A seven meter sport cruiser with two persons onboard went ablaze on Cecil M. Harden Lake, Raccoon side, Indiana, on the late afternoon of Monday 26 August. The two boaters, a man and a woman jumped overboard, with the man swimming it to shore, and the lady jumping later and recovered by a nearby boater. Raccoon sheriff attended to the fire, which is reported to have lasted about an hour, with the boat also making small explosions later on as the fire arrived to the petrol gas fuel tanks. The causes of the fire are not reported, though unconfirmed news on social media said that the boat was making its first outing of the season.
The boat in this fire is a first generation Crownline 250 CR as produced from 1993 to 2000. The Crownline 250 CR was replaced in 2002 with the new second generation version.
