area.  The damage from the grounding is not known.
The boat in this accident is a Halmatic DS110 as designed by Don Shead and produced from 1968 to 1972 in 28 units.

One Injured in Sportfish Research Vessel Collision in Barnegat, New Jersey

One diver was injured as a ten meter sportfish cruiser collided into a similar sized down-East styled research vessel eight nautical miles offshore to Barnegat Inlet, New Jersey at around 11:45 morning time of Friday 31 July.  US Coast Guard responded to the emergency and then air lifted the injured diver to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Centre’s mainland campus in Galloway Township. Both boats were heavily damaged, the sportfish cruiser in its bow as pictured above, and the other vessel had its pilot house wrecked. The collision was reported to be caused by the sportfish cruiser who had autopilot engaged and stuck the other vessel which was doing a diving expedition at 25 knots.
The sportfish cruiser in this collision is a Grady-White Express 330 first generation as produced from 2001 to 2007.  The Express 330 mark.1 debuted Grady-White Express line, and was replaced by the second generation Express 330.

Two Saved as Jeanneau Cruiser Ends Aground in Baia de Bandol, France

Two persons and a twelve meter Jeanneau sport cruiser titled Balade Gourmande were saved as it ended beached at Baie de Bandol in the South of France on 13:22 of Sunday 26 July.  SNSM Bandol who shared the story on its Facebook page assisted the sport cruiser with the SNS164 Saint Elme II patrol boat, and after an hour of works was towing the boat to the port of Bandol.  No injuries were reported with the cause of the accident reported to be a broken mooring. 
The boat in this accident is a Jeanneau Leader 40 as designed by Garroni and produced from 2014 to 2021.  The Leader 40 was a replacement to the Prestige 42S, and was replaced by the Jeanneau DB/43.

Bayliner Trophy Hits Jetty in Yaquina Bay, Newport

A seven meter Bayliner Trophy with three persons onboard collided into the jetty at Yaquina Bay in Newport Oregon, on the afternoon of Tuesday 21 July.  Oregon Coast Explored who shared the story on Facebook, advised that the boat collided into the jetty at high tide, which does not show it and makes invisible, and in poor visibility.  The boat was reported to have freed itself in high tide two days later, which suggest it sustained little damage.  No injuries are reported from the accident.
The boat in this accident is a Bayliner Trophy 2509 Walkaround as produced from 1996 to 2003.  The Trophy 2509 Walkaround was a replacement to the Bayliner Trophy 2502 Walkaround, and was replaced by the Trophy branded 2502 Walkaround.

Prestige Catamaran Saved From Sinking in Barnegat, New Jersey

A fourteen meter Prestige power catamaran was saved from sinking after it collided into the North Jetty of Barnegat Inlet, in New Jersey on the afternoon of Wednesday fifteen July.  TowBoatUS Barnegat Light and Beach Haven who shared the story on its Facebook page responded to the accident with two vessels, and managed to keep the vessel floating by deploying multiple pumps.  Following this TowBoatUS towed the vessel to Barnegat Bay Marina for an emergency haulout.  The cause of the accident is not reported, with the vessel damaging its shafts and propeller and surround area.
The power catamaran in this accident is a Prestige M48 as designed by Garroni and Philippe Briand and produced since 2022.  The M48 debuted Prestige catamaran line which today features four models from fourteen to nineteen meters.

Beneteau Trawler Ends Aground at Ile Rousse, Corsica

A ten meter Beneteau Explorer Cruiser ended aground at Ile Rouse island located to the North of Corsica on Friday third July.  The story was shared on Facebook by NicebySea6, as the boat was being towed back into the deep water on the same later afternoon.  After the towing it was reported that the explorer cruiser tried to return to port with it's power, but could not move as he had no gear engaging, and was towed to his port of call.
The boat in this accident is a Beneteau Swift Trawler 34 S as designed by M.Joubert and B.Nivelt and produced from 2010 to 2016.  A total of 411 Swift Trawler were build, this number also including the flybridge version.

Prestige Cruiser Strikes North Jetty at Barnegat, New Jersey

A twelve meter Prestige hard-top cruiser collided into the North Jetty at Barnegat inlet, New Jersey on the afternoon of Tuesday second July.  The hard-top cruiser was assisted by SeaTow Central New Jersey who shared the story on its Facebook page.  Sea-Tow then towed the boat for an emergency haul out.  During haul out the vessel showed damage to its bow.  No reported injuries are reported from the accident.
The boat in this accident is a second generation Prestige 420 S as designed by Garroni and produced since 2020.  The 420 S was a replacement to the first generation Prestige 420 S.

Carver Boat Ends Aground at Hereford Inlet, New Jersey

A ten meter Carver motor cruiser ended aground at Hereford Inlet in North Wildwood, New Jersey on the afternoon of Wednesday first July.  Sea Tow Cape May who shared the story on its Facebook page assisted the boat, by putting it back in deep water, and then towing in safe waters for inspection.  The boat was reported to have ended aground due to a very low tide, and challenging rough conditions.
The boat in this accident is a Carver 36 Mariner as produced from 2004 to 2012.  The 36 Marine was a soft improvement to the 350 Mariner.

One Injured as Yacht and Rib Collide Near Ischia Island

One person was injured as a yacht reported to be over twenty meters in length and a rib-cruiser of twelve meters collided near the Castello Aragonesi area on the island of Ischia, on the morning of Monday 29 June.   The Guardia Costiera of Ischia and Port Captaincy responded to the accident, taking the injured boater to Ischia island to be assisted by the 118 emergency crew.  Following this the coast guard also towed the rib-cruiser which seemed to be the one suffering the most from the collusion.  The cause of the accident are not fully reported, with some news reporting that the yacht crushed the rib on the collision, damaging it heavily on its port side.
The rib-cruiser in this accident is a Solemar 44 Oceanic as produced in the noughties.  We have no news of the yacht involved in the collision.

Scarab Powerboat Partly Sinks at Barnegat Marina, New Jersey

A not attended eight meter Scarab power boat partly sank while moored in its slip at Barnegat Inlet in New Jersey on the afternoon of Saturday 27 June.  TowboatUS Barnegat Light and Beach Haven which shared the story on its Facebook page, assisted the boat as they dewatered it, raised it and then towed to a boat ramp for repairs.  The cause of the sinking was not reported.
The boat in this sinking is a Wellcraft Scarab 29 as produced from 1994 to 2002.

Capsized Sportfish Cruiser Recovered in Florida

An eight meter in size sportfish cruiser with twin outboard motors was recovered as it capsized offshore to Miami, with the story shared on Tuesday 23 June on the Fast Response Marine Towing and Salvage Facebook page.  Fast Response salvaged the boat, by flipping it, and then towing to a boat ramp for recovery.  During the lift out the boat had one motor down, and the other up.  No further news, how the accident happened and and if anyone was injured seem to be available about this.
The boat in this accident is a Fountain 29 Sportfish Cruiser as produced from 1995 to 2005.  The 29 Sportfish Cruiser was a replacement to the 27 Sportfish Cruiser and replaced by the Fountain 33 Sportfish Cruiser.

Beneteau Cruiser Ends Aground on Loncaric Reef in Croatia

A nine meter Beneteau flybridge cruiser ended aground over the Loncaric reef located near the islands of Vrtlic and Murvenjak in Adriatic sea Croatia, on the night of nineteen June. It looks like following the collision the boat was secured with its anchor and a rope to its bow, as the picture above shows. Kapetanija Harbour Master is investigating the accident with the cause of the grounding and if any injuries came from it are not advised.  As of second July the boat was not yet recovered and was partly listing to it's port side.
The boat in this accident is a Beneteau Antares Serie 9 as produced from 2003 to 2008.  The Antares Serie 9 was a replacement to the Antares 9.05 and was replaced by the Beneteau Antares 30.

Sport Cruiser Saved from Sinking in Procida Island, Italy

A twelve meter in size sport cruiser with five persons onboard, three of which small children was saved from sinking near the Phlegraean Island of Procida, on the Tyrrhenian side of Italy at around 15:20 of Saturday sixth June.  The Port Captaincy and Guardia Costiera coast guard of Naples received the call for assistance, and deployed the search and rescue CP 807 vessel, with the GC 806 of the Procida section arriving first on the scene.  The GC 806 saved the boaters first, and on the arrival of CP 807 started an operation to save the vessel, which was a success, even in light of the strong westerly winds of the afternoon.  Following the return of safety to the boat, this was then towed at Marina Chiaiolella to the South of the island.  No injuries were reported from the accident with the cause of the water entry not being reported.
The boat in this accident is a Gagliotta Camaro Even 42 as produced in the noughties.  The Camaro Even 42 was a replacement to the Camaro 43, and was replaced by Gagliotta 44.

Sea Ray Flybridge Cruiser Ends Aground at Jewfish Key, Florida

A fourteen meter Sea Ray flybridge cruiser with two persons onboard ended aground near New Pass in Jewfish Key island, Florida at 18:45 of Wednesday third June.  Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services of TowBoatUS who shared this story on his YouTube channel assisted the boat, and removed it from the sandbar into deep water, in a race against time, as a scheduled incoming tide would have pushed the flybridge cruiser even further into the sand-bar and hard-aground, and make removal more complicated.  Ultimately the operation was a success and the flybridge cruiser left with it's own power, meaning its sustained very little damage.
The boat in this accident is a Sea Ray 47 Sedan Bridge as produced from 2008 to 2009.  The 47 Sedan Bridge was a replacement to the 480 Sedan bridge, and was replaced by the Sea Ray 450 Sedan Bridge.

Regal Cruiser Ends Aground in Strathmere, New Jersey

A ten meters Regal sport cruiser ran aground at Strathmere in New Jersey on the afternoon of Sunday 31 May.  Sea Tow Cape May who shared the story on its Facebook page with a reel assisted the boat, removing it from the sand-bar and then towing into deep water.  A lack of attention but also, higher sand-bars then usual where a reason for the grounding.   No injuries or important damage to the boat are reported. 
The boat in this accident is a Regal 36 XO as produced since 2020.  The 36 XO is the outboard version of the 36 Grande Coupe, which was a replacement to the Regal 36 Sport Coupe.

Strong Winds Causes Damage and Part Sinks Boats in Boston

Strong North Easterly winds on Saturday thirtieth May caused caos in Boston, USA as they part sank and damaged around a dozen of boats.  TowBoatUS Boston, Beverly and Newburyport which shared the story on its Facebook showed around eight boats being saved, including a heavily damaged and wrecked trawler boat.  TowboatUS also showed the above Sea Ray aft cabin cruiser which broke its mooring and part sank bow first, and also a Chaparral ten meter cruiser, as it was floated and water out being pumped out.   
The motor boats in this accident are a Sea Ray 380 Aft Cabin as produced from 2000 to 2001, and a Chaparral 310 Signature as produced from 2004 to 2009.

Tiara Sport Cruiser Ends Aground Near Puerto del Ray, Fajardo

A twelve meter Tiara sport cruiser named Chiqui Lilly with nine passengers onboard ended colliding aground on the rocks off Puerto del Ray Marina in Fajardo on the night of Sunday seventeen May.  After a report by a fellow boater about the collision Sea Tow Fajardo assisted the boaters first and were later helped by US Coast Guard sector San Juan, who reported the story on its Facebook page.  The cause of the accident is reported to be a navigation error, with this being investigated by Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces of Rapid Action, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration.  A notice to remove the vessel has been given to the ownership.
The boat in this accident is a Tiara 43 LE as produced since 2020.  The 43 LE was a replacement to the Tiara 44 Coupe, different also for being outboard powered.

Tiara Ends Aground in Double Creek Channel, New Jersey

 
A fourteen meter Tiara sport cruiser ran aground near Waretown Cut in Double Creek Channel, New Jersey on Saturday sixteen May.  Sea Tow Central New Jersey who shared the story on its Facebook page assisted the boat, removed it from the sand-bar, as this then proceeded with its own power, suggesting it sustained little to no damage.  The cause of the accident is reported that Double Creek Channel is still not properly marked, with Sea Tow suggesting the boaters to take the extra mile and use Oyster Creek Channel for the moment.  No injuries are reported from the accident.
The boat in this accident is a Tiara 48 LS as produced from 2021 to 2026.  The 48 LS was replaced by the Tiara 46 LS this year.
