New Model: Ferretti 620

A launching in Genoa, this is the 620 which replaces and re-examines the 592, from which its origin and inspiration comes. A sporty evolution from Zuccon and Ferretti AYT which features several structural and decorative alterations, outside and inside which endow it with greater livability and comfort. Measuring eighteen meters the Ferretti 620 follows what was introduced with the 630 model in 2006 like single large side windows on the main deck, and the astern galley. With the 620 Ferretti aims to respond to the demands of owners looking for a motor yacht offering a balance between a compact exterior and excellent living solutions. The lower deck has two large guest cabins and a full-beam master stateroom with large, open view windows, typically a characteristic of much larger yachts. Externally, the profile has been made lighter through the insertion of four large windows in the hull: two large windows with portholes which can be opened have been fitted at bow, in the VIP cabin, and two oval windows with double portholes light the guest cabins. The cockpit has been extended in length and rendered more usable through insertion of a fixed teak table and relocation of the gangway to the left a typical solution for much larger yachts in order to make the access point for boarding more functional. Inside harmonious contrasts between the new flamed, bleached oak wood, the original biscuit colour of some structural details and the decor which plays with light colours giving a feel of contemporary elegance, intervene to move the space. The position of the galley has remained astern, as in the previous 592 which continues the continuity introduced by the 630 in 2006, now a feature of all the models under 66 feet of the line. The astern galley is one of the most copied features introduced by Ferretti but here an electric wall solution has been inserted which further increases both the aesthetics and onboard comfort. This wall, completed with the sliding door, isolates and closes the galley environment, turning the main deck into a living area. A number of changes have been made to divide the areas reserved for the crew, the engine room and the tank on the lower deck, resulting in more space and better quality of life on board in the owner area, too. In more detail, compared with the previous 592, the tank has been fitted between the owner area and the crew cabin. The crew now has accommodation which covers the entire width of the hull, with a porthole which can be opened and a separate head. The tank acts as further sound insulation, improving the acoustic quality of the master cabin, and decreasing sound levels by 3 dbA. Moreover, repositioning of the crew area has brought an advantage to the master cabin, too. A large head has been developed, which stretches out full-beam behind the master cabin bed. Ferretti 620 hull is an evolution of the 590, 591 and 592 and is fitted with twin MAN 900hp engines as standard or optional 1100 hp units which are propelled with line shafts and ZF integral Vee drive in semi tunnel props. This last feature of integral Vee drive is a first for a Ferretti, and to my knowledge also on a flybridge motor yacht. Speeds are a max of 33 knots with the large engine option, and 29 knots with the standard 900hp unit.
