Two Super Yachts Wrecked One Damaged in Bonici, Montenegro

Two super yachts of 24 meters were fire destroyed, while another 29 meter yacht also received light fire damage in the yacht yard of Navar Marina, Bonici, near Tivat in Montenegro, with the blaze starting after 17:00 of Sunday twelve December 2021. The fire was attended by the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Tivat, who were later assisted by the Protection and Rescue Service of Kotor and the fire fighting ship Jovanna. While two yachts were destroyed, the fire fighters managed to control it and reduce the damage to other vessels and prevent pollution. The fire started in the 24 meter flybridge yacht see picture above, and then jumped to the pictured below 24 meter steel yacht Falcon located to its starboard. During the fire the 29 meter m/y Sara which was located to the port side of the starting fire yacht also received cosmetic damage on its bow starboard side. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The yacht which started this fire is a Pearl 80 as designed by Bill Dixon and produced from 2017 to 2022.  The light fire damaged yacht is a Custom Line 97 as designed by Giovanni Zuccon and produced from 2006 to 2012 in 22 units.

Tecnomar New Web Site

Tecnomar from Italy updates its virtual World wide web showroom to a new platform. Tecnomar is founded in 1987 by the Sarti family, as it buys performance offshore boat and yacht builder Bruno Benetti.  Bruno Benetti actually debuts the previous year in 1986 with the high performance 50 Offshore model as designed by Cougar. The 50 Offshore is followed in a year by three smaller 35 to 45 foot models, who like the bigger sister are also powerboat style cruisers and designed by Cougar.  In 1991 the Bruno Benetti name is removed as Tecnomar starts to label the models only with its name.  In 1993 with the launch of the three cabin TB 58 Tecnomar offers its first more comfort orientated sport yacht.  In 1997 Tecnomar builds its first super 24 metres plus size yacht with the different to its usual offer only one custom build Ventoteso 35, a displacement ship style yacht as designed by Vripack and build of steel.  The one off Ventoteso 35 is the only Tecnomar build of steel to date.  The second super yacht comes three years later in 2001 as Tecnomar launch the semi-custom super sport yacht production Velvet 24 model. In the new millennium Tecnomar expands the semi production super yacht 24 meters and bigger offer, and by 2004 the company delivered its bigger yacht under the old Sarti management with the 35 Velvet, the first hull commissioned by renowned football player and manager Roberto Mancini. In January 2009 Tecnomar changes ownership and becomes part of the Italian Sea Group with Giovanni Costantino taking the role of Chairman and CEO, and production moving a bit further North to Massa Carrara. Tecnomar largest build to date is the 45m Nadara launched in 2010 and able to reach max speeds up to thirty knots.  Today Tecnomar currently offers six models divided in three different ranges; T-Evo, Multihull, and Tecnomar for Lamborghini build in aluminium and or fibreglass.  The range offer starts from social media's favorite yacht the twenty meter Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, and goes up to the T-Evo 155 for length or the C 145 catamaran for volume. The new Tecnomar web showroom takes you around with the following main buttons: Home, Brand, Fleet, News and Events,  Contacts and Sales Network, and The Italian Sea Group.  Tecnomar is also on social media with bottom right links taking you to the brands Facebook, Instagram, and Threads company pages.

Project: Sanlorenzo SHE 25.5 m

Sanlorenzo has presented an intriguing project as it presented the SHE 25.5 meter, a perfect execution and lesson how to bring the school of past yacht design gone by in the present and into the future. SHE is offered as an exclusive production, although no numbers have been given if it be will produced in two or ten units.  Probably Sanlorenzo is gauging interest from the project as it was announced.  Designed by Sanlorenzo lead designer since 2018 Bernardo Zuccon for exterior and Pierro Lissoni for interior, SHE is short for Sanlorenzo Heritage and gets inspiration and pays tribute to the sixties produced timeless classics that shaped that decade as the Sanlorenzo Super Garuda, but also other notable Italian classic's like the Baglietto Maiorca, Cantieri di Pisa Pegaso, and Picchiotti Mistal.  Zuccon evolved to perfection a style of yacht which was forgotten bringing the past into the future, with details as the raised cabin deck, and classic squared stern being distinct details of the SHE project. But beyond the exterior Sanlorenzo SHE is a yacht launched into the future powered by twin Volvo 1000hp coupled to the IPS pod drives hybrid electric system. This hybrid propulsion set up will give a twenty knots cruise speed and a nine knots electric only cruise. The hybrid system also gives a triple functionality; full-electric propulsion for quiet cruising, automatic battery recharge in less to an hour to full during diesel navigation enabling overnight stays without generator use, and a booster mode that adds electric thrust to diesel propulsion enhancing performance while reducing engine RPM. Adding to its green credit SHE is also to feature a special four meter bespoke carbon fibre build electric tender. As layout goes Sanlorenzo SHE will feature more then you think innovative exteriors and interiors. The classic stern, discreet and compact while navigating, opens at anchor transforming itself into a large sea-level terrace that expands the yacht’s spatial experience and reflects the customers’ demand for openness and versatility. The Main deck unfolds on a single level, free from physical barriers. The cockpit, spacious and adaptable, becoming a blank canvas for the owner to personalise, blending relaxation and conviviality with ease. The deck is finished with a sustainable synthetic reinterpretation of natural teak. Selected for its near-zero maintenance and a surface temperature reduced by up to four degrees centigrade, it delivers all these practical benefits without sacrificing timeless elegance. The superstructure is developed across two staggered levels. At the bow, a dedicated relaxation area with solarium is complemented by an up top Sun deck, where every function is calibrated to minimize visual impact and elevate the yacht’s skyline. SHE also offers the Smart Island system a modular outdoor composition allowing for flexible configurations both on the Sun deck and in the cockpit, without the need for fixed elements that would obstruct the transparency of the surrounding glazing. The interior layout is classic, with essential customisation options that allow the owner to tailor the onboard experience. The onboard architecture unfolds across three levels, including a raised mid level mezzanine acting as a connective hinge between the Main and Lower decks. At stern, the living area hosts a lounge, bar and helm station; a fluid, convivial space designed for both navigation and relaxation. The main salon, elevated and directly connected to the cockpit, features full-height glazing that provides a harmonious relationship with the sea. A sculptural circular staircase leads to the slightly lower mezzanine, which houses the dining area, directly linked to a spacious, fully equipped galley and the crew quarters located forward. This intermediate level benefits from natural light filtered through the superstructure’s glazing, creating a soft, atmospheric transition between spaces. The Lower deck accommodates a full-beam owner’s cabin at the stern, followed by a VIP cabin and a guest cabin, all en-suite and characterized by luminous interiors, refined materials and a sense of quiet precision. The crew area, located forward, includes two cabins for three crew members and a spacious, fully equipped galley. The Sanlorenzo SHE is gentleman's yacht of the past design, adding privacy and functionality, with clear separation between guest and service areas.

Super Sport Yacht Fire Destroyed Offshore to Savona, Italy

Three men were saved as the 26 meter super sport yacht Principessa Matera had an onboard fire as it was cruising about five nautical miles offshore between Bergeggi and Capo Noli, Savona in Western Liguria Italy at around 14:15 of Thursday six November.  Two Vigili del Fuoco fire fighting boats departing from Savona and Genova and a Drago 162 Helicopter went out to fight the blaze, as the yacht crew saved itself with the yacht's tender.  The fire was controlled and stopped, although the yacht was wrecked and nearly fully burned but was saved from sinking and spreading pollution from its fuel tanks and engine oil.
The yacht wreck was ultimately towed at 00:40 to the Port of Vado by a Transmare tug boat, with an anti-pollution Transmare vessel and two Port Captaincy boats following the operation.  The cause of the fire is now under investigation, as the yacht wreck was seized by the Savona public attorney.
M/y Principessa Matera is an Arno Leopard 27 Open as designed by Paolo Caliari and produced from 1994 to 2011 in 48 units.  Founded in 1935 by Raffaello, Alessandro, Lorenzo and Nello Picchiotti, they enter yacht production outside the Picchiotti family name with the Arno Leopard 15mt as designed by Paolo Caliari in 1973.  Arno Leopard operated till 2013, building yachts up to 46 meters in length.

New Model: Valhalia 55 Sport Yacht

Valhalia Boatworks has in June 2025 launched the first hull of the new 55 Sport Yacht. Based on the V-55 center console which arrived in early 2023 the 55 Sport Yacht is redesigned from the super structure up, offering sweet looking modern lines coupled to performance and choices of accommodation layout for both upper and main decks.  Powered by four Mercury 600hp outboards the 55 Sport Yacht delivers a fast fifty knots plus top speed, coupled to a stable and efficient ride, along a stunning profile. Her swept-back, four-sided fiberglass pilothouse features tinted windows and a hardtop that extends aft to cover the summer kitchen or bar. A telescoping powered shade, hidden in the hardtop delivers sun protection and comfort in the cockpit. Support arches gracefully project outboard to the coamings.. Boarding platforms outboard of the engines lead to a pair of glass doors that provide cockpit access. Designed for maximum relaxation and outdoor entertaining, the yacht is offered with several different aft deck layouts. Hull No. 1 is appointed with a wraparound lounge and table in the cockpit, paired with an L-shaped summer kitchen along the aft pilothouse bulkhead ,which also includes a port-side door. A summer kitchen with a full-width counter that extends along a solid aft bulkhead is also available with the U-shaped cockpit dinette. The third option boasts an aft dinette with table and facing bench seats, coupled with a bar and three stools, in lieu of the L-shaped summer kitchen. With each of the four configurations, the aft bulkhead has an integrated powered window that opens the pilothouse to the aft deck. Adding to the entertainment is an optional HD TV that drops down from the hardtop underside for aft-deck viewing. The cockpit comes standard with powered fold-down balconies on each side with integrated boarding ladders. An asymmetrical side-deck design allows for increased interior volume; raised starboard side deck accessed via three steps frees up space in the cabin while still providing access forward to tend to dock lines, while the port side walkway is flush with the deck and leads to the bow, where you’ll find a three-person sun-pad and a wraparound lounge with table. The pilothouse is designed to bring the outdoors inside. In addition to the bulkhead window, it features a powered sunroof and port and starboard powered doors that slide aft. They provide full-beam access from the three-person forward control station while also ushering in refreshing breezes. Like our Viking and Valhalla helms, the 55 SY’s control station is streamlined, clean and ergonomically friendly. Three multifunctional displays anchor the raised electronics pod in an impressive all-glass helm design. Visibility through the one-piece windshield is superb. With the solid aft bulkhead option, the pilothouse’s interior is appointed with a full-width raised lounge and table. Alternatively, you have a raised bench seat offset to starboard when the L-shaped summer kitchen with bulkhead door is chosen; and the outdoor bar design boasts a continuation of its counter into the pilothouse. Port-side companionway stairs lead to the feature-packed galley to starboard and comfortable dinette to port (with L-shaped seating that’s convertible to a berth). Standard accommodations include two private staterooms with queen beds. The forward master is appointed with an ensuite head and separate shower. A guest head, also with separate shower, is just forward of the amidships guest stateroom. For extra sleeping accommodations, an optional amidships layout with two berths; double to starboard and a single to port is available. The 55 Sport Yacht has over four thousand litres of fuel for extensive range and is engineered for a Seakeeper for increased comfort.  A subsidiary of Viking Yachts, Valhalia Boatworks debuted in 2019 with three center console models from ten to twelve meters on that year, and today offers eight models from 28 to 55 foot.

2 Saved as Fjord Cruiser is Fire Wrecked Off Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale

Two people were saved as a fourteen meter sport cruiser went ablaze six nautical miles off Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale on the afternoon of Monday third November.  The boaters were rescued by a boater who spotting the smoking vessel called a mayday and turned his attention to assist, rescuing one of the boaters first, and the second later.  The fire was then attended by Hollywood Fire Rescue, Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, and US Coast Guard units.  The US Coast Guard collected the two boaters from the Samaritan boater, with the blaze fought by the three fire rescue agencies, with a towing boat also coming for nothing to tow the wreck as this ultimately sunk in around 250 meters of deep water.  The two boaters had no injuries and were then taken to the Coast Guard Station in Dania Beach.  The cause of the fire is under investigation, with social media chatter saying the particular boat was displayed at the just finished 2025 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show brokerage section.
The sport cruiser in this fire is 2015 Fjord 48 Open as designed by Patrick Banfield and produced from 2014 to 2017.  When debuting the 48 Open was Fjord flagship, with the model evolved and replaced by the 52 Open.
