New Model: Absolute 47 Fly

Absolute new 47 Fly represents the getaway for the Italian brand, who since its inception in 2003 have seen its client and fan base featuring an interesting growth.  During the initial years of the brand the smallest model was the 25, and now today it is the 47, which is even larger then the flagship model of the beginnings which was the 45.  This new 47 Fly replaces the 45 and although part of the Flybridge range from Absolute is an interesting cross model, as it takes in looks and ideas a few features from the Navetta range.  The three double cabins two bathrooms lower deck layout for example is similar to that of the Navetta 48, with the cross-layout of the owners stateroom forward having a lot of similarities, with the extra beam and length of the later offering that bit of extra space.  The 48 Navetta here features a difference having the choice of a crew cabin aft.  The 47 Fly as all recent Absolute features an astern galley layout, while the flybridge looks to be one of the largest in its size.  The Absolute 47 Fly looks bigger then it is thanks to a lot of vertical use of space.  The Absolute 47 Fly is powered by Volvo's new 480hp with twin IPS pod drives propulsion.

Project: Beneteau Gran Turismo 32

With the project of the Gran Turismo 32, Beneteau and Italian designer Andreani rethink the nine meter sport cruiser with some clever touches of space usage.  This a sport cruiser made to please boaters looking for an innovative no compromise use of space layout with huge rethinking going into the outside space.  For example outside the Gran Turismo 32, feels a sport cruiser but when you start moving around it has the feel of a walk around with easy movement between the aft and fore deck, thanks to an asymmetrical layout, and an opening glass to starboard side which makes fore deck connection easy.  Below the Gran Turismo 32 feature a wal-nut finished interior sleeping four in a traditional two plus two layout; convertible dinette to V-berth forward, and a midships cabin.  Also it is important to point out to the spaciousness of the shower head located to starboard which features a separate shower cubicle.  But the surprises of the Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 does not stop here and beside the innovation of space usage outside, the success of this model might come from the fact that it is available in both inboards with stern drives, and or outboard powered engines.

Project: Dominator Ilumen 42m Tri Deck

Dominator apparently will announce the sale for the Ilumen 42m Tri Deck its new flagship in the upcoming Cannes 2019 boat show.  The Dominator Ilumen 42m Tri Deck continues the evolution of the now fully dedicated upwards of 24 meters super yacht builder, and come from a design of Alberto Mancini, the designer responsible for all the Ilumen range.  The Ilumen 42m Tri Deck is set to be delivered in 2020, and is a triple deck super yacht with a hard top sun deck, and fast semi displamcent hull with bulb.  The Ilumen range was introduced in 2014 and from a unique model in the line up, has since then taken over the Dominator range.  This is a bit of a pity as I think the Dominator range of high quality semi custom motor and super yachts from nineteen to 25 meters did have a special place in the market.

New Model: Vanquish VQ58 Hardtop

Vanquish has launched the new VQ58 Hardtop, a sport yacht that expresses the Dutch builder philosophy of custom made to order build sport yachts. Two have already been delivered to Sag Harbor in the US and Estonia, three more are being built and a new order has been placed for 2020 delivery.  That makes a total of six VQ58 to be located somewhere near you in the the coming year.  The VQ58 is based on an observation that owners are looking for genuinely new and exciting designs, and the idea of every unit being made with customization in mind. VQ Yachts is known for speaking to visionaries, and a design language definitely not for everyone, and this new VQ 58 model is an excellent illustration of that fact.  Designed in partnership with Guido de Groot, the VQ58 has that distinctive VQ Yachts look and feel, and the trademark customization in terms of things like layout, structure and engines. Project: 3B Craft 31 HT

3B Craft from Italy presents the project for a 31 HT model.  The 31 HT shares hull with the 31 CC model, with a complete redesign to it's super structure transformed into a sport cruier with a three peace fully enclosed hard top design.  The 3B Craft 31 HT should perform extremely well, having a hull designed first for center console sport fisher, and second having a rare attribute in it's size of being propelled with line shafts.  This is a sport cruiser designed to cruise offshore, at an overall length of just over ten meters.  The 3B Craft 31 HT will feature an interior sleeping four in two cabins, forward owners cabin and a second cabin with two bunk berths.  Living will be all on the main deck, with C-shaped dinette and galley opposite layout.  The standard hard-top is open, though options exists to have the area closed with a patio door, or a vertical cover which gives the best of both worlds. The 3B Craft 31 HT is standard powered by twin VM 340hp, optional Volvo 370hp and or FPT 400hp, with line shaft propulsion.

A modified vinylester resin is used in the entire hull skin. End-grain balsa and closed-cell foam are used as coring materials in selected areas for optimized strength and stiffness while minimizing weight. The single integral fiberglass fuel tank, sealed to the hull with resin foam, is resin infused with balsa coring on all sides for stiffness. The hull-to-deck joint is mechanically fastened every three inches and fiber-glassed inside. For ease of maintenance, each engine and other critical machinery is located beneath electrically-actuated hatches in the command deck area. The Billfish Open is designed and built with many of the same mechanical systems, components and technologies found on larger Vikings. Examples include the Delta-T engine-room ventilation system and a fire suppression system that’s automatically or manually operated and tied into the main engine and generator ignitions.  Running gear includes Class “S” pitch tolerance propellers with dynamic balancing and bronze struts, sea-cocks and rudders. The engine-room, lazarette and forward bilges are painted with Snow White Awlgrip for increased visibility and ease of maintenance. A large center-line hatch gives you quick access to the engines. Project: Bluegame BGX70

Bluegame presents the project for its new flagship the BGX70, to a design of Zuccon, and engineering by Luca Santella.  This is motor sport yachting re-defined in quite a few lines, cause the Bluegame BGX 70 is really different to everything else.  From a certain view point, especially the stern the BGX 70 takes ideas from modern explorer yachts, think Sanlorenzo SX, Arcadia, and ISA Extra.  But forward and its layout re-invent everything else.  The look of the main deck and pilot station have a tug boat feel, with living amenities inside which double outside both forward and aft.  In the interior of the main deck a central pilot station features an L-shaped dinette to aft with a galley opposite to starboard.  From the living area is the access to the cabin area, and or two VIP suites located in the forward part as in the three cabin Lower Deck A configuration.  In the layout A the other half of the lower deck accessed via the large aft deck from a patio door, is all dedicated to an owners mini apartment welcoming him in a spacious lounge room, and forward of this featuring a full midships owners stateroom.  In the layouts B and C, which feature two cabins, the lower deck is all connected and will feature a C-shaped lounger in between the cabins, or two opposite settees.  In both these layouts there is a day head for guests upon descending from the stairs.  The Bluegame BGX 70 is to be powered by standard Volvo 900hp or optional 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives.  The large engine option allow for top speeds up to thirty knots, with the standard giving 28 knots.

New Model: Greenline 45 Fly

Greenline will expand their range of eco-conscious motor yachts at the 2019 Cannes boat show with the introduction of the new 45 Fly. This all-new model is already proving a sales hit with 25 confirmed orders and production capacity doubling to two units per month. Delivery time is now early summer 2020.  Greenline 45 Fly is unique in its sector, both in terms of its impressive variety of propulsion options and the choice between three lower deck layout, which offer from two extremely luxurious ensuite cabins with walk-in wardrobes or a three-cabin variant with two spacious bathrooms.  Thanks to the fourth generation of Greenline’s game-changing diesel/electric/hybrid technology no boat of this size offers the quiet, emission-free sustainable boating experience that the 45 Fly does. The combination of solar panels, an in-line electric motor and inverter-charger mean that 230V AC is available at all times without the need to resort to a noisy generator.  A significant added benefit is totally silent, emission-free cruising for up to thirty nautical miles at five knots, perfect for inland navigation or approaching anchorages. The Greenline 45 Fly is equipped with domestic-standard appliances including a full-size fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven and AC sockets so there is no need to use adapters. Every Greenline model has AC power as standard and the technology works constantly to maintain a stable feed of domestic energy without needing to resort to shore power or a generator.  Volvo Penta and Yanmar engines are available and, as standard, the boat is fitted with a pair of 220hp shaft drive diesel engines but up to twin 370hp motors are available for a top speed of 25 knots. For those craving higher performance and the ease of joystick control, Volvo twin 380hp and or 440hp are available with IPS pod drives propulsion, the latter capable of 30 knots. The shaft drive and IPS hulls are built specifically for their drive-train ensuring optimum performance whichever propulsion choice is selected.  Renowned architects JandJ Design are responsible for the exterior styling and naval architecture. Though Greenline 45 Fly may have a sporty profile and beautiful lines, it is a practical and spacious cruising yacht, ideal for extended stays on the water with family and friends. Between the sheltered cockpit, comfortable fore-deck with its collapsible canopy for shade and deep, well-proportioned flybridge, guests will always be able to find their perfect corner to relax in. Options such as the transom galley with BBQ grill and sink, and the hi-lo bathing platform are practical additions, which also offer an invaluable connection to the water. Here there is also dedicated storage for water toys with the option of a hydraulic hatch to make access as easy as possible.  On board, a new partnership with lauded Italian superyacht designer Marco Casali of Too Design lends a stylish, sophisticated air to the interior filled with natural light thanks to the liberal use of glass in the superstructure.  Greenline Yachts signature aft-galley configuration links seamlessly with the cockpit and puts the cook in the heart of the action whether they’re serving outdoor areas or the expansive internal dinette.  The 45 Fly is brimming with outstanding features but the amidships master suite is the ace up its sleeve. Fitted with a king-size island bed and flooded with natural light by its large hull windows, this cabin feels as if it has come from the class above. The ensuite is big enough to incorporate a separate shower cubicle but it’s the walk-in dressing room that really sets it apart from the competition. Fitted with hanging storage, drawers, bright spotlights and a dressing table, this is a slice of luxury unheard of on a craft this size.  Incredibly, in the standard layout configuration guests in the forward VIP cabin have a similarly extravagant walk-in dressing area of their own, providing unrivalled levels of comfort for all on board.  The forward VIP has over two meters of headroom and bathes in natural light thanks to eye-level windows that align with cut-outs in the forward bulwarks for stunning views across the water. Classy round portholes at bed-level offer ventilation without the need to turn on the air-conditioning.  Alternative deck layouts sacrifice the main cabins walk-in dressing rooms in order to make space for either a small double bed or pair of bunk beds and a sizeable wardrobe; three such generous cabins are a rarity on a boat of just fourteen meters. Though up to six people can comfortably sleep aboard the 45 Fly, its safe, protected side decks and the door at the lower helm plus a bulwark gate mean it is very easy to handle as a couple or even single-handed if required.
