Project: Sanlorenzo SL110 Asymmetric

Sanlorenzo presents the SL110 Asymmetric, the latest evolution of the shipyard's famous asymmetrical motor yacht line. The SL110A introduces a new architectural vision to the world of yachting, combining structural elegance and innovation combined with spacious interiors, flooded with natural light that blend seamlessly with the exteriors, offering a unique sailing experience that establishes an even deeper connection with the sea. The result of a collaboration between Sanlorenzo, Zuccon International Project for the exterior design, and Piero Lissoni with Lissoni and Partners for the interiors, the SL110A is the perfect synthesis of authentic design, functionality, comfort, and performance, with a speed of up to 27 knots from the large of two MTU engine choices.  As the latest evolution of the brand’s acclaimed asymmetrical line, it reimagines what a 33-metre super yacht can be, offering expanded light-filled interiors, seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and a deeper connection to the sea. Debuting at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival the coming September, the SL110A is a super yacht for owners who demand beauty without compromise, and versatility with vision. SL110A marks the culmination of a design journey that began with the SL102A in 2018 and evolved through the SL106A which this model replaces. Its elegant, timeless lines and carefully reduced stylistic elements create a refined profile that transcends trends. Subtle asymmetry enhances visual harmony while also unlocking more liveable interior volume. A technical innovation staggered gangways on the starboard and port sides allows the gangway area to be absorbed into the interior layout, further increasing spaciousness and comfort. The reimagined bow, developed with Lissoni and Partners, eliminates the typical aerodynamic “bonnet” in favour of a true sea-facing terrace, complete with integrated sofas and a swimming pool. The result is a minimalist yet elegant retreat, optimised for liveability and connection with the water.  A hidden hatch cleverly conceals the mooring area, ensuring cleaner lines and improved usability. The stern continues the design narrative, with references to the SL86A as launched in 2024. A transparent gunwale creates a seamless connection between cockpit and sea, while the pivoting beach platform reveals a garage for both tender and jet ski. Retractable stairs and gangways preserve the yacht’s clean silhouette. The versatile outdoor lounge on the main deck can shift from sunbathing to dining without fixed configurations, underscoring the yacht’s flexibility. The interior architecture of the SL110A is conceived as a continuation of the exterior experience. Large windows, retractable bulwarks, and sliding gunwales allow light and air to pour in, dissolving boundaries and enhancing the sensation of space. Guests can enjoy a lounge that opens onto the sea via a drop-down terrace, creating an expansive, immersive environment. It is this fusion with the exterior environment that enhances the experience of the owner and his guests, allowing ample breathing space in an interplay between the interior and the sea. To make this feature explicit there is a solution designed when the boat is at anchor: on the starboard side it is in fact possible to pull down the bulwark and thus open up a terrace overlooking the sea. The same effect is recreated by the gunwale that slides downwards, widening the window below to allow guests to fully enjoy the outside environment, being closer to the sea. At the heart of the SL110A lies the wide-body, full-beam owner’s suite conceived as a true sanctuary. It provides panoramic sea views, total privacy, and direct access to the foredeck pool. A private entry connects the master cabin with the bow and upper decks, allowing the owner to enjoy separation while staying connected with every corner of the yacht. This intelligent use of space elevates comfort and intimacy at sea. Below deck are four guest cabins; two VIP, two convertible twin/double and generous crew quarters with three cabins, six berths, and a separate mess to ensure operational privacy. The mezzanine housing the wheelhouse provides direct access to a flybridge offering the flexibility to create a sunbathing lounge, al fresco dining area, or private retreat with direct access to the pool. Dark wood panelling, coffered ceilings with resin finishes, herringbone patterns, and stone-effect materials define the yacht’s refined interior atmosphere. The owner’s bathroom is finished in luxurious Calacatta marble. The SL110A is more than a yacht it is a design statement, from the sculpted asymmetry that expands space and light, to the seamless interplay between interior and exterior, it redefines the relationship between form and function.

New Model: Ferretti 800

The first unit of the brand new Ferretti Yachts 800 was launched last July 18 at the Cattolica shipyard. The second generation Ferretti 800 completes the range renewal process begun in 2018 with the 670 as Filippo Salvetti now signs all the models of the range. The 800 also replaces the 780, the last of the seventeen years Zuccon design Ferretti yacht.  With an overall length of over 24 meters, with a version featuring a short swim platform available to comply with the 24-metre limit established by French law, the Ferretti 800 is the result of the Filippo Salvetti stylistic evolution for the exteriors and the Ideaeitalia team for the interiors, Ferretti Yachts 800 is designed to offer the owner peerless comfort and a superior on-board lifestyle, thanks to optimised spaces and meticulous layout planning. The most innovative features include large windows for uninterrupted views of the surroundings from the interiors, perfectly separated spaces to ensure total privacy, and optimisation of the exterior surfaces. Starting on the main deck, the seven-square-metre beach area is aft, with a cockpit featuring a spectacular glass parapet designed to extend the view outside and towards the beach club. The crew area, with three separate cabins is accessed from the port side walkway. Continuing through the interiors, the salon is bathed in light thanks to extensive glazing which offers uninterrupted views of the surroundings. The generous interiors are enhanced by the two-metre-high ceilings. Moving past the living space, the dining area contains an elegant table and the fully appointed and separate galley is directly connected to it through a sliding section of the bulkhead. Separate walkways allow the crew to enter the galley from the outdoor area and then access the wheelhouse without interfering with guest flows. The helm station can also be accessed from the hallway. The exterior living area forward features a sunbed and a forward-facing C-shaped sofa designed for comfort. On the lower deck, the sleeping area consists of a master suite, a VIP cabin forward and two guest cabins, providing a total of eight berths. All four cabins have private en suite bathrooms. The flybridge also stands out for its above average surface area of 40 m2. The al fresco dining area on the starboard side features a table and a fibreglass sofa with a large storage compartment incorporated underneath it. Project: Evo Yachts R4 Icone

Evo Yachts celebrates the tenth anniversary of the launch of the first R4 with a model that pays tribute to the shipyard’s history, and at the same time taking a new step forward towards an on-board experience increasingly focused on comfort, without however betraying the brand’s sporty spirit and the desire to offer maximum flexibility and customisation options. This model is the new R4 Icone, which will be given its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, featuring a hull about a metre longer than the original version, an aggressive bow, a new integrated design for the air intakes, and large windows in the hull sides that flood the interiors with natural light.  Designed by Evo Yachts with Valerio Rivellini to offer an incredibly comfortable and convenient lifestyle on board at any time of the year, while maintaining the boat’s dynamic performance, Evo Yachts’ new model has a main deck with an enclosed area covered by an aluminium hard top, built entirely by the Shipyard and a console clearly based on automotive design, featuring a large C-shaped sofa with a backrest that can be arranged to offer either a forward or rear-facing view, and a pilot seat that can be adjusted to various heights for perfect ergonomics. The living area contains a table that can be converted into a double bed and is completed by a kitchen unit, while a pantograph door provides easy access to the outside area. The XT platform at the stern, developed by the Shipyard jointly with Besenzoni, extends the surface area aft and brings it closer to the water, increasing the space and comfort on board and transforming the setting into a seafront terrace that can be configured and furnished as desired, to enjoy in different ways at different times of day.  Below deck, in addition to the fridge and storage area and a hallway, there are two large enclosed double cabins. The interiors are decorated and furnished to transmit a feeling of great warmth, achieved through the use of Alcantara, Alpi wood and various types of materials that share an appealing texture. The yacht is powered by two Volvo 480hp with IPS pod drives.  Like all Evo Yachts models, this boat too, which draws on ten years of experience and is the result of a process of continuous range improvement, can be customised in many different ways – including both the interior and exterior layout, for different types of owner from families to groups of friends, and for different needs, and for people who love spending time in the open air, to those who enjoy the cruising experience in Winter.

Express Sportfish Partly Sinks in Chiavari, Genoa

An express sportfish cruiser of eleven meters in length with one person onboard partly sank after it collided with the break wall of the Chiavari harbour, to the East of Genoa at around 08:00 morning time of Wednesday twenty August.  The one man onboard the express sportfish jumped overboard after the collision and was collected by the Guardia Costiera.  Following this the Guardia Costiera tried to tow the sportfish from the break-wall, as with the hull ripped from the collision it was taking on water and in risking of sinking.  It was later decided to leave where it is for the time and suck the fuel from the sportfish in order to avoid pollution in case the boat sinks, and surround it with a pollution boom.  The cause of the sinking was reported to be caused by an error of navigation, some unconfirmed news said the sole skipper onboard said that he fell asleep.  The one person onboard was not injured, with a plan to recover the boat set in motion the following morning.
The express sportfish in this accident is a Rampage 38 Express as produced from 1999 to 2011.  Rampage was co-founded in 1983 by Everett Pearson of Pearson Yachts and debuting with the 31 Sportfisherman in 1985.  Cruisers Inc will buy Rampage in 1993 only to cease operation on that same year, restarting it in 1999 with new designs and stopping it again in 2015.

Improve-it = Bellini Astor 36

Bellini present the Astor 36 as reinterpreted through Daniel Arsham’s unmistakable “future archaeology” aesthetic. Essential, clean lines merge with a visionary concept, where nautical design embraces the language of contemporary art. The result is a walk around sport cruiser with a distinctly contemporary character, also thanks to a meticulously designed color palette: elegant shades of grey and black are complemented by the iconic “Arsham Green,” a unique aqua green hue symbolizing the artist’s poetic vision, skilfully integrated into the hull line, console, hard top, and onboard furnishings. On the outside, this limited edition stands out for its custom-designed side air intakes featuring the artist’s logo, a hard top signed by Arsham Studio, and smoke-colored faux teak surfaces decorated with Arsham’s monogram. The dry-feel fabric covers the aft sunbed, enriched with a custom plate, while the pilot seats feature “Arsham” embroidery that echoes the project’s overall aesthetic. The helm console is notable for its steering wheel with the artist’s logo and a Simrad chart plotter wide navigation system, with an interface developed in collaboration with Daniel Arsham and Mònade Studio. The interiors are characterized by the use of customized fabrics and color schemes, along with two pieces of furniture; a mirror and washbasin from the Kohler x Daniel Arsham collection. Astor 36 by Daniel Arsham also introduces a cutting-edge technological innovation to the yachting sector: the Digital Product Passport, developed in partnership with Arianee, a French company leading in DPP solutions for durable goods. This digital document, based on blockchain technology and activated via a QR code on a card provided upon delivery, ensures transparency throughout the yacht’s supply chain and lifecycle, tracking all key events and enriching the owner’s experience with access to exclusive after-sales services.

Bill Healey 1927 - 2025

It is with great sorrow that Viking announce that William “Bill” J. Healey of Cape May and Mays Landing, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August fourteen, 2025, at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, New Jersey. He was 97. The former president of the Viking Yacht Company in New Gretna, N.J., which he founded with his late brother Robert T. Healey Sr. on April first 1964, Bill built a boat manufacturing empire in the recreational marine industry. He relentlessly encouraged and supported legions of dedicated shipwrights who designed and manufactured luxury yachts. Bill was intense and feisty, but beneath that drive was a soft heart and a deep bond with others. He valued his team with unbounded enthusiasm and commitment, often reminding them that they did not work for Bill Healey but that they worked with Bill Healey. A source of never-ending inspiration to build a better boat every day, Bill demonstrated his love for his boatbuilders by standing at the door every evening to thank and wish them a good night as they left the factory. He not only knew the names of hundreds of Viking’s carpenters, electricians, mechanics, designers, metal craftsmen, fiberglass workers and outfitters, but often of their family members as well. He cared for his Viking family, creating a factory health department that provided employees and their families free on-site medical care in addition to the company’s traditional health benefits. Bill was instrumental in modernizing the yacht-building business. He was ahead of his time, designing a tri-generation facility in the plant to provide power for its electrical, air-conditioning and heating needs. He built and installed a wastewater treatment plant, invested in a $1 million five-axis CNC (computer numerical control) router to design and shape parts and components for the factory and the boats, and added solar panels on the roofs of several buildings for additional clean power. Although Bill retired in October 2013, turning the throttles over to his son Patrick, he continued a daily presence at the New Gretna facility to the delight of old and new customers he would meet at the factory.

Antonini Navi expands its Sport Utility Yacht range with the SUY 110, the second yacht in the series designed by Fulvio De Simoni. In 34 metres, the La Spezia-based Shipyard and the renowned naval architect offer a compact take on the legacy of the SUY135, providing functionality, versatility and an incredible choice of on-board entertainment. Another distinctive feature is the innovative Raised Deck, which can be used as a 54-square-metre beach club and overlooks the garage, offering additional space for equipment or outdoor socialising. This area communicates directly with the Main Deck, creating a 27-square-metre lounge veranda with a dining and relaxation zone: one big space designed to ensure comfort, privacy and harmonious integration with the marine environment. The ease of connection between the various decks, another distinctive feature of the yacht, is provided by seven ramps up and four down that ensure functional integration and continuity between the levels. The refined and functional interior accommodates up to ten guests in five cabins, including a master suite with private studio. The lower deck offers two VIP and two double cabins, all with en-suite bathroom. The fully appointed crew area is designed for six people. Following the rise of explorer and cross over style motor yachts, power catamarans seem to be the next big thing in cruiser able motor yachts.  Iliad is a new name directed by Italian naval architect Riccardo Bulgarelli, and constructed at Zhuhai, China, debuting in 2023 with a 62 model, with this followed by this 53F.  Measuring sixteen meters of length and over seven of beam, the Iliad 53F started off to a flying start by winning the 2024 Multihull of the Year Award.  The Iliad 53F offers an accommodation sleeping six with an owners stateroom located in the starboard hull.  A single berth crew cabin is located to forward of the port-side hull.  The living is all on the main deck, with the standard layout offering an astern galley, dinette opposite, and a relaxing sofa to starboard.  The Iliad 53F is powered by twin Cummins 480hp for speeds up to 24 knots and a cruise of twenty knots, with a possible range up to 2500 nautical miles at optimum slower speeds.  Iliad also offers the 53F with e-motion hybrid power equipped to Volvo 480hp engines.
