Seven Saved as Sportfish Boat Goes Ablaze in Ocean City, Maryland

Seven boaters were saved as a twelve meter sportfish cruiser went ablaze near the inlet to the South jetty of Ocean City, Maryland at 05:17 morning time of Sunday 28 August 2021.  The boaters were saved by a nearby boater, as Ocean City Fire Department responded and fought the blaze, with the boat ending wrecked.  The US Guard later came to the scene and cordoned the wreck.  No one was injured as an investigation is opened for the blaze.
The sportfish cruiser in this fire is a Post 42 Sporfisherman, the first generation as produced from 1975 to 1983 in 230 units.  The 42 Sportfisherman was a replacement to the wood build 40 Sportfish, and was replaced the Post 43 Sportfisherman.
