Three Men Saved as Azimut Yacht is Wrecked Near Baja, Mexico

Three boaters were saved as the 26 meter Azimut yacht Gravity ended aground in Tijuana-Ensenada Scenic Highway, La Salina, Baja, Mexico at 17:15 of Friday eighteen September.  Bomberos Ensenada responded first to the grounding, and were followed by the Mexican Navy, with two of the boaters jumping off board, and the last one which is reported to have just had a knee surgery saved by the authorities.  The yacht is reported to have ended aground after it ended without fuel and no power to its engines.  Eventually the yacht was wrecked and totally destroyed after being battered by the waves for over 24 hours on the rocks.

The yacht in this accident is a 1999 Azimut 85 Ultimate as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 1997 to 2005 in 35 units.  The 85 Ultimate was replaced by the Azimut 85.
