Project: Marlow 88 Explorer

The number 88 in the Oriental culture is considered the luckiest of all numbers. The owners of the newest model in the Marlow Explorer line up, the 88 ise indeed lucky to have benefit of all that Marlow Yachts has learned of composite and mechanical engineering.  This yacht is expected to deliver speeds in the 30 knots range with the large engine options, exceeding speed of many yachts this size despite having 20% smaller engines. This lofty goal was made possible by extensive experience in the 80 Marlows and continuing development work on underwater and superstructure drag reduction. The 88 Explorer will offer accommodation for four double cabins which include a full beam midships owners cabin.  Two cabins aft will sleep four and share a well sized shower head. Standard power comes from twin Cummins 715hp.  Long range economic runs at 8 knots will deliver runs of 4200 nautical miles.

Project: Marlow 49 Explorer

At the October 2013 Fort Lauderdale boat show Marlow announced that it started project plans for a new 49 Explorer model. In this new creation which took about two years in the making Marlow listened with special ears to its customers who have expressed a great interest in an exploror cruiser of this size range. Plans were unveiled at each owners party and the order for hull one finally arrived with a debut set for Miami 2015. Like all Marlow yachts the 49 Explorer will feature construction techniques with the finest of materials. It will exhibit the same grace, dexterity and reliability in performance and provide the quiet luxury, overstated volume and outstanding fit and finish that Marlow yachts share. The 49 Explorer will be constructed with Marlow's third generation radius transom, thus providing a significant gain in lazarette storage and cockpit areas. There are three lower deck options for stateroom configurations creating either two very large staterooms or adding a third with twin bunks for very comfortable accommodations. New Model: Marlow 62E Explorer

Introduced in February 2013, the Marlow 62E Explore continues the new series line from this US brand Asian build yachts.  The 62 E replaces the 61 introduced in 2004 with an innovation and more space being the key in the change of this new model. One short example of larger is that the 62E features one foot more beam then the 61 increasing space in every area of the yacht, both interior and exterior. The 62 Explorer also features additional fuel storage which equals more range, and less draft thanks to a reduced shaft angle which also improves speed and fuel economy.  Marlow says these shaft angle changes coupled with the less weight of patented Full Stack Infusion build, reduce fuel burn at cruise by 10% plus an extra 5% of top speed. Interior wise the Marlow 62E Explorer offers a layout with three double cabins with a full beam amidships owners stateroom with shower heads looking to aft.  A VIP cabin is to fore and this can be made to include two additional bunk berths.  A third guest cabin is located to starboard.  This cabin can be made as an office or a washing room. The main deck is a split level style with a large welcoming saloon.  The raised part features a galley, an L-shaped dinette to port, and a central helm station.  A crew cabin is located to aft which sleep three persons, and features a compact shower head.

Project: Marlow 80 E Explorer

Marlow presents a new project which replaces the 78, a successful model in this US brand China build range of yachts. For this new challenge the US firm was challenged by two previous owners to provide for specific needs difficult to meet in the 78 despite its long term position as the most popular large Marlow ever conceived. None the less, the engineering and design staff at Marlow put more than a decade of experience in building more than two hundred yachts to work and created the new 80 which features greater fuel capacity, speed, range and volume in every sector while retaining the signature look of the US brand. The interior accommodations reflects fine joinery while the Marlow designed and built exterior hardware is top shelf. The owners and guest cabins are remarkably spacious and well planned while improved insulation takes quietness to a high level of comfort.  Carrying 15,000 liters of fuel in proprietary tanks that allow a 97% capacity burn in complete safety, the 80 E Explorer hull allows higher speed at ultra long range and unparalleled specifications to the highest of classification societies. The Captain on board the new 80 will also have one of the finest crew cabins ever developed in a Marlow Yacht with a lazarette immediately behind able to hold bikes, inflatables, water toys and other cruising tackle, all finished to a high industry standard. Hull 80-1 will feature the luxury and weather protection of Marlow’s Command Bridge for best visibility and comfort in any weather. Power to the Marlow 80 E Explorer comes from twin Caterpillars 1676hp which will push her at speeds up to 30 knots with moderate load conditions.  Her 22 meters waterline length spells more miles traveled per tank of fuel and more choices in where refueling takes place, at the same time providing exceptional speed to travel to and from destinations and outrun severe weather.

Project: Marlow 58E Explorer

Marlow show the project for the 58E Explorer successor to one of its most popular models, the well loved and accepted 57. Building on that heritage and taking full advantage of our proprietary Full Stack Infusion methods developed at Marlow Yachts the company says the new 58E should bring value added improvements in performance, internal and external volume while keeping the distinctive and well recognized style the US company China build yachts are known for.  The new 58 features a full beam master stateroom similar to the 57 with added volume for the port side guest stateroom, one of three sumptuous cabins. Careful engineering has resulted in a 40% gain in fuel capacity compared to 57-1. Enhanced engine room volume, lazarette and crew quarters make cruising a delight, allowing greater range and more options as to the destination. With a waterline length of almost 55’ her ride is superior to other vessels of similar overall length with significantly longer range at ocean crossing speeds.  58-1 also features the semi enclosed bridge introduced in 2010 on the 70 series and provides significantly improved weather protection for the incredibly spacious and luxuriously appointed flying bridge, without increasing bridge clearance required.  The aft deck on the new 58 has grown significantly and features a most civilized stairwell to the boat deck above, providing easy transit with cocktails and Hors d oeuvres or in offshore conditions. The new radius transom is stylish and increases lazarette storage volume by approximately 30% again versus the 57.

Web: Marlow New Web Site

Marlow yachts is a US company with building operations in China and presents its new World wide web showroom.  Marlow was founded in 2000 with the concept starting to take shape in Marlow's head back in 1996.  The Marlow yachts are build in Xiamen China, at the Norsemen Shipbuilding facility which was also the first Yacht Yard to receive an Environmental Consciousness Award in 2007. The first Marlow was the 65C Explorer debuting at the 2001 Miami boat show.  Today Marlow builds a total of twenty models which start with the Gypsy tender, and goes up to the not so long ago presented 97 E Explorer flagship.  Marlow has also purchased in the end of 2012 the Mainship and Hunter brands.  Marlows new website takes you around with the following buttons; Home, Yachts, Prowler 375, Technical Info, News and Dealers, and Yacht Virtual Showrooms.  Marlow new website also features links to its Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin pages.

New Model: Marlow 97 E Explorer

Marlow presents its largest build to date, with the launch of the 97 E Explorer in the fall of 2011.  Marlow's flagship has already seen the hands for two owners, with hull number two delivered shorty after one.  The 97 E Explorer continues Marlow philosophy of classic US looks,  semi displacement efficient hulls, and spacious interior volume.  Accommodation is for a standard seven double cabins layout, with three crew rooms sleeping six members.  But the US company does make custom modifications as requested by clients on smaller models, so I imagine changes on the 97 are possible.  The Marlow 97 E Explorer is powered by twin Cats 1760hp engines which thanks to a rather narrow beam hull at this size it can achieve a respectable 29 knots top speed.  A cruise of 23 knots is possible with a range of 950 nautical miles, while a slow displacement speed of 9 knots gives a transatlantic 4000 nautical miles.
Technical Data:
LOA - 30.7 m (100.9ft)

This optional layout is perfect for the cruising couple who want to skipper their boat on their own along with having an occasional cruising couple on board. There is a crew quarter aft, with a double and single bunk, for those who prefer to have an on board captain and mate.  The salon is spacious yet cozy for very comfortable cruising and entertaining on board while the starboard built in desk allows you to continue your office work while away from home. The pilothouse station forward of the galley allows guests to gather at the settee with fold down leaf teak table for coffee and casual dining.  Her stunning interior will feature teak and holly high gloss floors throughout. The flybridge has an L shaped settee with BBQ cabinet offering another casual dining atmosphere.  For the tinkerers on board, there is a built in workbench and separate toolbox within the engine room.  Marlow Yachts enjoy the highest rating available under CE Ocean Class yachts but also feature “unrestricted navigation” certificates issued by Bureau Veritas.

Project: Marlow 76LR Voyager

Marlow presents the project for the 76LR Voyager what will be the first of a new line from this renowned Explorer Yacht builder. The Voyager series is not just a new fancy name to some different looking Marlow, but is also a new Explorer Yacht concept which according to its builder features a very efficient semi displacement hull. The 76LR Voyager should also have a bulb and feature pod propulsion. This configuration should give about 30% better speeds and range versus full displacement hulls, and allow for trans oceanic capability without the need of extra fuel tanks. The 76LR Voyager will also have solar panels above the raised pilot house which reduces the need of continuous generator running often associated with this size of yacht. Accommodation is for a main deck with a spacious saloon having a U-shaped galley, and a master stateroom to forward up three steps with full view. Below is the space for a lower deck featuring four staterooms. A galley area is in the companionway allowing guests to prepare coffee or a snack without going to the main deck. To aft is the crew quarters with two cabins and having a lobby equipped with microwave, refrigerator, ice maker, table and lounge. Aft of this is the toy storage area accessed by a large hydraulic door.
