It is always an important time when a builder goes above that 24 meter size. Dutch custom boat builder is not there yet, but with the project of the 84 Trawler it is surely setting its future to enter what is called the super yacht size. The 84 Trawler continues what we have seen from Privateer in smaller sizes, for a steel build sea worthy explorer type vessel with a full displacement hull. The standard interior layout will offer a four double cabin layout accommodation with two crew cabins aft. Interesting the standard plan offers the owners room forward which will have two shower heads. An utility room is located to starboard side below deck. The main deck offers a saloon, dining and galley areas, with the raised pilot house up six steps offering a central helm station and a dinette.

New Model: Galeon 500 Fly
Impressive is how Galeon turned around its stakes in recent years, and became one of the innovators, and this is not an accident since the Polish builder keeps on bringing important design first in each new model it launches. The introduction summary on Galeon website say the 500 Fly has no equal in yachting today, and on this we have all to agree. Transformation of exterior spaces have been coming since some years, and if my memory is serving right the first in this regard was the 2006 launched Mediterraneo 50 Continental from Italy and its side opening bulkheads becoming bathing platforms. Obviously Galeon takes much further steps to that, also thanks to the opening of flybridge side doors on what usually are windows, creates an unseen single level of entertainment from mid to the aft deck. But Galeon does not stop there and also reinvents the fore deck of its new sixteen meter motor yacht. I am sure some questions will be asked to Galeon about the structural integrity of all this, and how the bonding of the large windows copes in couple of years of usage. But till this moment we can just admire the Galeon 500 Fly and the innovation it brings to the World of motor yachting.

New Model: Ferretti 550
Ferretti has launched the first 550, the new model of the well-known brand, marking its return to the flybridge yachts production under sixty foot in length. When the first 55 foot hull was set afloat at the Cesenatico quay, powerful feelings of pride stirred up in all Ferretti’s personnel of the shipyard in Forlì, where the yacht was built. Interior and exterior fit-out, as well as all technical testing, certification test approval by RINA, checking of all on-board equipment and systems - will be completed within the next few weeks. Although just set afloat, the new 55-footer by Ferretti Yachts already enjoys a commercial success: three units have already been sold way ahead of its official world premier at Cannes 2015 show, slated in Côte d’Azur coming September. New Model: Cantiere Delle Marche 107 Darwin
Cantiere delle Marche continue to launch exceptional Explorer Yacht and here they are present the current new flagship the 107 Darwin. Weighing just over three hundred tons, and built in steel and aluminium for the super structure, this is the acclaimed Darwin Class range from Cantiere delle Marche. This new flagship confirms the ongoing strength of the Ancona shipyard, the world leader in the market of displacement yachts in steel and aluminum. The shipyard marks a new success with the first delivery of a vessel over one hundred feet. In fact, thanks to this delivery, CDM starts a series of launches all above 100 feet, having under construction two Darwin Class 102', one Nauta Air 108', one Nauta Air 111'. 107 Darwin meets the usual technical characteristics on which the worldwide success of this range is founded. In terms of style, Darwin 107' has absorbed all the updates introduced on the new Darwin 86 and 102 which include a more balanced longitudinal profile for a more contemporary style, increased window surfaces, lowered gunwale for a closer contact with the sea. From the technical point of view, the Darwin 107 is the direct development of smaller models and takes into account the feed-back from the navigation experience of the six preceding models that already sailed thousands of miles.

Cranchi is preparing itself for the closing of the 2015 season with a couple of important novelties. The 60 Fly was presented as a project to clients and dealers of the Italian company in Spring and is a further evolution of the 58 model, with important changes both outside and inside. The most distinct visible change outside is the large side glass surface on the hull, and the settee on the fore deck. Inside the 60 Fly also features important layout changes some being more surprising then others. The most surprising is the galley on the main deck which in the new 60 Fly has been moved to port side of the central helm station from astern. Below decks we have two important changes from the owners midships cabin which has been redesigned with the bed now looking to aft, and a third guest head being added to port-side.
