Improve-it = Azimut 88 Flybridge

For the second half of 2011 Azimut makes new improvements to the 88 Flybridge, second small in the famous Italian brand super yacht sizes and launched in 2009 as a further evolution of the 85 model.  These new changes  occur on the inside without touching the Stefano Righini designed exterior profile. But in the inside we have a change of designers with Salvagni taking over from Galeazzi and presenting two changes: the layout of the lower deck and the decor.  The first involved moving the bathroom in the master cabin toward the stern, thereby creating a buffer that isolates the master cabin from the engine room even more. The new layout also made it possible to modify the stairs, which now have a more discreet access into the suite. To port, in full light, a breakfast zone was created, with two armchairs and a table.  Corresponding to the opposite window is the vanity. The wardrobes are built into the walls and have a slightly larger storage volume. With the master cabin change a  second layout change was possible in the saloon, with the stairs going down to the owners room making possible to position the day bathroom longitudinally, with a resulting gain of space for the dining area.  The decor modification stands out immediately. All the forms have been changed with architect Salvagni, who designed the interiors, transforming the shapes by softening corners and creating curves. Breaks in continuity between ceilings and walls are seen everywhere. The system of portals that separate the rooms become a new loop system that invites passage through the softness of the rounded forms. Also in the master cabin the curves of the new decor are repeated, seen in a wraparound headboard that includes the bedside tables. Another instance of particularly interesting design is represented by the slits for opening the wardrobes: they design a soft shape, an invitation to open and enter into the comfort of one’s clothes. There is no lack for mirrored surfaces, which further augment the sensation of space.

Project: CRN 52m Classic

By blending the seventies and the eighties style with the technology of the new millennium, CRN, the ship yard and brand of the Ferretti Group, has created the new 52m Classic project.  The shape of the CRN 52m Classic are squarish, “pure” and inspired to the nautical period dating back to the seventies through to the mid-eighties and to two prestigious boats, namely the 47 metre “Azzurra” and the 61 metre “Il Vagabondo. The 52 metre mega yacht, was developed from the CRN naval architectural solutions, in collaboration with Studio Zuccon International Project and meets the ship owners need in a flexible manner. This new layout allows one to have closer contact with the sea, thanks to solutions some of which have already been seen on other CRN super yachts like the outdoor “beach club” at the sterns, the terrace of the ship owner’s suite, and the presence of the three tenders on board, one of which is eight instead of two metres long.  52m Classis will have five bridges which accommodates up to twelve passengers in five guest cabins; divided in a master and four guest suites.  Crew space will be for twelve members. Power is estimated at a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 coming from twin Cat engines.

New Model: Uniesse 55 Sport

Uniesse presents the new 55 Sport model, what is a replacement for the long standing since 2002 produced 54 of the same line which had an average market success.  Measuring over all sixty feet, may be the North Italian builder should change the name here the 55 Sport is based on the same hull of the old model but offers a complete redefining of the deck spaces both above and below. The main reason why this happens is because of the patio door main deck plan which separates living areas up top making it usable all year round, leaving below dedicated to the cabins.  Accommodation offers three double cabins with owners stateroom located forward, this feeling like being a full beam cabin thanks to the movement of the shower head to fore peak.  While Uniesse is not the first to do this it is good to see another builder choosing this type of layout, which in building stage is much more practical to the builder meaning less tooling costs. On the 55 Sport there is also a choice for a galley down or up layout, with the upper choice giving a third shower head.  A crew cabin is located to aft.  The 55 Sport also follows recent trends in tender stowage with the 55 Sport having a hydraulic up and down bathing platform.  Power is from standard 800hp MAN, or optional 1000hp engines which give top speed of 35 and 38 knots respectively.  A surface drives version option should also be available, this pushing top speeds to about 45 knots max.
Technical Data:
LOA - 18.32 m (60.10ft)
