Announcing this project in the end of 2008 Trader debuted the 38 Sprint in the middle of this year and made its official presentation in last month's Southampton boat show. A revolution for Trader who has in the past embraced semi displacement cruisers and yachts, and this is the first for a fast sport cruiser, with a full planning hull type model. The 38 Sprint is a cool concept and may be is a real version how a British sport cruiser should look. It surely is made for an all weather use and its aft patio door which opens for two thirds, sun roof, and side-door by the helm make for a good way of showing this versatility. Other features for only 39 feet of length over all are full deep walk around side decks, a one peace windscreen, and the fore part of the saloon settee which turns to become a passengers and co-driver seat. The living area all on the main deck is equipped with a galley, C-shaped settee, and a single seat helm station. Below is two cabin single head layout, with owners master room to fore. Power is a standard Cummins 380hp, with optionals from the same US engine manufacturer of 425hp and 480hp all powered with ZF aft looking dual propeller pods. Max speed should reach 35 knots with the largest engine option.
