New Model: Nord West 430 Sport

Thanks again to Nord West we are again proud to present the exclusive preview of the 430 Sport. This new model was presented together with the 430 SportsTop at the Gothenburg boat show, and as with the smaller 370 of the same designation we see Nord West again challenging itself to a more Mediterranean type design, which is also very much appreciated up North in colder climates. The 430 Sport is identical minus the hard top to the SportsTop version, same choices of three different layouts below which can sleep from four up to six in two or three cabins, and stern drive or IPS pod propulsion. An owner choosing the Nord West 430 has a total of eight choices including the important between an open environment which can be closed with a canopy, or a more enclosed hard top choice which makes it easier to use all year round even when the weather doest not look good. To be honest if I had this choice in my hands I would still be confused between the two new Nord West 430 as both look awesomely beautiful with the open version looking that extra bit sexy and sportier. Powering the 430 Sport which has the Benny Martinsson multi prized series four hull as used for the 420 Flybridge is Volvo Swedish engines with a standard twin 370hp stern drive propulsion, and going up to an optional 435hp and IPS pods.

Project: Austin Parker AP54 Fly

After returning back to the market in 2009, and showing more strength in 2010 with the presentation of three new models Austin Parker opens 2011 with the presentation of the AP54 Fly project. This traditional yacht if these two words actually can describe any Austin Parker is based on the latest new model of the 2010 season, the AP52 Open. As all Austin Parker's the AP54 Fly is designed by Fulvio De Simoni Italproject team who presents traditional down East lobster lines, but with a modern Italian take on the overall concept. I am sure that in no history photos of a down East lobster boat you will find any large glassed windows in the cabins, or a bathing platform for that manner. But for a yacht giving panache and class the lobster touch surely makes everything look elegant with the appreciated timeless attitude and this is basically the success that characterizes these type of yachts. Inside of the AP54 Fly we see the layout of the 52 Open offering three double cabins with two bathrooms, large lounge, separate galley, crew cabin with head, and tender garage aft. The owners room while located to fore gives a space similar to that of a mid ship layout as in fact the AP54 has its maximum beam in this area. Performance is a top speed of 34 knots max coming from twin 900hp MAN engines.

Project: Vicem 45 Vanguard

Vicem Yachts from Turkey opens 2011 with the presentation of a new worldwide debut of its third line of yachts: the Vanguard Line. This new line has important features to it and will start up with the above rendering shown 45 Vanguard project, which is set to launch this year. A 33 Vanguard will follow the 45. As has been shown by Vicem in the past, the 45 Vanguard features blend of timeless elegance, performing naval architecture and state of the art production technology. The Vanguard is indeed designed by Vicem own design department styling for the exterior and the interior, while the hull and naval architecture were developed by legendary naval architect Michael Peters who here presents a twenty degrees deep Vee dead rise hull. An aggressive yet clean lined design that combines wood elements that typify the classic Vicem style with new color palettes of grey, silver and blue. Accommodation for the 45 Vanguard is still very much comfortable both inside and outside. The interior offers two cabins; one forward and second to midships, head, separate shower room, and a comfortable galley. The comfortable med style exterior offers an large aft sun pad, L-shaped settee, L-shaped lounger, and helm station. An extraordinarily daring design but intimately tied to incomparably high quality hull construction, thanks to the use of infused epoxy resins. SP Systems and Hi Modulus; B3 Smart Pac were chosen by Vicem Yachts to develop a production package using six different kinds of cores for each hull. Standard power package of the 45 Vanguard is Volvo IPS 600 which give 34 knots of top speed. In alternative is a more powerful choice of twin MAN 800hp engines coupled with Arneson Surface Drive transmissions, which sets speeds at over 50 knots.

Project: Ferretti Custom Line 33 Navetta Crescendo

Ferretti Custom Line presents its latest project, the 33 Navetta Crescendo. Rising as is Crescendo in English is the new evolution of Ferretti Custom Line’s semi-displacement range, and evokes the universe of classical music, entering the sphere of Italian culture and style. Quality, artisan features, sophisticated harmony, elegance and balance are the basic values of Crescendo, which is a natural evolution of the previous 33 Navetta of the semi-displacement line. As is common in the Ferretti Custom Line range, 33 Navetta Crescendo is the result of the close working relationship between Studio Zuccon International Project, Advanced Yacht Technology the Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers of Centro Stile, who here present classical external lines which blend harmoniously with the contemporary interior design which can be personalised entirely according to the owner’s choices. On 33 Navetta Crescendo, as indeed on the entire Ferretti Custom Line range, all details which are not structural like, for example, furnishings, fabrics and décor, can be customized according to owners’ preferences. Aided by the Centro Stile architects and designers, they can develop their own, tailor-made yacht, choosing from a selection of proposals by top Italian and international companies. Natural light which filters through large windows illuminates the spacious interiors of the 33 Navetta Crescendo which also stands out in this segment for her three full decks, which are integrated into the line of the yacht. One new feature, compared with the previous model, is also a large sundeck. There is also a number of important design solutions; more direct contact with the sea, large salon on the main deck which features a dining area, reduction of visual physical barriers blocking the view of the sea to a minimum, owner suite in a privileged position at bow on the main deck, separation of the guest and crew flows through dedicated crew area from the galley, four spacious guest cabins on the lower deck all with large open view windows overlooking the sea with the opportunity to separate the beds which turns a double room into a twin, large highly versatile upper deck thanks to the system of circular sliding doors with a dining area in a position of complete privacy, and a new sundeck which features a small swimming-pool and sunbathing area.
