Ferretti Yacht Collides Into Tourist Boat in Miami River

A 23 meter Ferretti yacht named Destiny which was running a charter cruise was filmed as it collided into a moored tourist ferry vessel in the Miami River on the afternoon of Saturday 23 May.  The story was shared by The Qualified Captain on his Facebook and Instagram pages, who shared two short reels as the yacht collided its bow into the stern of the passenger ferry.  The cause of the collision is not reported, but is speculated to have been a problem with throttle response.
The yacht in this accident is a first generation Ferretti 780 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2004 to 2009.  The 780 was a replacement to the 76 and was replaced by the Ferretti 800.

Albermarle New Web Site

Albemarle from Carolina USA presents its new web site.  Founded in 1978 by Scott Harell Sr. in Edenton, North Carolina, Albemarle will debut with the 24 a year after it starts operating in 1979.  The 24 is followed a year later by the Albermarle 21, and then the 27 Express in 1984.  In 1986 Albermarle introduces the Jackshaft JPS technology, which allows to position engines at midships with a stern drive propulsion.  In 1990 Albemarle will change leadership as J.Scott Harell Junior takes over from his father.  In 1991 Mac Privott who was with Albemarle from the beginning in 1978 founds Carolina Classic, debuting with the 25 model two years after in 1993, this followed by the 28 in a little over a year.  Albemarle continues to grow in the new millennium and launches its largest 410 Express model, its flagship for 22 years, and the arrival of the 53 Spencer Edition in 2023.  In 2001 Albemarle moves into a new building site at Midway Drive, Thomasville in North Carolina.  In 2005 Albemarle joins Brunswick Corporation, who will sell to Scott McLauglin in 2009.  Scott will also buy Carolina Classic in 2011, although he will keep the two brands distinct, even if they offered a competing product of express sportfish cruisers. In 2015 Murphy Alternative Investments purchases both Albemarle and Carolina Classic, merging the operation into Albemarle.  Today Albemarle offers a line up of seven models which start from the 27 Dual Console and go up to the 53 Albe/Spencer Edition, with its latest model being the 45 Carolinian Fisharound.  Albemarle new website takes you around with the following buttons; Home, Videos, Boats, About, Dealer Login, Shop, Dealers, and Contact.  Albemarle is also on social media with link at bottom page taking you to its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Based on the now well tried-and-tested technical platform of the Codecasa 57 meters, F81 is featured by classic and elegant interiors and by the well-structured, sophisticated and comfortable ambiance that features all decks. The key element of the interior design of LEGACY 4 are the refined mahogany wood used for the cabinetry, the luxurious fabrics like velvet and silk used for the upholstery, the high quality marbles and stones used for some of the floors and furnishing details. The building, from the keel laying up to the completion, has been a three-year journey of a well consolidated work team, in which each actor has been playing a key role. Two Boaters Escape Azimut Sport Cruiser Fire in Miami Beach, Florida

Two boaters escaped a fire on a thirteen meter Azimut sports cruiser as it was cruising just before the Julia Tuttle Causeway before Alton Road in Miami Beach, Florida on the evening of Friday fifteen May. The boaters were first helped by a nearby boater, with Miami Beach Fire and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responding to the blaze and controlling it to the super structure of the boat. The two boaters were not injured, with one jumping to a concrete pillar, and another in the water and then picked by a nearby boater. The cause of the fire is as yet unknown and under investigation.
The boat in this fire is an Azimut Atlantis 43 as designed by Salvetti and produced from 2014 to 2020 in 140 units. The Atlantis 43 was a replacement to the Atlantis 44, and was replaced by the Azimut Atlantis 45.
