Colombo New Web Site

Colombo presents its new website.  Founded by Giacomo Colombo in 1956, he signs the yard as custom in Italy in those times with his surname.  Born 1931 and passionate about boats Giacomo starts to work in ship building as an apprentice, moving to work with Abbate and then with Cranchi, up until 1956 when he decides to go on his own.  He starts with a boat service centre Colombo Menaggio which in 1962 becomes the Riva Boat Service of Mennagio, assisting and servicing the famous runabouts from Sarnico. In 1969 along with long time friend Antonio Ornelli, Giacomo starts series production first in wood, then offering models in both wood and fibreglass, to switch totally to the new material of the time by the end seventies. Colombo was acquired by the Sarnico Group in Summer 2007. The current Colombo range offers eleven models and starts from the 25 Super Indios and goes up to the 40 Bellagio. Colombo was also a pioneer for fitting out its sports cruisers with mahogany finish outside but structurally build of fiberglass. The models offered in this finish are the 32 Romance, the first built in this technique introduced in the mid nineties and the 25 Super Indios. Colombo new website takes you around with the following buttons: Philosophy, Models, Dealers, and Store. Colombo is also on social media with links at the bottom of the page taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.

Project: Colombo 40 Bellagio

Colombo present the project for a new 40 Bellagio model.  Designed by Davide Cipriani from CentroStileDesign, the 40 Bellagio is the first Colombo from the Bologna based designer, who since being taken over by Sarnico Group in 2007 has given design duties to the Venice based Nuvolari Lenard who have designed four models from seven to twelve meters.  The 40 Bellagio is a sport cruiser with a modern style mixed with classic elements.  For example the 40 Bellagio will feature an extended large bathing platform, to a redesign of the aft deck layout, and large hull windows serving the forward cabins mixed with classic details like the large hull side engine air intakes, to the mahogany finished fore-deck, and wrap around windscreen.  The 40 is also the third Bellagio to come from Colombo following the 26 launched in 2009, and the 36 in 2010.  No technical details are as yet given for the 40 Bellagio, which will be presented at the Genoa boat show 2022.

Project: Colombo 39 Alldays

Colombo presents the project of the 39 Alldays, which is a restyling of the 37 dedicated to US market requests.  This 39 version is more young looking and abandons the classic contrasts of the original 37 Alldays, with the mahogany friezes disappearing and give way to metallic dark finishes that match the light grey colour of the side and the stern.  Furniture, textiles, accessories, express modernity, to conquer foreign markets with typical Italian style.  The 39 Alldays just as all the new Colombo since the Sarnico Group take over is a project of Brunello Acampora of Victory Design for the hull, and Nuvolari Lenard for the lines. The 39 Alldays just as the smaller 37 offers the layout plan which gives a high level of comforts with a living on the main deck, spacious aft cockpit, and lower deck sleeping five adults in two cabins below.  Power is from twin Volvo from 300 up to 370hp with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Colombo 36 Bellagio

Colombo present the 36 Bellagio project, second model of the new Colombo sports boat range, and third to come since Sarnico Group took ownership in 2007. The 36 Bellagio emphasizes, through a modern style, the values of quality and exclusivity of the brand Colombo. The deck has got a contemporary design that Nuvolari and Lenard have created for this new generation Colombo, while the famous naval architecture firm Victory Design by Brunello Acampora has designed the hull. Colombo's aim now owned by the Sarnico Group is very clear: to build a boat that distinguishes its owner, a product who now has a modern charm today, and a never ending beauty for tomorrow. In a classic and simple layout, the cockpit with its large sundeck and rich furnishings, shows its natural and timeless functionality. Its exclusivity depends on the design, the choice of materials and the infinite care of construction, a pedigree of Colombo boats since its name has been written on the ship side of its models. A novelty but seen on the just launched 26 Bellagio is the stern which turns into a gangway and beach, creating a distinctive feature unknown for its competitors. The bow with its flare and teak design, shows off the spectacular art of the master builders and the heritage of the Colombo shipyard. New Model: Colombo 37 Alldays

Big expectation awaits the Colombo 37 Alldays, which is the first complete new model to come out from owners Sarnico Group after taking over the legendary Italian Lake Como boat builder in 2007. The 37 Alldays also represents a new direction for the Colombo shipyard but also for boats in this highly competitive size. A separate bathroom with shower, head serves both cabins. The living area of the 37 Alldays is all on the main deck, with a spacious aft deck cockpit served by a settee, and a galley and C-shaped saloon inside. This part protected to inconvenient weather by a hardtop which features a glassed opening sunroof, and a fully retractable patio door. Furniture wood for hull number one is white oak wood. Power for the 37 Alldays is by twin Volvo 300hp diesel engines, propelled with the easy to use IPS pod drives. Speeds are a wide open throttle of 33 knots, and a cruise of 28 knots at half load.
