Ocea shipyard in Les Sables d’Olonne is following the construction of the 108 Commuter, a fresh custom order for a 32 meter super yacht ordered in 2021 and designed by Pierre Frutschi, who also designed the previous last build the Commuter 90 launched in 2016. Ocea 108 Commuter will be the tenth yacht build by the French yacht builder and fourth 108, last of which hull number five launched in 2008 and shares hull dimensions with this new build and hull number four. The first 108 which launched in 2004 was a bit shorter and slimmer to the following units. Like previous Ocea, hull number ten is a custom build meeting the owner’s expectations in terms of equipment and space configuration, while relying on a time-tested design and proven solutions. In the spirit of all Ocea yachts, this alumimium ocean-going yacht will also be capable of circumnavigations in optimal comfort and safety. The Ocea 108 Commuter will also reduce the yacht's environmental footprint, in particular its greenhouse gas emissions, was the guiding principle behind the entire design. As a result, this will be the first Ocea with engines that meet IMO Tier III emission standards, allowing it to sail in Emission Control Areas defined by the International Maritime Organization. The yacht will also be equipped with the latest generation of batteries to keep the main on-board comfort features running at night without the need for generators. Ocea 108 Commuter will offer accommodation for eight guests in four staterooms, with crew accommodation for four in two cabins. Power will come from twin MTU 600hp engines, good for about fifteen knots max, twelve knots cruise, while an economic ten knots will give a range of four thousand nautical miles.
