New Model: Azimut Magellano 27M

Azimut presents the Magellano 27M, a new model which also starts the third chapter for the Magellano series where Nordic design meets Italian architecture.  An evolutionary story sparked in 2009 by the foresight of Paolo and Giovanna Vitelli with the arrival of the innovative Magellano 74, this new Magellano 27M unfolds the third generation of the Magellano Series with exteriors by Jarkko Jämsén and interiors by AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi, debuting in yachting with an unprecedented architectural loggia overlooking the sea.  The third Magellano designer, Nordic-Finnish Jarkko Jamsen, famous for his innovative Axopar's which changed the twenty-tens sporty cruiser inventing a new category which is today taken by storm, follows the acts of British Ken Freivokh who designed most of the models, and the Dutch Cor D. Rover. For the Magellano 27M Jamsen brought radical ideas and looks: a living site-specific artwork, conceived not to dominate nature but to exist through it, revealed in dialogue with the elements. By stripping away the unnecessary and revealing the bare shape, the Magellano 27M transforms into a mirror where sea, sky, and light endlessly compose surfaces into a dual nature. On one side, precise engineering: the straight line of the corner, the industrial feel of the fillets, the calibrated dimensions that speak of technical mastery and high precision. On the other, fluidity and reflection: the surfaces surrounding the loop are deliberately pure and cleaned of excess, allowing curvatures to capture light and multiply the play of sea and sky. For the interiors AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi who at the heart of the design make the Main Deck conceived as a vast loggia over the sea: a space deeply glazed, immersed in light, and articulated by wooden architectural elements that evoke Mediterranean pergolas and patios. The result is an environment suspended between inside and out, a place where the landscape becomes part of daily life, and where design does not divide but filters, accompanies, and protects in continuity with nature. Light oak gently meets walnut details, where a refined three-dimensional motif honours the transition between the two woods, this bonded with ancient Japanese craftsmanship weaving a quiet fusion into the space. Tactile 3D wood surfaces lie alongside side tables hand-chiseled with the traditional Naguri technique. Above the headboard, the wall does not display artwork: it becomes the art itself, wrapped in precious HOSOO fabric, hand-woven on 300-year-old Kyoto looms. Its delicate pattern represents a microscopic enlargement of a cross-section of a tree trunk, quietly returning to the essence of wood. The Magellano 27M brings also the evolution of the Dual-Mode hull, now under the guidance of Pierluigi Ausonio, which powered by twin MAN 1650hp engines brings top speeds up to 24 knots, a cruise of fast cruise eighteen, and a thousand nautical miles range at ten knots.
