Six people were rescued as a 25 meter Princess sport yacht went ablaze near Illa Negra outside of the Ibiza Marina in Ibiza just before 20:00 hours of Friday tenth April. The boaters were assisted by the Maritime Rescue vessel Naos, who rescued the six boaters and then fought the blaze. Following no success in turning off the blaze the yacht was towed outside towards es Malvins were it was wrecked by the fire. The two crew of the yacht had minor injures and were treated at the scene, with both of them not needing to go to a hospital. The cause of the fire is not reported, with some news outlets saying the yacht was on charter duty.
The yacht in this fire is a Princess V85 as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2008 to 2010 in six units. Released as new flagship to the V series range, the V85 was replaced by the Princess V85-S.
