Mulder present the project for a Favorite Fast  70, a remarkable evolution of the renowned Mulder Favorite line. This new luxury cruiser embodies the essence of an open “Fast” Mulder, adorned with a fixed bimini, redefining the boundaries of speed and design within the Favorite range. Crafted by Mulder, every inch of the Favorite Fast is a testament to meticulous attention to detail and super yacht quality.  The unmistakable Mulder touch is evident, making it instantly recognizable as a Mulder Favorite yacht. One of the standout features of the Favorite Fast is the fully integrated bimini roof design, seamlessly blending with the overall shape of the yacht and transforming it into a coherent sculpture. This design innovation not only enhances the yacht’s aesthetic appeal but also ensures a distinctive and stylish presence on the water. The emphasis on comfort aboard the Favorite Fast is evident with windbreaker side windows that serve as both a practical element and a beautiful design feature. These elements not only provide protection from the elements but also contribute to the  yacht’s overall aesthetic charm.  Designed for socializing and relaxation, the Favorite Fast offers different areas to entertain large groups of people. The upper deck cockpit comes with two layout options – one featuring a spacious seating area around the helm seat, and the other with a configuration of three helm seats, catering to diverse preferences. The Favorite Fast boasts a large owner’s cabin, featuring a forward facing king-size bed and a meticulously designed bathroom forward in the bow. This ensures a luxurious and private retreat for the owner, complementing the yacht’s overall opulence.  For added convenience, the Favorite Fast incorporates a dedicated crew area with its own exterior entrance, strategically separated from the guest seating areas. This thoughtful design ensures that crew operations remain discreet, allowing guests to fully enjoy their experience on board. The exterior of the Favorite Fast is a harmonious blend of functionality and sculptural elegance. The carefully crafted feature lines and shapes not only serve a practical purpose but also contribute to the yacht’s overall visual appeal, making it a true masterpiece in Mulder’s distinguished lineup.

Project: Mulder Fifty

Following nine hulls of the ThirtySix its was a nornal step up for Mulder Shipyard to introduce the project for a new Fifty flagship model. The aptly named design spans an impressive fifty metres, making her the largest yacht to be developed and marking the start of Mulder’s journey into larger super yachts up to 500 Gross Tonnage. The brief for the Mulder Fifty, featuring an exterior design by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, is to create a ‘fourth generation’ super yacht. The Mulder Fifty yacht will be built from a platform at the main production facility in Zoeterwoude. By building the Mulder Fifty in a continuous flow like the ThirtySix, the shipyard will be able to offer the possibility of optimizing her specifications and general arrangement and will borrow ‘engineered elements’ from the ThirtySix, to control production cost and continue working with her preferred suppliers. The Mulder Fifty showcases a light grey hull with tapered decks and aft overhangs. She offers a bespoke alumimium construction, with a slender hull shape to ensure outstanding seakeeping capacities in rough seas and enhanced comfort for those onboard. Designed to be just under 500 Gross Tonnage, the Mulder Fifty offers ample space for guests, both in her interior and exterior. With full-height windows in her main saloon and sky lounge, providing guests with breathtaking views, creating an opulent and relaxing space for the whole family to enjoy. As a result of Mulder’s ‘four generation’ philosophy, the Mulder Fifty presents a family-friendly and adaptable accommodation configuration. The standard design offers six sumptuous staterooms, with the possibility of adapting her sky-lounge to create a seventh suite on the aft wheelhouse deck. The lower deck of the Mulder Fifty yacht includes a side-boarding garage, capable of housing tenders up to 6.5 meters, alongside a spacious beach club area and gymnasium, with direct access to the main deck. Her 75 square-meter sundeck is sheltered by a sunroof and features a reinterpretation of the iconic Mulder wind-swept mast. This area encompasses a Jacuzzi, sun-pads, a cocktail bar, comfortable seating, and forward-facing observation seating, providing an area for both relaxation and entertainment. The foredeck’s ‘open plan’ design provides versatility tailored to meet specific owner requirements. In addition to the expansive saloon, showcasing the signature Mulder central bar arrangement, and the sky lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows; generous space is also available on her wind-protected aft decks. Guests will never be far from the water onboard the Mulder Fifty, thanks to her three-meter long swim platform, allowing for direct access to the water. The Mulder Fifty superyacht also has the option of including a pool on her aft deck. But for those looking for some adventure, Jet Skis can be stored on her bow, which also boasts a hatch-concealed anchoring arrangement. The lower deck of the Mulder Fifty accommodates a crew of nine across five cabins, alongside a large laundry area and crew mess. Her single engineer’s cabin situated on the aft of the yacht, close to the engine room, also provides direct access to the main aft deck. While a tenth captain’s cabin is located on the main deck, close to the wheelhouse. In terms of propulsion, the Mulder Fifty will not compromise on performance to ensure comfortable cruising and fuel economy. The option for a hybrid-propulsion system can be offered, to optimize her lightweight alumimium construction.

Dick Mulder 1962 - 2022

Mulder Shipyard is mourning the loss of Dirk Robert 'Dick' Mulder, who passed away on 24 July 2022 at the age of 60 surrounded by his family.  Born on 26 February 1962, Dick Mulder served in the army before taking over his father’s Dirk Mulder Senior shipyard in Voorschoten, the Netherlands, which only had one employee at the time in 1984. From the beginning, Dick built up the business to be focused on quality above all, paying attention to every single detail of the yachts that the shipyard delivered. Since then, Mulder Shipyard has delivered over 134 iconic yachts and has also been awarded three Superyacht Awards.  Dick was distinguished by his resilience, perseverance and bravery, as evident from his bold decision to build a brand new shipyard during the financial crisis. Always looking ahead, his son, Nick Mulder, joined the business twelve years ago as the next generation and represents a safe pair of hands for the business going forward. Words cannot adequately express the sadness at Dick’s passing for the whole Mulder community, and their gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. The Mulder team will honour Dick Mulder’s memory by continuing the work he loved so much and he will be deeply missed.

New Model: Mulder Favorite 2200

Marrying the classic Mulder Favorite lines with a modern twist, the 22.5-metre all-aluminium Favorite 2200 has been developed with unique specifications which work perfectly to offer exceptional owner-operated explorations in style and comfort. The accommodation on board the Favorite 2200 can be found across three generous staterooms. Her airy, light-filled master cabin comes complete with a desk, ample storage space, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with cupboards and a walk-in shower. Two additional guest staterooms are located aft, both of which include a Pullman bed. As for her styling, Miulder likes to work closely with the vessel’s owners in order to achieve a look which is both contemporary and totally unique, matching the requirements and quirks he likes. The Mulder Favorite 2200 is a true Dutch product, with naval architecture from Vripack Naval Architects and both interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot. Primarily designed as a spacious yacht for all the family to enjoy, the main saloon comes complete with a large seating area and a cosy dining space with a round seat opposite the dashboard. In addition, her generous onboard volumes allow for distinctive interior layouts on both the upper and lower decks. Crafted by Mulder with relaxation in mind, guests looking for a space to kick back and unwind are spoilt for choice. On the main deck, guests can enjoy spending time in a thoughtfully-laid out dining area complete with two large couches. A fully-stocked outdoor bar is located on the aft deck, and illuminated stairs lead up to the flybridge where another extensive dining area can be found. Below deck, another relaxation space can be found, complete with a couch, television and desk. More practical matters are also well taken care of by the Favorite 2200, thanks to her exceptionally large laundry room and spacious U-shaped galley which comes equipped with all the latest appliances. Clever use of storage space is a consistent theme on board the Favorite 2200 and continues below the lower saloon, where a generous storage area of twenty square metres can be found, perfect for storing cool drinks, foods and other perishables. Of course, it would be remiss not to make mention of the Favorite 2200’s flybridge. Its clever design is integrated in such a way that it disappears partially into the superstructure, meaning that the sleek lines of the profile remain intact. As an added bonus, it is possible to control the yacht from either the inside or from the flybridge. Both areas feature the most up-to-date equipment, comfortable seating and a couch portside so that co-captains can enjoy cruising alongside. A feeling of spaciousness can be found throughout the yacht, with all guest cabins boasting a ceiling height of two metres. Guests keen to stay connected with the outdoors can make use of the sunbathing area located on the foredeck. Naturally, however comfortable the yacht might be, there will be times when those on board are keen to explore further and get their pulses racing on the water. Here too, the Mulder Favorite 2200 does not disappoint. An easily-accessible tender garage is located in the stern of the yacht which houses a Williams 395 Sportjet tender, a jet ski and four bicycles. For ease of entering and leaving the water, the aft swim platform comes equipped with an automatic swimming ladder which can be electrically operated by means of a radio remote control or with a smartphone app. As is typical for Mulder yachts, performance is at the top of the list, with an efficient, fast displacement round bilged hull shape is powered by twin Volvo 1000hp engines. The Favorite 2200 quietly and comfortably reaches a top speed of 22 knots, with a cruising speed of seventeen. Alongside her excellent fuel economy and top-level sailing characteristics, those on board can also enjoy a genuinely comfortable cruising experience, thanks to the high quality noise insulation which can be found throughout the yacht. Finally, as is becoming increasingly important for the owners the Favorite 2200 also hits the spot for those looking to traverse further afield, and has an incredible range of 2,250 nautical miles at a speed of 10 knots.

Mulder New Web Site

Dutch yacht builder Mulder presents its new virtual showroom aimed at presenting its unique range of steel builds to the global community. Founded in 1938 by Dirk Mulder Senior this Dutch leading boating family of designers and builders has grown itself into a rather unique company offering also a diverse product range. When Dirk Mulder Senior founded the company at the still actual premises he was only 27 years old. The first builds at Mulder where of wood and sailing craft type, but the company also started to construct yachts with steel a few years after its founding. With steel always becoming more predominant in the builds in 1953 Mulder launched its first complete motor powered boat with the 7.50 Baby Favorite, followed in 1955 by a complete three models range of power boats. In the sixties the company extended the range with the success of the Super Favorite, building for a good period at least one every month of the new bigger three model range. In the seventies Mulder delivered its last sailing yacht at twelve meters in size, and started dedicating full concentration to motor powered boats. At the period Dirk Mulder also started to take it more easy and gave yard operations to an outside manager until 1984, when 22 year old Dirk Robert Mulder Junior took over the leading position, which he baptized with the launch of the three different sized Favorite Super range, marking also the return to a classic flared bow. The nineties began the expansion of bigger sizes, but also the use of new construction methods for the Mulder yachts upper structure now build of steel or alloy. In the end of the nineties a new Futura range designed by the A1 team and consisting of more modern looks was launched. The company has after this seen an expansion in sizes which culminated with the delivery of the Mulder 88 in 2001. In April 2013 Mulder new building facility was opened. Today Mulder offers seven ranges of models: Bellagio, Convertible, Custom Build, Favorite, Flybridge, Futura, and Voyager, which start at fifteen meter and go up to the custom Thirty Six launched in 2017. Mulder website is available in Dutch and English language and takes you around with the following buttons: Home, Our Shipyard, Our Fleet, History, Services, News, and Jobs.  Mulder is also on social media with buttons at the bottom of the page taking you to its Instagram, and Facebook pages.

Project: Mulder 36 metre

Mulder in the Netherlands has started construction on a new 36-metre motoryacht, the yard’s largest project to date and the second to be built to the exacting new LY3 standard. Having successfully delivered a 28.65-metre Mulder Voyager and the 34-metre custom-built Solis in 2015, this new 36-metre project is the next step forward for a Dutch yard that is making significant waves in the global superyacht world.  The fast displacement super yacht will be built with full RINA MCA LY3 certification and have a transatlantic range. Following a successful partnership on an earlier build, Mulder suggested to the client that Claydon Reeves Design and International Yacht Register serve as owners’ representative. The naval architecture will be taken care of by Van Oossanen, ensuring the finest sailing characteristics.  The new yacht will feature a bespoke modern exterior with a sleek aluminium construction and a continuous window line which culminates in a contemporary plumb bow. The design will feature the Van Oossanen patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) to ensure comfortable sailing and fuel economy at all speeds. This will not compromise performance as the twin 1147hp engines will ensure a maximum speed of 17 knots.  A full beam design will allow the volume and privacy in the owners area to be maximized. The slender, fluid design will go against the current fashion of ballooning beams, as the hull will measure no more than eight meters at its widest point. The slender hull and long waterline will together ensure outstanding sea-keeping capacities in rough seas, enhancing comfort for owner and guests alike.  Five spacious cabins on board will accommodate up to ten guests. The exceptional features of the full beam master suite will be heightened by dedicated access to a private seating area in the bow, a tranquil nook from which to contemplate the horizon. An impressive saloon, dining room and bar area will be located on the main deck, with floor to ceiling windows providing panoramic views all around whilst also flooding the interior with lots of natural light. The dining experience will be enhanced by the addition of a folding side balcony, which will bring seascape panoramas right to the table.  Further entertainment space can be found outside the saloon, where the large outdoor cockpit area will provide plenty of shaded al fresco seating and dining possibilities. The flybridge/sun deck above the beach club will include generous seating, lots of sun pads, a whirlpool bathtub with room for eight and a comfy dining place, a perfect backdrop to relaxing, sunbathing and socializing.  For those who wish to be closer to the water, the 36-metre design will incorporate a beach club that is substantially larger than what one would normally expect on a yacht of this size, with further seating and a small day head. This new 36-metre motoryacht is slated for completion in the summer of 2017.

Project: Mulder 2800 Flybridge RPH

Mulder introduces a new concept: the 2800 Raised Pilot House full beam. This 28 meter, round-bilge, all-aluminium pocket size yacht is easy to operate, suitable for both families and chartering, and possible to sail with a limited crew and low running costs. RPH stands for “Raised Pilot House”, which means that the wheelhouse is raised to a higher position on the vessel, giving the captain a better overview and allowing other valuable options regarding layout and usability in the interior. In this design “full beam” means that the saloon area has side decks, while the master suite forward on the main deck does take up the whole width of the yacht. This makes for spectacular views right out of the bedroom and a hugely enhanced feeling of privacy guaranteed by never having to worry about seeing crew members walking in-front of the windows. Another wonderful feature is the aft deck dining. The dining table is placed outdoors, under a sun-deck roof so that it would be out of direct sunlight, and we designed drop-down windows to port and starboard while completely concealing the main entrance doors. This resulted in a flush open deck floor plan of over ten meters in length. No steps or glass doors in-between means that the view is spectacular. The yacht is designed to accommodate ten guests and a crew of three, with the possibility for alternatives. The round-bilge, all-aluminium 2800 RPH offers an economical cruising speed of twelve knots and the option of achieving 15-16 knots or even more if required. Using aluminium instead of steel for the hull allowed fuel savings of up to 20% at low speeds compared to displacement speeds. Van Oossanen Naval Architects is responsible for the naval architecture of the Mulder 2800 RPH, Frank Laupman from Omega Architects designed the interior and exterior.

New Model: Mulder 98 Flybridge

The technical sea trials of the all-aluminium Mulder 98 Flybridge have been successfully concluded. The 30-metre custom-built Mulder with its stunning round-bilged hull achieved a maximum speed of 22 knots; two knots more than expected. Sound levels were also impressively quiet.  The Mulder 98 Flybridge had its global launch in September during the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show. In addition to being the largest yacht at the show, it is also the largest Mulder Flybridge ever built. The sea trials of the 30-metre Mulder were started immediately after the boat show; initially in Rotterdam and later on the North Sea from the port of Scheveningen.  The Mulder 98 Flybridge features a round-bilged hull and is powered by two Caterpillar of 1685hp each. This results in a maximum speed of 22 knots; two knots faster than expected. The yacht has a fuel capacity of 17,000 litres. At a speed of ten knots, this gives a Trans-Atlantic range of approximately 3,300 nm. Due to a special insulation method and her ‘floating’ interior, the sound and vibration levels of the Mulder 98 Flybridge are extremely low. In consultation with the owner, the yacht was built fully in accordance with RINA certification.  The exterior of the Mulder 98 Flybridge was designed by Guido de Groot Design, the naval architecture was realised by Ginton Naval Architects. The design is the next stage in the successful evolution of the Mulder range of semi displacement Flybridge motoryachts. She will appeal to an owner who appreciates timeless style over current fashion trends. Her dynamic lines and anthracite-coloured bimini emphasise her length while the softness of the yacht’s surfaces adds an extra air of class. Thanks to the generous length of 98 feet, the yacht’s proportions have been optimised and combined with maximum indoor and outdoor living space.  Omega Architects was responsible for the timeless, so called contemporary chic interior with a personal touch, where luxury and elegance can be found in every detail. Mulder's craftsmanship abounds throughout the main joinery, where brushed nickel lines are the main theme, resulting in beautiful and elegantly designed cabinets and walls. Luxurious fabrics of silk, wool and linen like Dedar, Pierre Frei, Elitis and Spinneybeck leather and wool-silk carpets of Tai Ping were used to bring about a sophisticated ambience of comfort and style. The entire custom-built interior consists of stained walnut. The dining area in the spacious saloon with its stunning Onyx Honey window columns accommodates eight people. The professional galley on the port side is fully equipped, including a steam oven, and offers a direct connection to the gangway. The main deck also features a day head. The owner’s suite on the lower deck offers a spacious walk-in-closet and large oval portholes on both sides. Additionally, the lower deck features a VIP suite and two guest cabins. All four cabins have their own shower and toilet.  The crew accommodations are located aft and include two cabins for four crew members. The crew quarters are accessible from the swimming platform and the gangway on the main deck, and also offer access to the engine room. The tender can be placed either on the swimming platform or on the wide flybridge. The flybridge also includes two lounge chairs, two large U-shaped sofas and a wet bar with grill, ice machine and refrigerator.  Initially the Russian owner of the Mulder 98 Flybridge requested a design for a 26 meter model. This was soon extended to 28, and in 2010 a contract was signed for a 30 meter9 Mulder Flybridge. The naval architecture of the yacht was started in early 2011, and the construction of the hull got underway at the end of that year. In late 2012 it was the first hull to arrive at the new location of Mulder Shipyard in Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk. The Mulder 98 Flybridge is likely to go sailing in the south of France in the spring of 2015.

Project: Mulder 34M

Mulder Shipyard is delighted to announce that they have signed an agreement to build a 34 meter motor yacht. This will be Mulder’s largest yacht built so far and also their first over 300 gross tonnage. With this order, the total number of Mulder yachts under construction is raised to seven. Mulder Shipyard already delivered a Mulder 73 Flybridge, a Mulder Favorite 1300 Cabrio and a Mulder 75 Wheelhouse earlier this year. British design agency Claydon Reeves will be responsible for both interior and exterior design of the 34 metre custom built, steel displacement yacht and the naval architecture will be the work of the Dutch Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Obviously the Mulder 34 metre will be built to super yacht standards. The Mulder has a GT from 315 tons and will be built under RINA LY3, MCA classification and transatlantic range. She will enjoy many features that are usually only associated with larger yachts, in both operations and design, and will surpass the highest expectations.

Project: Mulder 48 Saloon Boat

The ‘Built by Mulder’ label invites clients and architects to create a design outside the Mulder gamma, but emphasizes the superior Mulder quality. One of the ‘Built by Mulder’ successes is the 77 feet steel motoryacht “Eleonore”, that attracted a great deal of interest at the Amsterdam in-water Boat Show in 2009. This yacht was built to a design by Werner Yacht Design, who is also the designer of the 48” Saloonboat. The Saloonboat measures 14.42 meters will be built of steel. The 48-foot boat will be fully equipped with floor heating and will have a beautiful classic interior of Sipo mahogany. Three large sliding windows on both sides of the saloon create a tremendous spacious feeling while cruising the Amsterdam channels. Powered by 88 hp Steyr installation, the Saloonboat “has to become the most beautiful saloon boat of Amsterdam”, thus the client. The 48” Saloonboat will be constructed at the yard in Voorschoten and will be delivered in March 2014.

Project: Mulder 1800 Favorite

Mulder presents an important project of a new 1800 Favorite, extending the size of this line by two meters.  Since returned in 2010 to mark the Dutch builder seventieth birthday Mulder has delivered half a dozen of semi custom Favorites with designer Guido de Groot basing looks on the down East lobster boat lines.  The 1800 Favorite follows the theme of the smaller models from its layout to its hull shape in round bilge shape, and a variation of engines choices which offers the owner optimum usability for inland waterways or open seas.  The standard plan for the 1800 Favorite is a two cabins twin head layout with a galley bellow layout, but a three cabin version should be also in order.  The living is all located on the main deck.  Power is standard Volvo 330 up to 435hp in line shafts.  Top speeds of 25 and a 20 knots cruise are estimated with the larger engines choice.
