Ferretti Group bespoke brand CRN announces the contract signing for a new steel and aluminium vessel with a length overall of 67 metres. Assigned hull number 146, the yacht’s design, naval architecture, engineering and construction are all fully customised. The client is represented by brokers Moran Yacht and Ship who are also the Owner’s representative and project management team. The New Construction Team negotiated the building contract, drew up the technical specifications, and will supervise the entire build. CRN Project 146 blends the shipyard’s design and build quality with the expertise and creativity of Italian architects Nuvolari Lenard, who developed the concept for the exterior styling and interiors. Sleek, streamlined exterior lines imbue this super yacht with an elegant aesthetic, reflecting the owner’s vision and requirements. Standout features include spacious outdoor entertainment spaces, a dive center and an extensive beach club with plenty of water toys for guests. The upper deck will host a touch-and-go helipad. CRN Project 146 has a state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion system for greater energy efficiency and significantly reduced fuel consumption. The shipyard continues to work towards conscious and sustainable yacht design, entailing first and foremost the development of energy recovery solutions and proper sizing of the ship’s equipment. The yacht is fitted with a heat recovery system that uses the thermal energy from the generators to heat the water in the pools, the water boilers and the deck washing system, helping reduce fuel consumption. A perfect combination of innovation and the finest craftsmanship, this is the 10th creation in CRN’s partnership with Nuvolari Lenard, the design studio that has worked on iconic, history-making superyachts since 2001, designing and styling both interior and exterior spaces. Another three full-custom CRN superyachts are currently being built at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, the multi-brand hub in Ancona: 67m CRN Project Maranello, 85m CRN project 144, and 70m CRN Project Thunderball, along with two 50m Ferretti Custom Line, two Pershing 140, two Riva 54 metri, and 26 other fiberglass Ferretti Custom Line super yachts from thirty to 45 meters.

Project: CRN 70m Project Thunderball hull.145
A new creation, unique and exceptional, is taking shape at CRN, with hull number 145 Project Thunderball. This 70-metre steel and aluminium superyacht is completely bespoke and handcrafted in her design, naval architecture, engineering and her construction. CRN's hull.145 combines the Ancona shipyard’s design-and-build quality and know-how with the experience of Vripack, which developed the external lines and the naval architecture, and the creativity of the Nauta Design studio, for the interior design and outdoor furniture. The brokers Y.CO completed the sale in August 2022 and are playing a key role as the Owner’s representative and project management team, supporting the Owner through the construction stage to the technical checks, inspection and acceptance as well as with the project management, the on-site supervision and coordinating the external contractors. This new yacht, will feature classic timeless lines with a striking sense of style that fully reflects the owner’s vision and requirements for a pleasure ship suited to long, pleasurable, contemplative cruises. This is a super yacht with a traditional elongated bow, a low profile and svelte lines like a sailboat, with curved bilges and a smooth surface. The entire design has been carefully devised for highly efficient cruising and comfortable, convenient manoeuvring. The owner is a passionate sailor, so a smaller sailboat will also be delivered to accompany the mother yacht. The superyacht will cruise in the Mediterranean and between Florida and the Bahamas, to be used as a base for diving, sailing and underwater fishing. CRN Project Thunderball will feature five decks with seventy metres in length and a beam of eleven metres and a gross tonnage of 1,100, accommodating up to twelve guests in six suites and fifteen crew. Project Thunderball Interior Design concept goes beyond time and fashion. It expresses a culture of the sea, a sophisticated collection of details, a combination of heritage blended with a refined contemporary look, fully reinterpreting them from the latest lifestyle point of view. The marine approach and high-end craftsmanship come together to define a new state of the art in yachting. The CRN hull.145 continuing the shipyard’s sustainability commitment through the use of a peak shaving system to increase energy efficiency and slash fuel consumption. Currently CRN is building three further custom yachts, from 67 to the largest ever 85 meter hull.144, with the Ferretti Group Ancona facilities also producing three other aluminium yachts for its other brands, and 27 Custom Line fiberglass yachts in build.

In 1964 CRN delivers its first build with the 9.6 meter Galatea, made of steel and aluminium and still to date the smallest boat made. Galatea was followed by a larger 12.5m Delfino II in the same year, with the sixties being marked by a total of 27 builds with the 34,4 meter Begheera launched in 1969 being the largest. CRN starts the seventies with the launch of the 23 metre Super Conero, and eight commissioned builds for Riva; six 21,61 Marco Polo and two 30m Vespucci one of which will be Carlo Riva's personal yacht. The nineties continue to lead CRN to bigger and larger builds, and in 1991 celebrates its construction no.100 to another new largest build to date with Awal II a 65,30 meters super yacht, its largest build till 2010. This is followed with more custom super yachts two of which over fifty meters, and in 1999 concedes with the change of ownership and CRN becoming part of the Ferretti Group. The new millennium starts with the delivery of the 61m m/y Nvmptia, the last craft directed by Nicolini, designed by Scanu and featuring a rounded canoe stern. With CRN the Ferretti Group strategies to re-enter into semi-custom builds with the 43 and 46 meter super yacht series, and also enters composite building first because of the Ferretti Custom Line 128 which was build in Ancona and gets rebranded as CRN of which six units will be build from 2004 to 2011, and again followed by the Navetta 43 produced from 2007 to 13 in eight units. The bow is vertical, not to follow the current trend, but to ensure maximum length in the water, thereby increasing speed and maximizing the forward volumes, where the garage is located. CRN’s Technical Department turned Nuvolari Lenard’s concept into reality by optimizing technical spaces with no detriment to the interior layout. The aft Owner’s stateroom, opens up to the al-fresco dining area. The upper deck, which has now become the Owner's Deck, includes a forward panoramic lounge that can remain, at the discretion of the owner, private or open. CRN 137 will features five decks and includes the Owner’s stateroom and five VIP cabins, hosting up to twelve guests. It will be equipped with two MTU 2011hp engines that will push it to a maximum speed of 16 knots. Three more vessels are currently under construction at CRN: 74 m M/Y CRN 131, to be delivered during the spring and presented as an international première at the Monaco Yacht Show in September; 79 m M/Y CRN 135; and 50 m M/Y CRN 136 “Superconero”.

New Launch: CRN 55m hull.134
CRN, the shipyard specializing in the construction of steel and aluminium pleasure vessels between 50 and 90 meters in length, held a private ceremony this morning to launch its hull number 134 a 55 metre megayacht that stands out for her very strong, unmistakable personality. This latest CRN launch is the outcome of the outstanding job performed by design firm Nuvolari Lenard, that pencilled her outer lines, and CRN’s Engineering Department, which was in charge of naval engineering. Nuvolari Lenardi had already successfully cooperated with CRN on other super yachts, including 43-metre 'Magnifica’, 46-metre ‘Clarena' and 'Saramour', and 72-metre 'Azteca'. Entirely built in Ancona, this yacht can boast a purposely strong stylistic identity, which draws inspiration from some elements typical of military crafts: square shapes, sharp lines, and innovative, sophisticated design solutions that distinguish features of the Ancona-based shipyard's brand-new yacht. CRN hull number 134 is named ’Atlante’, 55 metres long and having a 10.20-metre beam, develops over 5 decks featuring strikingly original solutions. Atlante is equipped with two 1649hp Cat engines that push her to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. The motor yacht will now undergo all final fitting-out activities and technical trials before leaving port and cruising in international waters.
