Performance Cruiser Ends On Reef in Garda Lake

A ten meter sport cruiser with two persons onboard ended on top of the Altare reef, near the Garda Island to the South-West of Lake Garda, on the night of seventh July just after 2300 hours.  Immediate the assistance of the Lake Garda Coast Guard which deployed two craft, the new Rescuerunner designed for shallow waters operation and GC A58 boats for help.  The rescue operation was difficult on the night due to the bad weather conditions, with winds up to 25 knots which generated waves over one meters in height, and consistent rain making visibility tricky.  With a synergetic operation of the two boats, Rescuerunner retrieved the two persons from the ten meter sport cruiser who then later put them on GC A58.  After a medical check up both crew appeared in good health and where released.
The sport cruiser in this accident is a Performance 1001 as produced since 2020.  The Performance 1001 replaced the since nineties produced 907, of which it is an evolution, extended aft with the bathing platform and a modified cockpit layout.  Performance as the name says are high performing sport-cruiser powerboat mix which offer with the large engine option always speed above fifty knots.
