Cranchi Boat Destroyed by Fire in Ghadira Bay Malta

A ten meter Cranchi sport cruiser was destroyed by a fire in Ghadira Bay, Mellieha, Malta, with the blaze starting at about 22:30 of Friday sixteen August.  Fire fighters from the Civil Protection and Red Cross rescue workers intervened to control the fire, with the boat ending a wreck and sinking.  It is not understood if the Cranchi sport cruiser was un-attended or not at the time of the fire, or the boaters abandoned it when the blaze started as local media are giving conflicting reports of the event.  The cause of the fire is not reported, with the boat salvaged on Monday nineteen August by local company Polaris Marine Service co. Ltd.
The Cranchi boat in this fire is a 33 Endurance as produced from 2002 up to 2005 to a design by Aldo Cranchi.  The 33 Endurance came out as a replacement to the 31 Aquamarina and was replaced by a new second generation 33 Endurance in 2008.
