Prestige New Web Site

Prestige presents its new website.  Prestige was officially started in 2009, although the name first appeared in Jeanneau's model line up in 1989, when the Prestige 41 sport cruiser as designed by Massimo Musio-Sale and Vittorio Garroni, and naval architecture by Japec and Jernej Japokin.  The Jeanneau Prestige 41 was a good seller, with the first hull sold to famous French actor Alain Delon and selling a total of 45 units, but ultimately the model will only be produced for two years till 1991, and its platform used for the Ferretti joint venture Yarding Yacht brand and the 42 Fly and 42 Open models for another two years till 1994.  Eight years after the Jeanneau 41 Prestige is discontinued, the French boat and yacht builder now since 1995 owned by the Groupe Beneteau decides to return Prestige, and again gives design duties to Vittorio Garroni, as it presents the 36 with flybridge in the fall of 1999.  The Jeanneau Prestige 36 will start the Prestige line, as the model is followed by the Prestige 32 a year later in 2000, and the Prestige 34S sport cruiser in 2003.  Thanks to its nice design by Garroni and competitiveness the Prestige line is by the mid noughties a top selling name in the motor and sport cruisers from ten to fourteen meters in size segment, and Jeanneau notes this and in 2004 opens a solely Prestige factory in Nantes, with the plan to enter into the larger fifteen meters plus sizes, which it does in 2006 as it presents the Prestige 50S.  Seeing again more success Groupe Beneteau decides in 2009 to re-brand Prestige as an independent brand, as it launches the new Prestige 60 flagship model in that same year.  Following the rebranding Prestige keeps on expanding into larger sizes, as in 2013 it also launches the 750, which is produced for four years and still its largest build to date.  Prestige has in its story made two bold design choices; with the X-Line and M-Line series. The X-Line is a wide body volume focused series which arrived in 2019 and debuts with the X70 and is followed by the asymmetric semi-wide-body X60.  The M-Line comes in 2022 entering Prestige into the power catamaran segment with the M48, which is followed a year later in 2023 by the M8, what is Prestige largest for volume model to date.  As top sellers go the Jeanneau Prestige 34S from 2003 to 2009 is its best sold model to date with over five hundred units sold, and is followed by the 500 Flybridge and S sharing platform as produced from 2011 to 2019 which sells four hundred plus in total for the two model versions.  Currently Prestige offers thirteen models, divided into four lines; M-Line, X-Line, F-Line, and S-Line which start from the 420S and go up to the X70.  All Prestige models have to date been designed by Garroni, with the latest models being the F4.3 which debuted last January, and the upcoming M7 which is set to arrive in mid this year.  The Prestige web site is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Turkey, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese, and takes you around with the following buttons; The Brand, Our Yachts, News, Services, Our Dealers, Configurator, and Contact.  Prestige is also on social media with bottom page links taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and Linkedin pages.

Project: Prestige F4.3

Prestige has during the Dusseldorf boat show surprise presented the new F4.3.  The Prestige F4.3 is based on the 420 and continues the dot point evolution of the F-line which debuted with the F4 now named F4.9 in 2023.  Design duties are again by all time Prestige designer Garroni with interiors by Valentina Militerno de Romedis.  The F4.3, like F4.9 and F5.7 looks at the width to not only add space but present it in a more home comfortable dynamic feature especially to what regards the main deck.  The distinct bold design feature of the F4.3 is what Prestige calls the OceanView galley which is not only astern, but takes the full beam of the interior main deck, with the entrance to this area offered from the two side doors rather then the usual aft door.  This is an interesting concept and one which has never been done before, which uses the hated or loved free space more efficiently but also gives an interesting three part ventilation. Other design improvements in the Prestige F4.3 are the flybridge which is also extended to the beam, while the stern bathing platform area is now also offered with a wet bar on waters edge.  Down below the Prestige F4.3 is the least changed to the 420 with this offering a two cabins layout with a choice of two heads, or one bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe.  The Prestige F4.3 is to be powered by twin Volvo 440hp in V-drive line shaft for top speeds up to 31 knots and a cruise of 22.

New Model: Prestige F5.7

Prestige yacht present the all new F5.7, a flybridge motor yacht with a lot of thought going into volume and space in its design brief, and an unusual for these times and size forward master stateroom layout.  Designed as all Prestige by Garroni, with Valentina Militerno de Romadis for the interior, and Prestige Engineering doing the naval architecture and joining the dots together.  Versus most if not all of the competition in this size the Prestige F5.7 dares to be different offering a large owners stateroom forward layout, with a second VIP suite to midships port side, and a third cabin with twin berths to starboard.  It is not the first time that a forward owners stateroom plan has been tried in above fifteen meters since midships room became mandatory by the end of the noughties, with some of these projects having a moderate success.  Although this has happened more in the fifteen meter size, rather then the seventeen of the Prestige F5.7.  Dare to be different is the name of the game, some might say, and the spaciousness of the forward master stateroom offers the volume to back this up, with the F5.7 being one of the few yachts in its size to offer a three shower head layout.  Forward owners stateroom apart the Prestige F5.7 is also about its aft galley main living deck, which looks to be much more spacious to its beam, and also feeling liveable thanks to some interesting solutions which are not new, but seem to connect very well together.

Project: Prestige F5

During the Beneteau Group press conference at the 2024 Dusseldorf boat show, Prestige vice President Erwin Bumps announced the project for an upcoming F5 model.  Very few details have been given apart the above rendering and that the F5 is set to debut during the Cannes 2024 boat show, although expect the model to show up during the Beneteau Group test days in early Summer usually held in around mid July.  Since we have no details I can speculate a bit about the F5, and if this project follows the pattern of the F4 which is based on the Prestige 520, then I would imagine this to be based on the 590 model.  As is the case of the F4, the F5 will benefit from an important re-design and re-engineering of spaces to increase volume as possible, in its sixteen to seventeen meter length.

New Model: Prestige F4

Prestige has launched in the midst of Summer 2023 its new F4 model, a flybridge cruiser just under fourteen meters in length, with an important beam to size ratio.  Prestige F for flybridge bread and butter range has in recent times seen little novelty, with its last new model the F690 coming in 2021.  Looking at the details the Prestige F4 seems based on the 2017 launched F520, identical beam but also a similar layout, with a one meter shorter length. It will be interesting what the F4 will replace in the Prestige range, so far both the 460 and 520 are present in the website, but I do think that in the long run this replaces the 520 so expect a new F5 model in 2024 which goes in the fifteen to sixteen meter size and a similar styling to this new model. Many reviewers are giving the Prestige F4 top marks and calling her a segment re-inventor for its spaces and important beam to length ratio, which re-imagines the space inside by the width. Probably Prestige here has got a couple of lessons while developing its power catamaran range in the last two years, but I also think that it looked at the Absolute 470 which has an identical beam and a similar layout below with owners suite forward.  Still thanks to the important beam the Prestige F4 offers probably a best in class main deck layout here offering a spacious L-shaped dinette and galley on the main deck.  Down below the Prestige F4 offers a three double cabins layout, with an owners cabin forward which is in a mid high level area giving similar space to that of a midships level stateroom.  Also thanks to the beam the two guest cabins at midships offer more space then usual with the starboard cabin being particularly spacious, and offered with moving berths which become a double.  The F4 can also be fitted with an optional crew cabin aft.  Other details in the Prestige F4 are the near bulkhead free flybridge, protected by stainless steel railing, and the option to have a vertical seating on the aft deck for an open view aft, in lieu of the standard L-shaped lounger.  The Prestige F4 is powered by twin Volvo 480hp with IPS pod drives for top speeds up to 28 knots and a cruise of 22.

Project: Prestige X70

In 2020, Prestige is launching a new product line which will start with the X70 as the first model of the range.  This Prestige X-line is designed by its long standing designer Garroni, with the concept coming from Valentina Militerno de Romedis and here the French brand part of the Beneteau Group aims to reinvent spaces and ease of movement on board. Created in a spirit of a larger yacht, the X70 offers infinite possibilities, blurring the line between the exterior and the interior. Based on volume, circulation and light, this concept for a luxury crossover enables you to benefit from the full beam of the yacht used to its maximum resource, reinventing space on board thanks to the wide body design.  The X70 is set apart by a radically different use of space. A traditional Flybridge uses 70% of the beam of the yacht for circulation via the sidedecks. The X70 breaks with these codes, although in pure honesty it not the first motor yacht which is doing this.  Fair to say that the wide body was first introduced in the USA starting in the eighties, on some of the fifteen meter plus motor yacht models, and in Europe Conam first with the 48 Chorum did introduce this design solution in lower sub fifteen meters models as what looks a distance year 1988.  The Chorum line did eventually introduce a 54 in 1993, which became a 60 in around 2004, and then also the 75 model flagship in 2005.  Obviously yacht design has evolved since then and in the Prestige X70 we will see latest design evolution.  Some details I like is the flash deck fore deck, while the aft deck offers a huge amount of space for this size of motor yacht.  No details are plans given yet for the interior but Prestige says the X70 is offered in three or four cabins layout sleeping six or eight persons.  Crew accommodation is for two persons.  The Prestige X70 is to be powered by standard Volvo 900hp engines, with optional for twin 1000hp units.  Top speed is estimated up to 29 knots.

Immense windows feature prominently in the wide, elongated hull.  The Prestige 590S benefits from an optimised engine and control system with Cummins 600hp twin engines equipped with Zeus po drices. This configuration inherent to the tapered V-shaped hull enables facilitated handling by joystick. Prestige present its second generation 420 Flybridge model.  The new Prestige 420 features some important changes outside with a different line; fuller bow and larger hull side windows.  But the changes do not stop and also go technical, as it sees this mid size motor cruiser returning to traditional line shaft propulsion, from the previous Volvo IPS pod drive set up.  The Prestige 420 Flybridge features a two cabin layout two head layout, with the main deck presenting an astern galley layout. A single head version is also available replacing the second head with an utility room featuring a washing machine, while various wood choices are available for the interior fittings from Moabi, to Grey Oak, or Wenge.  The flybridge features a stair case to port side with an L-shaped dinette, sun-lounger and wet-bar to starboard, and helm station to port side.  An optional hard-top is available though personally I see it taking away not little from the lines of the 420.  Power for the Prestige 420 will come from twin reliable Cummins 6.7 liter block in 380hp and or optional 420hp engines.  As usual to Prestige an S version with hard top for Coupe lovers is also being produced, watch this spot to have more information on this new model.

New Model: Prestige 520 S

Prestige present the new 520 S, hard top coupe version of its 520 series.  As usual for Prestige S-Line range and designer Garroni, the French builder takes away the flybridge and presents a model with a sportier silhouette.  For the remaining the 520 S is identical to the Flybridge, and offers solutions which have been appreciated not little by the Prestige clientele.  One of these appreciated details in the Prestige line up, which has shown since some years now upwards of the 450 model is the separate entrance to the full beam midships owners stateroom.  Still the Prestige 520S has other couple of options for the new buyer.  From the choice of a single berth crew cabin or a tender garage, and that for a chaise lounge style settee or an L-shaped dinette for the aft deck.  The Prestige 520 S is powered by twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod propulsion which give a max speed of 27 knots and a cruise of 23.
