Project: Riviera 6200 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition

Riviera presents the 6200 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition project a replacement to the 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition produced since 2019.  The 6200 Sport Yacht is not a soft evolution with extra one meter of length of the 6000SY but a completely new yacht, recognizable from the straight shear line, large uninterrupted hull glazing, fore-deck with L-shaped mini dinette and dual sun-pad, and choice of short or long hard-top.  Typical of Riviera Sport Yacht's since their debut the interior of the 6200 Sport Yacht has a full living on the main deck, with an astern galley located to starboard, dinette and L-shaped lounger to port side, and helm station with lounger to port.  The lower deck now comes with four cabins three heads as standard, with an utility crew room located to port side at midships in between the engine room and owners stateroom.  An optional three cabins and lower lounge version is also available.  The 6200 Sport Yacht is powered by standard twin Volvo 900hp with IPS pod drives.

New Model: Jeanneau Sea Loft 480

Jeanneau presents the new Sea Loft 480 as designed by Marc Lombard.  The Sea Loft 480 sees Jeanneau embrace green boating, following similar concepts to Greenline, and or the more recent JPK from France and the Greek Omikron.  That it is not to say Jeanneau copied these builders, to be fair the French builder came with it's own twist of green boating and design solutions, from its hybrid mono to catamaran hull shape.  It's accommodation also has a new twist from the living area which as the name says brings a loft outside-inside desgn that full extends from midships to the stern, with the sun-lovers area of the boat relegated to the bow.  The covered area of the main deck offers a two lounge style settees on entry, with a full dining table for eight to port side, and a galley to starboard, with the sun part fore deck has a sun-pad and a settee at bow peak. The lower deck of the Sea Loft 480 is fully dedicated to the four cabins each served with a private head, with a second option offering a larger forward cabin in replacement to the two forward cabins.  The Sea Loft 480 is powered by twin Yanmar 45hp engines with line shaft with an optional add on of twin Fisher Panda 10 kw electric motors usable as full electric, and or hybrid mode.

Project: Apreamare Gozzo 42

Apreamare presents the Gozzo 42 project, moving forward the stylistic and design evolution of the Gozzo line.  The Gozzo 42 is not just an expansion of the range, but brings a natural evolution of Apreamare design language as desired by Cataldo Aprea who again asked Marco Casali of Too Design the designer of the all the current Gozzo range, and Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design who design and engineer this new model. The result is that the Gozzo 42 is a perfectly balanced take on the Apreamare identity: respect for tradition, build quality and functional innovation devised for the contemporary owner.  Stylistically speaking, the Gozzo 42 introduces a new sportier and more modern look; the hull, deckhouse and windows have been completely redesigned to create a more dynamic silhouette, without affecting the family feeling that has made the Gozzo range immediately recognisable in the yachting scene.  The distinctive features of theGozzo 42 include the sleek hardtop, now designed to be fitted with the optional glass windscreen in a solution that increases cruising comfort in all conditions. The helm station also has a more sculpted design, with a more ergonomic layout and optional air conditioning for maximum driving comfort.  Special attention was also given during the design process to technical and functional aspects: new air inlets integrated into the hull improve cooling in the engine room, which has a large electrically operated door to facilitate access for maintenance. A technical compartment in the stern houses the mooring gear.  In true Apreamare tradition, the new Gozzo 42 stands out for its exceptional onboard liveability, among the best in its category. The cockpit features a large two meters long sun-pad in the stern, positioned next to a generous C-shaped sofa that can comfortably seat up to eight people. A second area for socialising, in the bow, features a sun-pad and facing sofas, designed for a totally relaxing and private sea experience. Both the cockpit and the sun-pad in the bow can be effectively shaded by awnings attached to the T-Top structure and supported by carbon fibre poles, improving onboard comfort during the hottest time of day.  The wet bar is fully customised to suit the owner’s preferences and can be fitted with two 85-litre refrigerators, an ice maker and a barbecue, grill or induction hobs, as well as a spacious compartment for tableware. Completing the outdoor experience is the almost six-square-metre stern platform featuring a retractable swim ladder and a tender lift system.  The interiors are designed to offer comfort and bright spaces, with a master cabin part of an open-plan layout that can be separated completely from the living area by a door ensuring complete privacy for the owner. An optional second separate cabin can specified at midships, with two single beds and storage units along the wall. The entire sleeping area is flooded with light that pours in through the new hull and deck windows.  In terms of performance at sea, the Gozzo 42 lives up to the high standards set by all Apreamare boats, with a the variable-geometry hull with skegs designed for either a conventional in-line shaft drive or a Volvo Penta IPS system.  The Apreamare Gozzo 42 is powered by Volvo 380 or 480hp with line line shaft or IPS pod drives.  Top speeds are 27 knots for Volvo 380hp and line shaft propulsion, and go up to 36 knots with twin Volvo 480hp with IPS pod propulsion.

New Model: Everglades 367CX

Everglades is the next brand to enter the larger dual console sizes as they debut the 367CX which is to be followed by a seven foot larger sister. You can see that large dual consoles are on the rise, as Everglades expands the size after it debuted in the genre in 2012 with the 230 Dual Console, which was followed by the 340 Dual Console arriving in 2019, and this 367CX replaces.  The 367CX debuts what Everglades calls the seven series Crossovers range, and apart a three part hard-top and deck space from fore to aft, brings also a nice cabin with accommodation for two, a galley and separate head.  The trick in the Everglades 367CX is the rotating aft settee in the center of the cockpit, which can change the settee and wet bar position; settee can become from forward looking to a mezzanine, while the summer galley can turn from a social gather on the aft into the protective area under the hard-top.   The Everglades 367CX is powered by twin Yamaha 350hp as standard, and or optional engines up to Yamaha 450hp, with Mercury's 400 and 425hp offered in between.  To be fair I think the standard engines give a very good performances, and also the best litres to nautical miles which goes up to 328 nautical miles at 28 knots.

New Model: Overmarine Mangusta GranSport 34

The first unit of the Mangusta GranSport 34 hit the water at Overmarine's shipyard in Viareggio on April eighth, a launch that marked the beginning of a new chapter in the Mangusta GranSport line. An evolution of the multi-award winner Mangusta GranSport 33 which sold in twelve units in a five year production run, the GranSport 34 builds on the legacy of its predecessor, adding more cutting-edge technological solutions and using a more contemporary aesthetic language.  Designed by Alberto Mancini in close cooperation with Overmarine Group's Engineering Department, the Mangusta GranSport 34 blends together rakish and sporty lines, impressive performances, and an even more versatile layout. On this yacht, performance goes hand in hand with great comfort, and onboard liveability is maximised, reaching a level of flexibility normally found on much larger vessels. The limited draught makes navigation in shallow waters extremely pleasant, further extending cruising horizons: the Mangusta GranSport 34 does not simply embody a cruising style, but the freedom to enjoy the sea at one’s own pace.  Interiors and exteriors are even more seamlessly connected and ensure fluid transitions between cruising, relaxation, and conviviality also thanks to the restyled profile featuring larger glazed surfaces on both the main and the lower deck. Generous volumes and a constant visual contact with the sea create a smooth, immersive onboard experience, now surely a key priority for owners.  Among ththe GranSport 34 most distinctive features are the approximately forty squared meters master stateroom located on the main deck, and the four; two VIP / two double guest cabins.  Three crew cabins complete the lower deck, in a harmonious balance of liveability, privacy, and operating efficiency. The Mangusta GranSport 34 mounts four Volvo 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives which ensure excellent manoeuvrability, limited consumption, low vibrations, and outstanding noiselessness.  A maximum speed of 24 knots and a three hundred nautical miles range at twenty knots make the GranSport 34 ideal for long-range cruising. Compared to its 33-metre predecessor, the project has also evolved in technical terms: the aft cockpit and the garage have been enlarged to install SCR filters, which are now mandatory to cruise in ECA areas, for instance along US coastlines. Showing Mangusta North American success of recent years, this first GranSport 34 has been built for an American owner, with delivery expected by the end of May 2026.

Made in USA Boom

With how things stand today and in recent years, one would think made in USA boats and yachts are in big decline.  Sport cruisers manufacturers from the around a dozen offer of the noughties today amount to a couple of builders, sportfish the same script as sport cruisers, and super yachts made in USA have been in decline for many years.  Made in USA many would think has declined since the Big Recession which arrived in the fall of 2008.

One could not be more mistaken though if you think that made in USA boat making is down.  You just need to look in other areas, and the result is actually the opposite.  Boat making in the USA is stronger then it ever was!

It is strong though in the center console, day-boat-cruiser seven to fifteen meter genre, with outboard power.  The amount of boat making in these sizes is overwhelming, and it is probably the healthier that USA boat building ever was.  If you want to buy a thirty foot center console, your list might feature to the least of twenty names.  Most of which, and this is the most interesting part, are independent small to medium sized builders.

The other important note it is how competitive the US center-console and or similar boating segment like dual console and also cabin boats.  Also conce you go above thirty foot, the offers starts to get interesting and even more varied, and everyone tries to bring something different to the other.  This gets more so the bigger size you go.  For example some offer a stepped hull, others will give a transom door and one side door, while others will give two side doors and no transom door in order to give more fishing space.  The same thing amount for the cabin inside, and the accommodation on the deck.

One would think, how the center console boat looks that they are a simple boat, that they are all or mostly the same, but once you get into details it is impressive how all try to give something different.  Full marks for all the USA builders, for making it one of the most interesting markets ever.
