Project: Release Boatworks 55 Walkaround Flybridge

Release Boatworks from New Jersey have at the start of 2023 started the construction for the first 55’ Walkaround Flybridge, a versatile fishing platform, with elegance worthy of complimenting a superyacht as its game-boat. The Release Boatworks 55 Walkaround Flybridge comes from the minds of Jim Turner, Naval Architect Erwin Gerards, and production manager Scott Jastrzembski who had the design for the walkaround flybridge in mind years ago. As with any Release Boatworks, this boat is specifically designed to cater to the owner’s needs and wants. This 55’ Walkaround Flybridge will be the gameboat for an expedition yacht in the 160’ range for a multi-family operation planning to travel to Mag Bay, Costa Rica, Panama, Isla Mujeres, and The Bahamas. The superyacht will serve its purpose as a floating hotel, while on any given day there won’t be less than ten people on the 55’ for ten-hour adventures of marlin fishing, spearfishing, deep dropping, and diving. The boat owners, who have sons and daughters that love to fish and dive, originally used a centre console as their chase boat, but the range, lack of comfort, and maintenance intervals became a limiting factor to their family travels.
The 55’ Walkaround Flybridge will provide three staterooms, a tackle room, a custom dive locker, two Seakeeper 6 stabilizers for maximum comfort, an expanded fuel capacity for long range, redundancy of systems and pumps in case anything goes wrong in a remote destination, and a quick connect fuel manifold system for fuel bladders, among many other custom features. She will be powered with twin MTU 1622hp for cruising speeds in the mid thirty knots and a top end upwards of forty. The Release Boatworks 55 Walkaround Flybridge hull one home port will be Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  The Release Boatworks has already sold two more 55's which is also available as a Flybridge Dayboat, Inboard Walkaround, and Express platforms.

New Launch: Jarrett Bay 64 Sportfisherman Hull #65

Jarrett Bay Boatworks has delivered the latest evolution of their popular 64’ hull to owners with deep ties to the company since its inception nearly 37 years ago. The fifth custom boat to be commissioned by a family spanning three generations, Hull 65 has taken to the water with sleek styling and peak performance worthy of her force-to-be-reckoned, titled as m/y Rebelette as a nod to the owners’ allegiance to Ole Miss. Jarrett Bay has built many sportfish convertibles in the sixty-foot range over its history, but a series of recent 64 commissions have established this size as a signature length for it's custom fleet. Similar to every hull built before her, Rebelette was designed and built to the owner’s exact specifications and requests. Although the Alexseal Cloud White hull and top sides, along with the centreline helm station built into a peninsula console on the flying bridge, may resemble other recent Jarrett Bay builds, other likenesses are few in this latest launch. Hull 65 is the first new Jarrett Bay to be splashed with Caterpillar Marine’s latest propulsion technology, which has undergone hundreds of hours of strenuous testing on the Beaufort's custom builder 70 Sportfisherman hull 48, serving as the research and demo platform for Cat. With twin turbos on each engine, hull 65’s Cat engines are rated at 2,025hp and are complimented by the Three60 Precision Control joystick system. Jarrett Bay 64 Sportfisherman Hull#65 sea trials did not disappoint with smooth rides found at both an efficient cruise of 37 knots, with wide open speeds pushing 44 knots. Additionally, these CAT powerplants were extremely responsive in manoeuvring her loaded weight of over 35 tons as nimbly as vessels a fraction of her weight.

Project: Viking 64 Enclosed Bridge

Viking has always believed in the design and development of the enclosed bridge, and presents the project for the 64 Enclosed Bridge.  A new entry level to the Enclosed Bridge range the 64 EB comes as replacement to the 62EB produced from 2014 to 21 and offers the comfortable out of the weather, climate-controlled raised command centre. The 64 Enclosed Bridge features the typical Viking wraparound windshield which gives excellent sightlines in all directions, a style mimicked inside by the raised helm console that holds the electronics components, engine controls and Optimus electric power steering. This console is also to be finished in black Ultraleather surfaces and visor to reduce glare.  As is usual the Viking 64 enclosed bridge also serves as the home for a second salon, a private retreat with an L-shaped lounge, refrigerator, cocktail table and entertainment centre. New Model: Viking 54 Open

The largest express-style yacht Viking has ever built, the 54 Open series consists of three models; the 54 Open, 54 Sport Coupe and 54 Sport Tower. The Open Series made its world premiere at last year’s 2021 Fort Lauderdale boat show with the Sport Coupe version featuring a custom radar mast atop a three-sided fiberglass deckhouse. A few months later, Viking showcased the 54 Sport Tower for the first time with the gorgeous FarNiente at the Miami boat show.  At the Fort Lauderdale 2022 in end October Viking completed the circle presenting the 54 Open which featured a custom Palm Beach tuna tower, and unlike the Sport Tower and Sport Coupe, this model has a three-sided wraparound windshield with space between it at the hardtop, allowing a more open-air environment on the command deck. The 54 O can also be delivered without a tuna tower as a sleek express yacht.  The 54 Open’s fiberglass windshield frame is designed and fabricated in-house at Viking adhering to strict tolerances, what is a single-piece fiberglass part perfect windshield.  Above is a shot of the show-bound first 54 Open in its final stages of construction, with a tower designed and fabricated at PBT in Riviera Beach, Florida. Atlantic Marine Electronics, another Viking subsidiary, has pre-installed the wiring for the tower electronics. The first Viking 54 Open also received a teak cockpit sole.  Back in New Jersey, the next 54 Open which will also be fitted with a PBT tower, is in the mechanical department ready for its powerplant of twin Man 1550hp and gyroscopic stabilizer Seakeeper 16 installations.

New Launch: Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67

Since the launch of Hull #57 the 46 Sportfisherman in 2011 Jarrett Bay has taken an innovative approach in some of its custom builds which break the standard mold of the sportfish cruiser or yacht.  This recently launched fully custom Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67 titled m/y Renegade is again following to that approach which I am sure comes from a challenging clients request, which the Carolina boat builder is ready to make for a happy customer.  Hull #67 for example may look your traditional sportfish convertible with flybridge, but upon closer inspection, you’ll find an additional lower helm station and convertible bulkhead that makes her a unique hybrid with the ability to transform and open its main deck.  This layout changes how the interior works with a main galley located on the lower deck, while a dinette and smaller galley is located on the main deck.  Accommodation is for four, with a master cabin forward, and a guest cabin with twin bunks to starboard.  Jarrett Bay’s ride characteristics and performance are complemented by twin MTU 1600hp which give the 56 Open Convertible top speed up to forty knots.
