Camper and Nicholsons Yachting presents its new World wide web showroom.  Camper and Nicholsons commenced in 1782 building in its long history some legendary yachts as the Shamrock J-class series built for Sir Thomas Lipton to compete in the Americas cup.  Other notable builds are the Endeavour, and Velsheda, and lastly the super yacht Philante which at 1629 tons remains the largest pleasure craft ever build in Britain.  In 2001 Camper and Nicholsons Yachting arm was bought by Sergio Ferragamo also owner of Nautor Swan.  He restarted production building a series of classic looking express boats.  At first the production from 2004 till 2005 was made in the legendary Gosport Britain facility but in December 2005 this was closed and building moved to the Nautor shipyard in Scandinavia, Finland.   Today Camper and Nicholsons Yachting offers a total of five models from the 42 Endeavour, to the still in project 42 Filante which will be built in Steel and Aluminium.  Camper and Nicholsons new website takes you around with the following buttons; Company, Commuters, All Seas, and Contacts.

Project: Steeler 46 Panorama FlatFloor

This new project from Steeler and designed by known dutch firm Vripack the 46 Panorama FlatFloor is one of the most innovative to come around since some time.  To be build in steel and featuring a semi displacement hull the 46 Panorama FlatFloor shows innovative spirit first for its single floor interior and second for its immense use of window surfaces. Another innovation in the 46 Panorama is a Multifunctional tank which can be filled of air, diesel, and water. When filled of water the tank reduces the height of vessel by one feet making it possible to pass for most of the inland waterway bridges in France. If you fill it with diesel your range increases dramatically.  The standard layout of the 46 Panorama is a two cabins plan with owners room to fore, and guest cabin amidships.  All the cabins are located in the main deck flat floor area this also featuring saloon and galley.  Also various options exist for the guest cabin from a separate galley, to two single berths. Three different options also exist for the entrance saloon sofa area, from astern galley, two armchair choices, or two opposite sofa plans.  A semi raised pilot house area features the helm and a relaxing C-shaped settee.  The Panorama series is to be made in four models this 46 being the entry level model.

Project: Wider 32

One of the most appealing features of the Wider 150 super yacht currently in build is its capacity to house a 32 tender in the aft garage. The wet launching system designed to launch the tender allows the lazarette to transform into a luxury pool/spa area surrounded by a Wider beach. Tilli Antonelli and his design team have invested thousands of hours into the design and development of this vessel, keen to ensure that it is practical for use as a tender but also reflects Wider’s philosophy of innovation and initiative. The result is the new Wider 32, perfect for use as a super yacht tender or as a small sports cruiser. As you would expect from Wider, the 32 is easily distinguishable from other sports cruiser yachts. The dominant axe bow and low transom give the impression that it is leaping out of the water, eager to slice through the waves. Her slim ten feet less beam tapers only slightly towards the bow, giving maximum floor space for sunbathing and to facilitate stepping on board from a mother ship. This is a yacht that is perfect for use as a tender but can also be enjoyed as a standalone sports cruiser, fully equipped with an enclosed dinette area with two convertible sofas, galley equipment, and a separate head. The Wider 32 will be powered by twin Mercruiser 260hp engines, connected to Bravo stern drives to deliver a top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots.  Work on the molds of the Wider 32 is already under way. Assembly will be starting in March with a view to finishing the first unit towards the end of May.
