Three Boaters Saved as Sport Yacht Goes Ablaze Near Nettuno, Italy

Three boaters including a young five year old girl were saved from a seventeen meter sport yacht fire near Torre Asturia, Nettuno, Italy at around 19:00 of Saturday fourth July.  The yacht was assisted by the Port Captaincy of Anzio who assisted with the Guardia Costiera CP859 SAR boat and the B89 saving the boaters first.  Following the saving of the boaters, an operation to save the yacht was started which at this point was also taking in water and was in risk of sinking.  The saving of the yacht was a success with this then towed to the marina of Nettuno for inspection of eventual repairs.   

The yacht in this fire is an Atlantis 55 as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2004 to 2009.  The 55 was replaced by the Atlantis 54.
