New Model: Hardy 50DS

Hardy part of the Cockswell Group since 2020 has delivered the first unit of the new 50DS, a fifteen meter explorer yacht. Inspired by the original Hardy 50, this striking Category A sea-going explorer yacht, designed by Andrew Wolstenholme for spirited all-weather cruising, is a smaller version of the traditional 65DS and now incorporates many new features. Unlike most Category A motor yachts, the new Hardy 50DS is capable of speeds in excess of 25 knots but is equally comfortable at 8 knots with a range of more than 1500 miles. Combining the practicality and performance of a rugged, go anywhere cruiser with contemporary finishes, fittings and internal styling, this design also incorporates the very latest technology, not to mention all the comforts of a home from home. As well as delivering a double-berth en-suite owner’s stateroom; two double berth guest cabins with shared heads and shower, a vast deck saloon and large protected cockpit area for reclining and dining in luxury, this particular Hardy 50DS also includes the option of a fantastically spacious flybridge, complete with open helm and aft deck, to enable al fresco dining beneath the stars, outdoor relaxation in the heat of the sun or an idyllic vantage point from which to admire the view. A full-beam bathing platform enables you to dive into the blue with ease as well as store a 3.8m RIB. A spacious lazarette beneath the cockpit sole provides ample space for the Seakeeper 6 gyro stabilizer and any number of water toys, bicycles and pieces of deck equipment.

Regal Cruiser Partly Sinks After Fire Saved in British Columbia

A twelve meter Regal sport cruiser with three persons onboard partly sank in Mcneill Bay, near Oak Bay, British Columbia, Canada at 13:30 of Friday seventeen May.  The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre was alerted of the twelve meter sport cruiser, that had an onboard fire in McNeil Bay, but when the Canadian Coast Guard arrived in ten minutes to the scene with the fast response craft, they found the fire extinguished with the boat now taking on water and sinking.  The Coast Guard first rescued and removed the three boaters from the sport cruiser and then towed and beached the vessel on the beach of McNeil Bay in order to avoid it from sinking.  Later in the evening a crane was brought in removing the boat from the beach.  None of the three boaters was injured, with the cause of the fire and then sinking not being reported.
The Regal in this fire is a 4260 Commodore as produced from 2002 to 2005.  The 4260 Commodore came out as a replacement to the 4160 Commodore with the addition of a T-top forward looking radar arch, and was replaced by the Regal 4460 Commodore which featured a fuller T-top and a longer extended bathing platform.

New Launch: Benetti 62m FB283

Benetti has in January 26th launched in a private ceremony FB283, a 62-meter full custom super yacht with a steel hull and an alumimium superstructure, tailor made for the owner like a bespoke suit. Signing off the entire project from a blank sheet of paper was Giorgio Cassetta, author of the exteriors and interiors, with hull lines and naval architecture by Van Oossanen. The Owner had expressed the desire for a yacht with four fundamental characteristics: speed, silence, long range and guaranteed fun for the family, and so it was: Benetti has built a yacht that makes the customer’s dream come true in every way, by tailoring it according to their desires, exactly like a bespoke suit. This was facilitated by the close and profitable relationship established between the yard, the project team, the designer and the owner, who was represented by Nicola Nicolai from Nicolai Yacht Consulting and Project Management, acting as advisor prior to the purchase and managing the entire construction process as owner’s representative and project manager. FB283’s exterior styling features extremely elegant lines, with a sleek bow and a stern sloping down towards the water’s surface, combined with the FDHF fast displacement hull meticulously researched by Benetti and Van Oossanen Naval Architects to deliver excellent performance. FB283 has a maximum speed of 21 knots and a range that makes it possible to cruise for long distances without stopping. Cassetta and his Rome based studio created a masterpiece of harmony, they have successfully conquered the art of purification to the essential and achieved the desired smoothness of surfaces. This coherence in lines can be seen as one of the studio’s trademarks. They deal away with unnecessary disturbances on the exterior design to leave the bare minimum of openings and gaps in the otherwise continuous surfaces. Seen from any angle, the yacht invites the viewer to run an invisible hand over the surfaces, smooth as a rock polished by a river. Deck fittings such as the massive oval capping rails, natural teak panels and solid wood and stone furniture give the vessel a “super yacht” feel rarely found on an Italian build of this size. Being entrusted by the Owner with both exterior and interior design, Cassetta added striking details to interface the two, such as the magnificent 6 x 2 meter uninterrupted windows on both main deck and upper deck. With a focus on comfort and conviviality, FB283 has been created with family life front and center, so there are plenty of storage areas offering space for all kinds of water toys and equipment for having fun in the water, including diving gear. Located forward on the upper deck, the garage is a veritable cathedral, with a side door and the space to contain a 10-meter tender, two jet skis and a second tender. A touch and go helicopter platform makes sure the owner and guests can reach the yacht whatever the location. FB283 construction process started during the 2020 lockdown period and as a result the yard made use of innovative and functional solutions. Thanks to the 3D technology used to develop the entire project, internal video calls to keep the owner constantly updated, and completely new working methods and timings, Benetti has once again expressed its full potential, showing that it can capitalize on its know-how and on winning production and engineering processes to breathe life into a one-of-a-kind Full Custom yacht. The capabilities and dedication demonstrated by the shipyard are the values that the owner appreciated most.

Project: Manda Yachts S09

Manda Yachts which arrived in 2023 continues to show its future with the project for a new S09 flagship model.  A project of Ceccarelli, the Manda Yachts S09 like the smaller S07 and S05 deceives categorization coming out as a super yacht in size with sporty features and fresh entertaining areas.  The selling point of the S09 as in the smaller Manda Yachts is the spacious aft just above sea level beach area which takes about 25% of the length of the yacht, and is connected to the lower deck of the yacht, which in standard plans connects it to the master stateroom.  The area is joined by three exterior entertaining areas, the aft main deck up top before going into the cabin, and the fore deck forward.  The enclosed living area of the Manda Yachts S09 is on the main deck, and it offers an L-shaped lounge sofa, dining area day head, a relaxing settee forward, and helm station to starboard.  The galley in the S09 is on the lower deck adjacent to the two crew cabins forward.  Accommodation is for four guest cabins, all with a private en-suite bathroom.  The Manda S09 also features a very invisible sport bridge accessed from an internal stair case, with this area offering a large sun-pad and a mini helm station to starboard.  The Manda Yachts S09 is to be powered by triple Volvo 1000hp for speeds up to 23 knots.

Cockwells Boat Yard Fire at Ponsharden Falmouth

Multiple crews from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service responded when a significant fire broke out at Cockwells Modern and Classic Boatbuilding Ltd pre-production manufacturing site at Ponsharden on 00:08 of the night between Wednesday and Thursday morning sixteen May. Falmouth crews were first on the scene and found the building well alight. Additional crews were mobilised from Tolvaddon, Helston, Newquay, Truro Community fire stations to assist, along with two officers and specialist vehicles from Perranporth and St Just community fire stations.  No one was injured in the fire with Cockswell later saying the fire damaged no boat and should have limited effects to the production of Duchy Motor Launches and Hardy Motor Yachts, and will not affect that of Cockwells’ Superyacht Tenders, which are built at Cockwells’ sister site in Mylor Creek Boatyard.
Cockswell was founded in 1996 and today offers a line of five series; Superyacht Tenders, Duchy Motor Launches, Hardy Motor Yachts, Commercial and Defence, and Custom Builds.  Cockwells pleasure focused brands are Duchy a down east inspired line which debuted in 2011 following the redesigning of the Aquila 27 mold, and Hardy which it purchased in 2020.

Rio launch the waited and anticipated Le Mans 50, the second in size of it's Coupe range, and first of it's Le Mans series which is to be followed by a smaller 45.  Based mostly on the Daytona 50 the Rio Le Mans 50 main difference is that it features more enclosed comforts on the main deck, thanks to a one part hard-top which stretches from the windshield and extends to about half of the aft cockpit deck.  This enclosed hard-top replaces the more open T-Top of the Daytona 50 model.  The accommodation of the Le Mans 50 is identical to that of the Daytona both inside and outside.  Considering that the exterior is used from fore to aft the lower accommodation deck offers nice spaces for two guest cabins and two shower heads sleeping four guests, with a free unit, in between the cabins.  The Rio Le Mans 50 is also offered with drop down bulk heads to port and starboard side, extending the space around the dinette and sun-pad around the aft deck.  The Rio Le Mans 50 is powered by twin Yanmar 550hp with line shaft propulsion for speeds up to forty knots and a cruise of thirty knots, with a triple 400hp Mercury outboard option also being available.

New Model: Holterman Xtreme X-54

Holterman like to call its small Xtreme X-54 as a pocket-sized superyacht, a legitimate claim due for the bespoke construction and custom features which comes even in the entry level of the Dutch builder futuristic looking Xtreme series.  The owners of the Xtreme X-54 required a relaxed and luxurious cruiser to enjoy on European rivers, made possible by a low height and collapsible mast for navigating inland bridges. The overall interior layout of the Xtreme 54 revolves around maximizing space. The main deck lounge has an extra-large sunroof which sheds lots of light on the seating area. A smart divider between the lounge and the galley doubles as an extra cupboard on the starboard side. The galley itself is highly spec'd and leads to a generous helm station. A bright and harmonious interior style with only a limited amount of wood is achieved by starting with darker colors at floor level and gradually lightening the feel using elements of lacquer and leather.  The Holterman Xtreme X-54 is powered by twin Volvo 175hp for speeds up to ten knots, while a cruise of eight knots will give a range up to 550 nautical miles.

Fire in Fiumicino Boat Yard Burns Four Boats

A fire in a boat yard located on the Tiber river in Via della Scafa, Fiumicino, Italy involved four boats and yachts from twelve to sixteen meters was started on 05:40 morning of Monday thirteenth May.  Fire fighters from the Ostia Vigili dell Fuoco responded to the fire with four trucks.  No one was injured in the fire, also because no one was in the boat yard when the blaze started with an investigation ongoing by the Carabinieri on how the fire started.
We can only picture one yacht in this fire, which seems to be a not so nice but probably practical for fishing conversion to a classic Akhir 16.50 m as designed by Pier Luigi Spadolini and produced from 1972 to 1978.  A replacement to the Atlas 16.90 the first Akhir for Cantieri di Pisa was a turn around in motor yacht design which then evolved into the Akhir 19 in 1979.

Sea Ray Burns Down in Sydney Harbor

An unattended eleven meter Sea Ray flybridge cruiser burned down to a fire which started when berthed at Birkenhead Marina, Drummoyne in Sydney's inner West harbor.  The fire started on 10:06 hours of Saturday morning eleven May with five trucks and eighteen firefighters arriving some minutes later and quickly worked to extinguish the flames, with the fire controlled at 11:00 before relocating the wrecked cruiser to the western side of the marina for complete extinguishment.  One marina worker who presented smoke inhalation was treated by paramedics on the scene and has since been given the all clear.  An investigation is ongoing to what caused the fire, but other news reported the boat went ablaze as she was being refueled in her berth.
The Sea Ray in this fire is a 36 Sedan Bridge model as produced from 2007 up to 2009.  The 36  Sedan Bridge was a bold move from Sea Ray, returning in a time where sub forty foot flybridge boats where nearly inexistent in the market.

Project: Baia Atlantica 84

The iconic Baia is finally back starting with this new project for the Atlantica 84 which is currently under construction in Viareggio.  Atlantica 84 follows the lineage of the 78 Atlantica which debuted in 2003, and was the first yacht to offer a disappearing patio door, which when open and hiding in the roof, made a seamless area from aft cockpit to the interior saloon up to the helm station.  Ultimately the 78 Atlantica will be produced in nine units till 2010 plus a single of the revamped 80 Atlantica which launched in 2014, just before the Neapolitan builder closed its doors.  The new Atlantica 84 is a totally revamped new model, wider by just short of half a meter to offer more spaces and unlike the classic model will also feature a sport bridge up top.  Accommodation will offer four double guest cabins.  Crew accommodation is for four persons with two cabins located forward and a galley with access to this coming from a separate stairway to starboard of the helm station.  In the plans shown in the Baia web-site the main deck will be offered with an option for a dining table for eight behind the central helm station, or a bar area with stools.  The Baia Atlantica 84 is to be powered by twin 2683hp MTU with Arneson surface drives for an estimated top speed up to 52 knots.

Stolen Sportfish Ends Beached in Vilano Inlet

A stolen nine meter express sportfish cruiser with one person aboard ended beached first and then partly sank in the South of Vilano Inlet, St. Augustine, Florida on the afternoon of Monday sixth May.  At first the sportfish cruiser was stuck in sand only for it to partly sink later on at about 18:00 hours, with the boat washing on the beach the following morning.  The area has had extremely low tides in recent days, and while the man onboard tried to deploy an anchor he was unsuccessful in minimizing the damage, with the situation turning from bad to worse.  The sheriff and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was on the case, with SeaTow entrusted for the salvage of the boat and removing its pollutants.
The express sportfish in this grounding is a Luhrs 290 Open model as produced from 1992 to 2002.  The 290 Open was a top seller for the nineties in its size and express sportfish type, also because of Luhrs custom inspired looks followed by a competitive price.  The 290 Open came out as a replacement to the Tournament 290 and was replaced by the 30 Open.

Apreamare is pleased to announce the launch of the first unit of the new Gozzo 38 Cabin. This event not only celebrates the launch of the long-awaited traditional inspired looking cruiser, but also confirms Apreamare role as an innovator, without losing touch with tradition as the historic Neapolitan shipyard has been known throughout the world for designing and building boats since 1849. Conceived by Cataldo Aprea and designed by designer Marco Casali and engineer Umberto Tagliavini, the Gozzo 38 Cabin evolves from the famous Gozzo 35, introducing new elements in the design for an extremely comfortable on-board experience. The 38 Cabin was designed to expand the internal spaces and guarantee greater protection and accommodation on deck, making it ideal for multi-day cruising in every season and sea condition, although Apreamare has offered similar solutions in the past on its thirteen meters plus and larger cruisers and yachts, it is the first time it is offering a fully enclosed cruiser at eleven meters in size.  The new Apreamare Gozzo 38 Cabin will be officially presented at the upcoming Cannes boat show followed with an Italian premier and the Genoa Boat Show the following week, where enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire this latest example of Italian nautical craftsmanship firsthand. The first Gozzo 38 Cabin will cruise the seas of Northern Europe, confirming the marine aptitude of this model designed for the owner who wishes to navigate comfortably all year round and in all weather conditions, even enjoying a multi-day cruise. This is possible without betraying the winning spirit that animates Apreamare’s projects: great seakeeping, hull stability, comfort, and beautiful shapes and lines that recall the centenary tradition of Sorrento gozzi.

Weaver Boat Works New Web Site

Weaver Boat Works presents its new web site.  Located in Maryland overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, Weaver Boat Works started out in 1998, when Jim started to make a life long dream of building his own custom sportfish which launched in 1999 and was sold a few months later.  Jim Weaver came from a construction company background, and owned various production sportfish yachts, falling in love with sportfishing after participating at the White Marline Open in the eighties.  A dream always existed to build his own boat and followed the footsteps of his father-in-law Bill Payne, who build wooden bay boats from 1956 to 1968.  At eighteen years old Jim actually helped Bill build a commissioned thirty foot bay boat.  In 1998 in collaboration with his captain Pat Rohrbach, Jim Weaver started to build his first boat, which was for the most part an own design, inspired from an Island Boat Works he saw hauled up and from which he took some measurements. The first Weaver, a 58 sportfish yacht which was titled Dream Weaver will make an important test to Mexico, and on its way back in Palm Beach ends up sold, which will make Jim build his second hull and sell it again, only from there on to become a full time custom builder.  Since hull two Weaver boat works are designed by Donald Blunt.  Weaver has since 1999 build 39 custom builds from 23 to 97 feet, and its currently building three other hulls.  Weaver new web site take you around with the following buttons; Home, Current Builds, Current Inventory/Specs, Weaver Past Builds, Merchandise, Fishing Tournaments, Videos, Galley, and Contact Us.  Weaver is also on social media with right top link taking you to its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Classic Hatteras Back In News After Abandoned in Charlotte

The classic Hatteras yacht Game is back in the news after it broke its mooring line and ended aground in Charlotte Harbor, Charlotte County, Florida on Friday third May.  Following this grounding the owner of Game is being charged for abandoning his yacht even though he recessed his title about a month ago following the incident with the US41 bridge, in Punta Gorda, Florida on third April. This is the third time Game ended aground in less to six months, with the yacht first ending aground in a Low Pressure storm which hit South West Florida on seventeen December, then it followed this with the fully news covered Punta Gorda bridge collision, and now this grounding in Charlotte.  As of end May, Game was still aground, with a court hearing going up on the end of the month.
M/y Game is a first generation Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht as designed by Jack Hargrave and produced from 1969 to 1977.  The 53 Motor Yacht was Hatteras flagship at launch, and one of its longest produced models, and including the second version which arrived in 1978 sold over 350 hulls in a nineteen years production up to 1988.

Project: ISA Yachts Unica 40M

ISA Yachts announces the sale and the start of costruction for the new 40-metre project Unica, a semi-displacement and full-aluminum superyacht with a draft of just over two meters. This super yacht fruit of the collaboration between the talented designer Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design and the famed technical department of Palumbo Superyachts, redefines the standards of excellence. ISA Unica 40M stands out right from its name that means unique specimen, without any equal in the international yachting industry. Based on the analysis of what the current market has to offer in terms of innovation, design, functional solutions and volume optimization, the project was developed creating its own unique trends. Among its main competitive advantages this super yacht can boast highly functional spaces or more generous volumes compared to other similar sized yachts. The length of the exterior decks and the large windows are just an example. The exterior design is fluid, with empty and full spaces chasing each other, creating a bonding and harmonious balance with the water. The lines flow towards both the bow and the stern, giving the profile a natural dynamism even in the presence of expansive superstructures. One of the objectives was to provide guests on board with a clear view of the surroundings, making the whole project look just as visually connected. The design is emphasized by a careful study of the lighting, which highlights the profiles and generates a glossy and welcoming atmosphere. The stern is a true haven of pleasure, it is distributed over three levels sloping towards the sea and has an attractive sunbathing area, a swimming pool and an infinity cockpit where the glass balustrade allows for an uninterrupted view. The interiors have been designed to guarantee maximum on-board comfort but above all to optimize every need. The owner’s area, located forward of the main deck, includes an office and a lounge with vanity, a double walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with two sinks. In addition, there is a sliding door to separate the bed from the rest of the area so as to ensure maximum privacy. The large side windows are impressive and allow natural light to flood the cabin. Two are the lunch and dinner zones, a more formal one on the main deck and a second one with a round table on the upper deck cockpit. Both decks are also equipped with living and relaxation spaces. Another distinctive feature of the project is certainly the large bow surface on the upper deck which boasts a sunbathing area and a space for entertainment. The fly deck is incredibly spacious thanks to its almost sixteen meters length and it includes two sunbathing areas, one at stern and the other one at bow, a lounge with sofa and armchairs, a dining table, a bar with stools and a round Jacuzzi. Below deck there are four double guest suites, three of which are VIP with double beds and one guest with twin beds, all with private bathroom. Crew accommodation caters for seven members and the captain’s cabin located next to the pilot house. The propulsion system includes 2 MTU engines with 1920hp each, capable of propelling the vessel up to a maximum speed of twenty knots and enabling a cruising speed of fifteen, with a possible range over 4,000 nautical miles at a speed of twelve knots.

Super Yacht Ends Beached in Spetses

A 29 meter Posillipo super yacht titled m/y Why with Greek flag ended aground in the Dapias area of the island of Spetses, in the Greek Aegean islands on the late morning of Friday third May.  Local news reported that the super yacht was trying to remove itself from the exposed North East looking pier which moors the yachts astern looking to the North West, after strong winds made it uncomfortable for the yacht in the last hours, only for it to end beached.  With assistance coming from the Greek Coast Guard and Spetses mayor an operation was started on the same afternoon to remove Why from the beaching, although this was more complicated then anticipated because of the strong winds, and the yacht taking on water.
M/y Why is a 2005 Posillipo Technema 95 as designed by Carlo Galeazzi and produced from 2004 up to 2008 in sixteen units.

New Model: Pershing GTX80

The first Pershing GTX80, was launched on April three in the port of Fano. The yacht has the sporty spirit and generous living spaces typical of the Pershing GTX range. The new Pershing GTX80, about 24 meters long, is the phenomenal result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari, design studio Vallicelli Design and the Group’s Engineering Department. The GTX80 is the first in 39 years of Pershing to feature a different design to that of Fulvio de Simoni, it will be interesting if with this new model Vallicelli will take design charge for the World famous and iconic Italian brand or if he will be responsible for the GTX series.  The interiors and exteriors on board the GTX80 communicate seamlessly with each other, creating a unique space and a new dimension of comfort. The yacht has two decks, plus a sport-bridge, and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests thanks to the new four-cabin layout. There is also a cabin with two beds for the crew. The exterior styling, in classic Pershing grey, features a number of innovative choices: designed without stanchions, it points up the near vertical bow and the continuous, slightly convex sheer-line. In the bow section, the bulwarks have been lightened by a longitudinal slot, while those in the stern have a dual function, both incorporating the winches and converting into lateral terraces that swing down. This is the first time a solution like this has been adopted on a Pershing model and the aim is to establish even closer contact with the water. One of the outdoor spaces that stands out most is the stern platform, which has three different positions, making it a versatile and extremely important feature of the boat. It can be left in the default position, raised using the dual linear lift so that it’s flush with the beach area, extending and integrating the aft living space in conjunction with the lateral terraces when open, and also used for launching tenders. The bright, airy spaces and extensive glazing on the main deck are a signature feature of this model. Immediately aft of the helm station, which is fitted with three 24-inch screens is a living area containing a generous corner sofa, a dining area.  On this first hull this was made in a formal version with free standing furniture, and a fully integrated galley/bar in spaces directly overlooking the cockpit. This innovative design solution again underscores the focus on creating fluid, intercommunicating spaces. The black elements in the kitchen area create a slight contrast with the pale parquet and are color-coordinated with the metallic silver lacquered ceiling, which features multiple intersecting diagonal LED lights that diffuse light across the entire deck, from exterior to interior in a pared-down design that focuses on multiple angles. The sundeck is very spacious at 23 square meters, it’s 60% larger than the category average, while at the same time guaranteeing internal space of gran Turismo proportions. This effect is partly due to the sleekly dynamic arch-shaped deckhouse. The hard-top available for the sundeck, this first unit has one is made of carbon fiber to deliver the utmost in performance and aesthetic appearance. Equipped with three 1,000hp Volvo engines with IPS pod propulsion the Pershing GTX80 reaches a top speed of 34 knots and a cruise of 28.

Saint-Laurent du Var Fire Destroys Five Boats Damages Two

Five boats and yachts between twelve to twenty meters where fire destroyed and eventually sank, while two yachts of nineteen and 21 meters received fire damage for a blaze which started at around 22:30 hours of Monday first May in Saint Laurent du Var, to the West of Nice in the South of France.  Sixty fire fighters with 34 fire engines responded to the fire, which was extinguished after four hours at around 03:00 hours the following morning second May.  No one was injured in the fire with the yacht marina of Saint Laurent du Var closed for the public the following day for clean up operations, while the prosecutor of Nice has opened an investigation.  From the photos and videos circulating on line the fire looks to have started from the second boat in this photo, which then jumped to the other three boats on its port side, and to the sport yacht in its starboard side.  The same marina had a fire which affected six restaurants in April 2021.
Three of the five destroyed yachts in this fire look to be a third generation Princess V65, second version Sunseeker 52 Manhattan, and a Canados 70S, with the two smaller boats so far unidentified.  The two damaged yachts are an Arno Leopard 21.50m Open left of the photo, and a Riva 63 Virtus to the right.

Project: Aicon 68 Vivere

Aicon presents the project for a new 68 Vivere model, a twenty meter motor yacht as designed by Sergio Cutolo and his team at Hydro Tec.  The Aicon 68 Vivere although not advised as such looks to be a replacement and possible evolution of the 66 Vivere, which launched in 2022 after being announced in the fall of 2019, the first and so far only model to arrive from the US American ownership of Marc-Udo Broich. The Aicon 68 Vivere offers an evolution in its looks with a forward looking radar arch on top of the flybridge, and more clean glazing serving the main super structure.  Down below the Aicon 68 Vivere offers a four or three double cabins layout, with one or two crew cabins.  Option also exist for the main deck, for a more convivial astern or cozy forward galley layout.  The 68 Vivere is to be build with resin infusion with top sides made of carbon fiber for more strength and less weight and a lower center of gravity.   Aicon has not announced power choices for the 68 Vivere but expect power options similar to the 66, which is powered by twin Man 1200 and or optional 1300hp engines.  The Aicon 68 Vivere first hull is set to launch in the about a years time, arriving in about the first half of 2025.

Palm Beach Boat Show Challenge

In the last years the Palm Beach boat show has become the third boating exhibition not only of the Florida state but of all the USA, growing in size and offering an interesting offer of debuting new models.  Can the Palm Beach boat show challenge the Fort Lauderdale or Miami boat show in the near future?  Founded in 1985, and distancing fifty miles North to the Fort Lauderdale show and seventy to the Miami exhibition, the Palm Beach boat show has been on a growing spiral in the last decade.

Palm Beach growing success is helped by the novelties coming from the boat builders.  The 2024 Palm Beach boat show for example was used to debut the new Ocean Alexander 35 Puro and the new Uniesse HTC5P outboard version.  While Aicon, Azimut, Grand Banks, Palm Beach Yachts, and Princess also used the show to present new upcoming projects set to arrive in the coming months and years.  The Palm Beach boat show looks to be mostly getting the attention of the imported yachts, rather then the USA makers, but with the importers becoming more important to the USA market in recent years especially in that fifteen to thirty meter size, it is a good spot light to have.

So let's return to the question, can the Palm Beach boat show challenge the Fort Lauderdale and or Miami boat show in the future?  Currently the Palm Beach show with over fifty thousand of attendees in four days does about half the numbers of the two other shows, so in the near future definitely not.  But due to the important dynamics and market size of the Florida State and USA for the boating and yachting market, the Palm Beach boat show will keep on growing in both its niche of medium to large sized yachts on show, as in visiting numbers, hopefully continuing to offer this in its successful personalized cozy boat show platform.
