A thirty meter Sanlorenzo super yacht titled John went ablaze and ended wrecked at Marina di Brindisi, in Brindisi, South East Adriatic side of Italy, with the fire starting just after 09:00 morning time of Saturday third October. Brindisi Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters helped by the Port Captaincy of Brindisi tended to the fire. At first the fire fighters thought to have controlled the blaze, only for it to start again, at this point the yacht was towed away from it's berth by two tug-boats. Ultimately the yacht was wrecked by the fire and ended as a half-sunk wreck, with what's of the yacht listing to its starboard side on the break-water of the marina. No one was injured in the fire, with the cause of blaze being under investigation.
The yacht in this blaze is a 1998 built Sanlorenzo 100 as designed by Della Rolle and produced from 1995 to 2008 in twenty units. When released in 1995 the 100 was Sanlorenzo's biggest yacht, and was replaced by the SL104.
