3 Rescued as Bayliner Cruiser Ends Aground in Lopez Island, Washington

Three boaters were rescued as an eleven meter Bayliner cruiser ended aground on the South side of Lopez Island, Washington state at 22:00 of Sunday second July 2023.  United States Coast Guard Northwest responded to the call, rescuing the boaters from the island with an air-crew.  The boat was reported to have ended aground following strong winds and rough sea conditions which dragged into onto the shore and disabled the vessels.  None of the three boaters; a father, mother and a son of fourteen years old were injured.  A salvage operation for the vessel is being organized.
The boat in this accident is a Bayliner 3888 Motor Yacht as produced from 1990 to 1994.  The 3888 Motor Yacht was a soft evolution to the 3870 Motor Yacht, replaced by the Bayliner 3988 Motor Yacht.
