One Young Boy Injured in Lake Texoma Classic Cruiser Explosion

A classic sport cruiser of eight meters in length with three adults and a young five year old boy went ablaze near the fuel dock of Bridgeview Marina in Lake Texoma, Madill, Oklahoma around 14:45 of Sunday fourth August.  The classic cruiser was reported to have just refuelled when on igniting the engine it exploded, and then went ablaze.  With the explosion the young boy suffered burns to arms, face, and legs and was helicopter air-lifted to Parkland Burn Center in Dallas. The three other adults; a 52 year old man, and two women of 51 and 25 years old were uninjured from the explosion.  Madill Fire Department and Tri-City Fire Department responded to the fire, as Oklahoma Department of Public Safety and  Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the blaze.
The classic boat in this explosion looks to be a Chris Craft Catalina 28 Express as produced in the mid eighties.  The Catalina 28 Express came as a replacement to the Catalina 281, and was one of the last raised cabin house cruisers from Chris Craft.
