Projects: Intermarine 75, Intermarine 60

Brazilian Intermarine follows the announcement of its new strategy aimed at establishing an international quality renowned brand, and the showcasing of the new 55 project model with more upcoming projects all set to launch in 2011. Pictured above is the Intermarine 75 project which is designed by renowned architect Luiz De Basto. Measuring an overall length of 77 feet, the 75 is set to be in the water by mid next year. Here Intermarine and Luiz de Basto use there Mediterranean influences to create what is a European styled yacht both outside and inside. A flush main deck inside, and four double guest cabins all with personal heads characterize this very sporty looking motor yacht. The layout follows a traditional European plan with a welcoming saloon, open plan galley, dining table for eight, and helm station. Below is a full beam owners stateroom which features a walk in wardrobe, VIP suite to fore, and two double guest cabins in between. Impressive for this size of boat will be the crew lobby aft, which apart the two cabins will have a small L-shaped sofa, and a small galley with two burner stove and tub. Power for the Intermarine 75 will be standard twin MAN 1360hp giving 30 knots max, or optional faster choice of 1550hp which add top speeds by four nautical miles per hour. Designed again by a renowned architect this time by Brazilian Francesco de Almeida is the Intermarine 60 project. An interesting proposal the 60 has a Brazilian designer builder connection and as all the four projects so far presented by Intermarine new course is set to launch in 2011. The 60 will sit in the middle of the range between the 55 and 75 models. Interestingly going against usual production trends Intermarine has so far used three different designers for its project models; BMW Group DesignworksUSA for the 55, Franceco de Almeida for the 60, and Luiz de Basto for the 75. The 60 like the bigger 75 follows Euro looks both inside and outside. Its lower deck plan is a three double cabins all with private heads, and a two person crew cabin aft. As recent trends dictate the owners suite is a full beam mid ship affair, and a special note is that all three heads will have a separate shower box. The main deck saloon is a split level affair having a C-shaped sofa reserved for entertainment, and the raised part used for the galley, dining and a starboard located helm station. Special notes for the 60 project are the large glassed surfaces which make for a natural light filled environment inside, as is the well laid out flybridge and aft deck. For the 60 Intermarine have also followed a more normal size aft deck in line with current European trends. Tender stowage will be an aft up and down bathing platform. Power is twin Man 900hp which should give a top speed of 33 knots, and 28 cruising.

New Model: Viking 70 Enclosed Bridge

Built around the just launched Convertible version, is the 70 Enclosed Bridge model. Sharing hull and deck with the Convertible, the 70 Enclosed Bridge differentiates itself for having the closed top deck pilot house, making it an ideal choice for those who want to cruise and fish all year round. The 70 Enclosed Bridge will have an internal stair and external ladder communication layout with below. Inside the new top level of the 70 Enclosed Bridge features a central helm station, two relaxing co-pilot passenger settees to both sides, L-shaped sofa dinette to aft, and wet bar. In its small open aft section there is a jockey helm to use for docking and fish fighting manoeuvres. Down below the layout of the 70 Enclosed Bridge is the same as the Convertible with a four cabin plan lower deck having an owners stateroom to mid ship, and a main deck dedicated to entertaining and lounging in the best comfort.

Galeon New Web Site

It was just about two years ago when Galeon updated its website, but this Polish Eastern European builder comes again with a new digital showroom showing its way forward. This new website wants to show Galeon quality improvement in recent times which is not only in the sizes of its yachts today being up to seventy feet long, but come from the choices available being it woods, hard top, chromatic, and to the performance thanks to a hull design by Tony Castro which the company has been collaborating with since 2004. Polish Galeon was founded in 1982, and today it is a recognizable brand in Europe which in this year 2010 it has opened new offices in the US and China. The company has also been expanding in size. Two years ago its biggest build was the 640 Fly, but today it is the 700 Raptor Skydeck, with the 780 Crystal project what is a two feet super yacht shy flagship currently in development and set to launch next year. Privately owned with two building premises totaling 26,000 squared meters Galeon five hundred employees currently build a total of seventeen models from the 260 Cruiser, to the 700 Skydeck. Its most recent models are the 2010 launched 340 Fly, 700 Skydeck, 350 HTC, and 385 HTS. Two further projects the 385 Open and 780 Crystal flagship are in development stages. New Launch: Feadship 68.00m Hull. 801

Royal Van Lent Feadship has recently launched and delivered hull. 801 a 68.00m Feadship named Lady Christine to her owners. Built for experienced yacht owners who come from previous two smaller super yachts, this new Feadship 68.00m features a different exterior design from De Voogt architects, and a remarkable debut super yacht interior from British designer Rodney Black. Project: Jet Tern Selene 92 Ocean Explorer

Jet Tern announces the sale of a Selene 92 Ocean Explorer, based on the 86 series designed by Guido de Groot. Hull one is currently under construction and work is well underway on plug and tooling. The first sale of the series was concluded at the recent Cannes show on the French Riviera and she will be delivered in 2012 to the Mediterranean where she is expected to debut at the Monaco Yacht Show. This new Ocean Explorer range has been very well received as the Selene brand consolidates upon its successful Ocean Trawler concept to move into the 24 metres plus Super Yacht size. The 92 and 86 projects are the result of a multinational collaboration of designers and architects under Howard Chen leadership. Howard Chen has worked closely with renowned Dutch architect Guido De Groot and a group of International consultants to develop a contemporary take on the long range yacht whilst capitalizing on builder Jet Tern Marine high quality construction and reputation for experience and innovation in the displacement yacht sector. The 92 differentiates from the 86 for the fact that it is longer, as visual appearance are very difficult to find although the bridge side windows are larger, and to aft we have a single port hole per side instead of three. A first look at the 92 shows a number of the expected Selene family traits with her powerful raised pilothouse, Portuguese bridge, and bulbous bow. But a contemporary twist is also apparent in the addition of the large side windows in the hull and stainless steel anchor pockets, and I add what looks also a more low profile modern line. She takes the simple and proven concept of the fuel efficient and seaworthy long range yacht to a new level of luxury and with all of the advantages of fiberglass construction.

New Model: Vicem 78 Cruiser

Presented in the Cannes show the new Vicem 78 Cruiser epitomizes the three values upon which this Turkish boat builder is building its success; classic looks, craftsmanship, and total customization. Following the 92, the 78 Cruiser is the second model to launch in this line, and with a model designation of 78, but overall length of 82 feet it sits to the doorstep of Super Yacht size. Like any Vicem the 78 Cruiser is cold molded constructed that means total customization for the owner. For example on hull number one the interior was finished with satin-finish mahogany, accentuated by neutral-coloured fabrics and the discerning use of leather appointments. Other news for the first 78 Cruiser are large view windows in the guest cabins, situated in the full beam owners state room and the two guest rooms. Interior accommodation offers four double cabins, and three crew berths are located aft. Of particular big size are the flybridge, and the aft classic styled teak finished bathing platform. Power is twin MAN 900 or optional 1100hp engines.

Project: Hunton 50 Barracuda

Its very rare today to see a boat builder stick to its roots, but this has always been the spirit at British company Hunton, who has always concentrated in building fast sport power boats. Now this famed powerboat builder presents it largest project to date with the fifty feet Barracuda. The Hunton 50 Barracuda challenges similar fast boats from Europe or USA, and will feature a single stepped Vee shaped hull. So far we have no accommodation details but Hunton is promising a well laid out super yacht finished plan. Project Barracuda by Hunton is also promising a comfortable exterior having a full wrap around style protective cockpit, with helm and crew pods equipped with shock absorbers for the best comfort while underway. This is followed by cockpit seating, loungers and generous storage outside. Power is to be from triple Cummins 480hp engines with NXT performance stern drives which according to Hunton should deliver speeds around the 70 knots mark.

New Model: Maritimo M53 Cruising Motoryacht

Surprising its clients and fans Maritimo unveiled the M53 Cruising Motoryacht by surprise at the mid year August held Sydney boat show. This new model continues Maritimo Cruising Motoryacht evolutionary looks which take a bit from the sportfish convertible models outside. But the M53 Cruising Motoryacht as is actually all this line from Maritimo are more a yacht then anything else. Maritimo for the M53 Cruising Motoryacht basis itself again on safety features which make cruising more comfortable to the guests; as the walk around deck with deep safe side walk, two entrance extended bathing platform, and internal stair case to the raised enclosed flybridge. Interior wise the M53 Crusing Motoryacht offers a three double cabin interior with two shower heads, one of which en-suite for the owners room. Power is from twin 715hp Cummins.

Project: Hinckley T48 Talaria

Some names always create a stir when they launch a new project, and definitely Hinckley is one of those. This since 1928 founded company presents the project for the new T48 Talaria which builds on the eight model Traditional down East lobster boat looking range, and sits just behind the T55 flagship model. Built for an owner operator who cruises with the family the T48 will have a two double cabin interior, with a guest stateroom complimenting the master suite, with its own private head, shower and generous storage. Her living main deck with cockpit and salon are tailor made for entertaining with a split level, but fully opening patio doors joining the two areas seamlessly. For a company who built down East traditional boats all its life the T48 Hinckley is promising gorgeous proportions, with her waterline, sheer and tumble home all in perfect harmony. Her hull continues what we saw with the other new generation since the nineties motor Hinckley's with a redefined Vee shaped hull capable of challenging open water, yet with a draft of only just over two feet. Power is from twin 715hp diesel engines linked to Hamilton water jets which will produce cruising speeds of 30 knots and a top end in the mid 30s. The T48 will also be available in a flybridge configuration.

New Model: Azimut 48

Azimut presented the new 48 at the Genoa show. This new model is one of the many modified presented in this year's fall boat show season, and builds on the fortunes of the famed 47. The new 48 is on many aspects the same to the model it replaces but has been added with an extended hydraulic moving bathing platform aft, and different view by three vertical shaped windows in the mid ship guest rooms. Azimut for the 48 did not fiddle with the three cabins plus crew and the main deck layout of the interior, and the exterior looks are the same minus the changes mentioned. Which is fair enough considering that the 47 has always been said to have one of the most balanced design and layout.
