Project: Esposito Positano Open 52

 

Nautica Esposito present the Positano Open 52 project.  The Open 52 will represent the largest build to date by Esposito, expanding its offer by over four meters, with its current largest boat being the Positano Open 38.  The Positano Open 52 is designed by Cabes responsible for naval architecture and Imma Alfano for interior.   The Positano Open 52 will be offered in two layout A and B configurations, and a lower deck which can sleep up to six persons.  The Positano Open 52 is to be powered by twin Yanmar 640hp with line shaft propulsion for speeds up to 32 knots.  It is been reported that two Positano Open 52 are currently under construction, with the first unit set to launch this Summer.

New Model: Jeanneau Cap Camarat 9.0 CC Serie2

Jeanneau present the Cap Camarat 9.0 CC Serie2, a replacement to the Cap Camarat 9.0 first generation which was produced from 2018 to 2025.  Designed by Sarazin with naval architecture by Michael Peters the new Cap Camarat 9.0 CC Serie2 adds more family boating accommodation, with an interior offering a two berths accommodation with separate shower head, but also a drop down bulkhead to port side, and more covered integrated T-Top.  The Jeannwau Cap Camarat 9.0 CC Serie2 is powered by twin 200hp or 250hp outboard from both Yamaha and Mercury.

Super Yacht Wrecked by Fire in Sentosa Cove, Singapore

The 34 meter Custom Line yacht Eagle Wings III was wrecked by fire at One15 Marina in Sentosa Cove, Singapore on 08:10 morning time of Sunday seven June.  Singapore Civil Defence Force responded to the blaze in seven minutes first from land and then by deploying a marine vessel as the yacht cut its mooring and started drifting.  The fire was eventually extinguished around five hours later at around 13:40, with the yacht sitting partially sunk in the water.  No injuries and damage to other yachts are reported from the blaze, as nearby yachts were quickly moved during the fire.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The yacht in this accident is a 2005 Custom Line 112 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2001 to 2007 in fifteen units.  When released the 112 was Custom Line's flagship model, with the model replaced by the 112 Next.

Bertram New Web Site

Legendary boat builder Bertram founded in 1961 presents its new web-site. The story of Bertram starts in 1960 when the 31 Moppie is launched and raced by Richard Bertram during the Miami Nassau of that year, winning the event in one of the worst sea conditions in the race history and setting a new record of under four minutes to the previous one.  It is a year later to this that Richard Bertram presents the fiberglass build 31 Moppie a production run of the racing prototype from 1960 which was build of wood.  A year after the launch of Bertram's debut production model, Richard sells the company to Nautec.  This will be the start of many ownership changes into the years as in 1968 Nautec sells to the Whittaker Corporation, in 1985 Investcorp buy 45% share interests and finalizes a full purchase in 1987, in 1989 New York investment company G.L Ohrstorm, 1992 sees Gruppo Varasi take over, Intek buys the company in 1997, and then Ferretti Group take over in 1998 till 2015.  Gavio the new owners purchase Bertram without its Miami facility in 2015, and then buy a new Tampa Florida location, and start a plan to launch completely new models debuting with the 35 as designed by Michael Peters, a model which reminisces the legendary 31.  Apart from the 1960 legendary start win Bertram has had many highlights in its years from winning races; 1962 Miami Nassau, 1964 Viareggio Bastia, 1965 Cowes Torquay and Miami Key West, all these with Richard on the helm who retires in 1966 but returns for a small stint in the 1969 Miami Nassau.  Other Bertram highlights are the numbers of its construction building its thousand hull in 1971.  Bertram has also had important flagships in its run from the 58 Convertible launched in 1977 with an aluminium super structure, the 72 Convertible in 1989, and the 800 in 2010.  Bertram has also presented some models which are the benchmarks from the 1960 31 which was the model of the brand and produced for sixteen years to 1860 units, to the 28 launched in 1971 built in 2200 units, to the 1981 launched 54 which sets a bench mark in 50 plus feet sportfish yachts.  Currently Bertram has six models staring with the 2021 launched 28 CC, to the 61 flagship launched in 2018.  Bertram latest model is the 34 CC which arrived in the fall of 2024. It started with the Ray Hunt designed Bertram 31 Sport Cruiser.

Sport Cruiser Saved from Sinking in Procida Island, Italy

A twelve meter in size sport cruiser with five persons onboard, three of which small children was saved from sinking near the Phlegraean Island of Procida, on the Tyrrhenian side of Italy at around 15:20 of Saturday sixth June.  The Port Captaincy and Guardia Costiera coast guard of Naples received the call for assistance, and deployed the search and rescue CP 807 vessel, with the GC 806 of the Procida section arriving first on the scene.  The GC 806 saved the boaters first, and on the arrival of CP 807 started an operation to save the vessel, which was a success, even in light of the strong westerly winds of the afternoon.  Following the return of safety to the boat, this was then towed at Marina Chiaiolella to the South of the island.  No injuries were reported from the accident with the cause of the water entry not being reported.

The boat in this accident is a Gagliotta Camaro Even 42 as produced in the noughties.  The Camaro Even 42 was a replacement to the Camaro 43, and was replaced by Gagliotta 44.

Not Attended Flybridge Cruiser Beaches Ashore at Haulover, Florida

A not attended badly hull damaged ten meter flybridge cruiser beached and washed ashore at Haulover Beach in Florida, on the morning of Saturday sixth June.  Wavy Boats reported the accident on his YouTube and Instagram channels, as Dal Harbour Police Department came to the scene to asses the situation.  Following this the Police tried to find the ownership with no success, and then instructed Flagship Towing to remove the boat. With the condition of the boat not idle, it was then decided to ground the boat even farther for its safety and to sustain less damage to itself and to the environment.  Ultimately the boat was destroyed and removed on Monday eight June.

The boat in this accident is a Silverton 34 Convertible fourth generation as produced from 1991 to 1995.  The 34 Convertible fourth generation was a replacement to the 34 Convertible third generation, and was replaced by the Silverton 362 Sedan Cruiser.

Project: Heesen 72m Project Ananda

Heesen present Project Ananda, a 72 meters project.  To be build on a smart custom platform Project Ananda also represents the largest steel build to date by Heesen and is developed in collaboration with Sinot Yachts, with this build also showing a new strategic direction from the Dutch super yacht builder. At 72 metres, Project Ananda marks a significant step forward in Heesen’s engineering capabilities, pushing the boundaries of speculation-built yachts while reinforcing the shipyard’s focus on owner and guest wellbeing, exceptional build quality, and unparalleled seakeeping. The project reflects a highly client-focused approach to yacht building, with flexibility and personalisation embedded throughout the design. The name Ananda meaning “inner joy”, encapsulates the philosophy behind the yacht’s onboard experience. A highly collaborative process between Sinot and Heesen’s in-house engineering  ensures the exterior design could be realised without compromise. This integrated approach aligns design intent with technical feasibility, maintaining consistency from concept through to construction. The result is a yacht that retains Heesen’s characteristic sleek profile, interpreted through a softer, more organic design language. Built on an ultra-efficient steel hull, Project Ananda combines proven Dutch shipbuilding expertise with advanced performance. Tank testing at the University of Southampton’s Wolfson Unit successfully validated resistance, trim, heave, and wave response. The hybrid propulsion system incorporates twin MTU engines and PTI/PTO gearboxes, delivering a range of 5,000 nautical miles at twelve knots and a maximum speed up to sixteen knots. Guest arrival has been carefully considered as part of the overall onboard experience. A midships shell door opens onto a docking platform leading directly to a central glass elevator. This arrangement transforms a functional operational feature into a ceremonial arrival experience, allowing guests to bypass social areas and access their quarters with complete privacy. Spread across five decks, the general arrangement prioritises fluid movement and layered privacy. The layout remains highly adaptable, with two configurable Owner’s Deck arrangements allowing the owner to choose between a forward-facing private deck or an aft-focused deck experience. Both Owner’s Deck concepts serve as blank canvases, enabling clients to incorporate highly specific lifestyle requirements. Conceived as an apartment-like environment, the master suite on the foredeck features a private office and extensive panoramic sightlines. A second master suite on the Bridge Deck mirrors the scale and comfort of the primary stateroom, removing traditional hierarchies while offering flexibility for charter operations or multi-generational family use. All interior spaces will be crafted in-house at Heesen Interiors in Winterswijk. Operating its own luxury interior company provides Heesen with a strategic advantage, ensuring complete control over execution while guaranteeing impeccable Northern European quality. Among Ananda’s standout features is the travertine-clad swimming pool area connected directly to a Teppanyaki-style bar within the main lounge. Rather than using traditional teak decking, Heesen selected travertine flooring that extends seamlessly from the outdoor pool area into the fully openable indoor lounge, creating a refined indoor-outdoor living experience. The deck space is entirely flush and free from visible mooring equipment, creating a serene environment that can easily transform into an entertainment and party deck. Dozen Boats Fire Wrecked at Marina in Winthrop, Massachusetts

At least a dozen boats were wrecked in a fire which started on the early hours of 02:30 of Friday fifth June at the Cottage Park Yacht Club on Orlando Avenue at Boston Harbor in Winthrop, Massachusetts.  Winthrop Fire responded to the fire, and were later assisted by Massachusetts State Police, and the marine units of Boston, Everett and Massport.  Two boats broke free in the fire, making the operation more delicate and complicated.  US Coast Guard and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection was notified, and now its for the clean up operation.  No injuries were reported from the fire, with the cause of the blaze being unknown.

Cottage Park Yacht Club was founded in 1902, and embraces club membership along its leisure boating facilities.  Cottage Park Yacht Club holds two world championships titles: 1963 Star World Championship, won by Joe Duplin and Francis Dolan, and the 2007 Snipe World Championship, won by Tomas Hornos and Enrique Quintero.  Cottage Park Yacht Club also hosted the Snipe North American Championship in 1999, 2008 and 2014, and the Western Hemisphere and Orient Championship in 2021.

Traditional Gozzo Cruiser Wrecked by Fire in Empuriabrava

A not attended traditional style Gozzo cruiser of thirteen meters in length went ablaze at Empuriabrava in the North East of Spain, on the evening of Thursday fourth June.  Salvamento Maritimo responded to the blaze with the Lyra lifeguard vessel, and first removed all shore power connection and extinguished the blaze, saving the boat from sinking.  The cause of the blaze is not reported with no injuries being reported from the fire.

The boat in this fire is an Apreamare 45 Comfort as designed by Spadolini and produced from 2004 to 2010.  The 45 Comfort was a hard-top version of the 12 Cabinato, and was replaced by the Apreamare 44.

New Model: Numarine 27XP

Numarine, the Turkish yacht builder renowned for its long-range explorer yachts, has delivered the first unit of its all-new 27XP model. Following the project unveiling at last year's Cannes Yachting Festival, the 27XP has already generated strong interest, with five hulls sold and three currently under construction. The second and third units are scheduled for delivery in the coming months. The owner of the first hull is a repeat Numarine client upgrading from a 22XP, a reflection of the loyalty the XP range has built among experienced owners seeking greater volume and cruising capability without the complexity of a significantly larger yacht. Delivered in Istanbul, the yacht is expected to spend much of her time cruising the Greek islands and wider Aegean region. The 27XP is the natural evolution of the highly successful 26XP platform, of which thirty hulls are currently cruising worldwide, developed through years of feedback from owners and captains. The result is a larger, more capable explorer yacht with increased interior volume, expanded outdoor living and enhanced onboard functionality while preserving the core characteristics that made the XP Series so successful. The first hull has been delivered in the four cabins layout, prioritising a full beam flybridge and expanded exterior living spaces. A five cabin version is also available for owners with different cruising requirements.  Designed inside and out by Can Yalman, with naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini, the 27XP retains the sharp, purposeful profile of Numarine's explorer range while introducing a more open onboard experience. Oversized windows maximise natural light throughout, a sliding glass door  off the main salon dissolves the boundary between interior and cockpit, and the flybridge is among the largest in its class.  The 27XP introduces Numarine's new Mk2 Super Silent Pack, developed in partnership with Sleipner. Built around a 48 volt energy architecture and integrated Hybrid Power Center, the system combines a 92.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery bank with 5.6 kW of solar generation, shore power input and intelligent load management. Operating at higher voltage improves efficiency across all onboard systems, reduces energy losses and enables quieter, more stable electrical performance throughout the yacht.  Powered by twin MAN 560 engines, the 27XP offers a top speed up to thirteen knots, a cruising speed of ten and a transoceanic range of 2,200 nautical miles at eight knots .  The 27XP will make her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026
