A classic seventeen meter Hatteras yacht with four persons onboard ended aground near the North Coquina boat ramp, Florida on the afternoon of third April. Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services who shared the story on its YouTube page assisted the classic yacht, and removed it from the sand bar which in some places was under one meter deep, for a yacht which drafts about one meter and a half. Eventually the yacht left with its own power, which suggests it sustained little or no damage.
The yacht in this accident is a Hatteras 58 Motor Yacht Series II as designed by Jack Hargrave and produced from 1985 to 1987. The 58 Motor Yacht Series II was a replacement to the 56 Motor Yacht, and was replaced by the Hatteras 60 Motor Yacht.
