Project: ISA Yachts Gran Turismo 33

ISA Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, announces the project for a new Granturismo 33 metres with sinuous lines and a sophisticated soul. The exterior and interior design is by Architect Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, while the naval engineering is by ISA Yachts. Inspired by its older sisters, ISA GT 33 is a competitive project aiming to encapsulate the incisive shapes, the innovations and the original details of the Granturismo line. The exterior design portrays a great coupé effect through the pronounced bow, the superstructure located toward the stern and the arches connecting all the decks: the traits that have made the ISA brand so distinctive all over the world. On both the main and the upper deck, continuity between the indoor and outdoor layout is achieved through the use of the same materials and the purposeful design of the lighting system. The placing of these areas on a single-level floor further facilitates the merging to create a dynamic and versatile environment. To this purpose, the cockpit sofas on the main deck have been designed so as not to obstruct the view from indoor. Typical of all ISA GT projects, the upper deck features a circular dining room which, thanks to the 180-degree sliding window, opens the view on the cockpit, again to the purpose of creating a single indoor-outdoor space. Compact yet functional, ISA GT 33 has a hydro-massage swimming pool in the bow. ISA GT 33 can accommodate up to ten people, with the owner cabin located on the main deck forward, while two VIP and two double cabins with twin beds are below deck. The service is guaranteed by five crew members. With aluminium hull and superstructure, ISA Gran Tutismo 33 is equipped with twin MTU 1620hp engines powering it to a top speed of 21 knots and guaranteeing a cruise speed of 19 knots.

Salvatore Pollio 1934 - 2023

Salvatore Pollio, the entrepreneur from Sorrento and co-founder of Apreamare, passed away on Monday April 24, 2023, aged 89.  Beloved by all who knew him, Salvatore Pollio was for many years the heart and soul of the production and work organisation side of Apreamare, the boatyard he founded with Cataldo Aprea in 1988 and a benchmark brand today for classic Sorrento gozzo boats revisited from a modern perspective. A pragmatic and reserved man with a wealth of boatbuilding experience, Salvatore Pollio was a key figure in the company and a second father to all the craftsmen he personally supervised for many years. At work, he was straight-talking and gifted in his ability to pass on his expertise with grace, kindness and irony. When he retired from active duty in the company, he handed over the baton to his daughter Rita, today CEO, and son Tonino, yard director, but never stopped taking an interest in Apreamare and was always excited by the excellent results the company has achieved in recent years. Business partners, but above all friends, Cataldo Aprea and Salvatore Pollio had complementary personalities – the former volcanic and the latter more reserved – and treated each other with great respect and fondness, but most importantly they designed together the first ever planning Gozzo with a fibreglass hull, Smeraldo 7, the first revolutionary example of this hugely successful type of boat for which Apreamare is today known worldwide. “I like to remember Salvatore as the other half of Apreamare’s heart and soul, a reserved person who preferred to keep a low profile but who was always present and passionate about the business. Without him, our brand wouldn’t be what it is today,” said Cataldo Aprea, Apreamare chairman.

Project: Boston Boatworks 52 Offshore Express Cruiser

Twenty-seven years after Boston Boatworks launched its first high-performance, technology-forward racing sailboat, the company announces the development of the 52 Offshore Express Cruiser. As exciting as this project is for the entire team, the genesis of the yacht stays true to the company’s original objectives of integrating composite engineering, high-strength construction, and artisanal workmanship, scaled to limited-production efficiencies.  For the BB52, the builder partnered with venerable yacht designer Doug Zurn and renowned interior design firm Winch Design. While the industry has long known Boston Boatworks for their construction expertise, building over 350 advanced composite performance yachts, including MJMs and grand-prix racing sailboats, as well as expedition tenders and Coast Guard Certified passenger vessels this will be the company’s first model that fully represents their vision and passion for providing owner-operator high-quality offshore yacht under its own name. The seventeen meter express cruiser takes advantage of Boston Boatworks efficiencies as a limited-run manufacturer of series yachts, softening the lines between a production boat and a semi-custom project with prospective owners able to choose from several selections of interior configurations and finishes developed by Winch Design that cater to a wide range of functions, all of which incorporate a multitude of elegant and clever features to enhance the time on board.  The 52 Offshore Express Cruiser also continues the long-standing collaboration between Boston Boatworks and Doug Zurn.  The BB52 is for owners who appreciate a relentless pursuit of quality and those who understand why the entire build needs to be strong to be safe; who recognize that lighter-weight interiors yield spatial and fuel efficiencies; who demand that the boat’s handling be intuitive; and who take pride in the athletic look of their yacht and the gracefulness of its interior. The Boston Boatworks 52 Offshore Express Cruiser will offer an interior with a one or two cabins two head layout choice, with another option coming to have a galley up or down on the lower deck.  The Boston Boatworks 52 Offshore Express Cruiser is to be powered by triple Volvo 440hp and surprisingly for its size will use stern drive propulsion which will give an estimated top speed up to forty knots.

The concept and the exterior lines were created by design and architecture studio Vallicelli Design, while architects Nuvolari Lenard took care of the interiors and their subdivision together with the yard. The result is a fully bespoke 72-metre steel and aluminium yacht spanning 6 decks and accommodating up to twelve guests and nineteen crew. The CRN M/Y 139 is a super yacht with a striking sense of style. New Model: Cantiere Delle Marche RJ 115

Cantiere delle Marche has launched the first RJ 115 model, titled m/y Stellamar this is the second RJ series following the 130 launched in 2021.  The RJ series stems from a fruitful collaboration between the yard’s team and the talented Francesco Paszkowski who has developed a successful series of contemporary modern explorer yachts with an RJ 130 delivered and two more RJ 115 and RJ 155 in the pipeline, this commissioned by the owner of ,/y Stellamar.  Needless to add that this represents an attestation of trust for Cantiere delle Marche and provides a further reference within the yachting community. All models in the RJ line share a strong personality characterized by extremely well-balanced volumes and proportions throughout the design, as well as those characterizing features as, for example the invisible crane.  The RJ 115 project pays respect to the most exquisite yacht design tradition while implementing it with highly sophisticated design solutions. An extensive use of glass in the bulwarks and the open stern enhance the visual continuity with the surrounding environment. RJ 115 profile is tense yet it encompasses sensuous lines that add an unrivalled elegance to her exterior design. With this project, Francesco Paszkowski shows that medium size dimensions are not the enemy of creativity as they make it more effective. Paszkowski succeeded in providing the 35m super yacht with large spaces and luxury amenities while staying true to her explorer yacht’s soul, a peculiarity which sets Cantiere delle Marche from the other players in the super yacht industry.  The RJ 115 is an elegant yet robust, reliable, environment friendly, long range explorer super yacht with unrivalled technical equipment that allow her Owner, family and friends to enjoy safe journeys to the most remote and secluded areas of the globe. For all technical aspects, CdM has drawn not only on the expertise of its in-house design and engineering department but also that of long-standing partner Hydro Tec entrusted for the naval architecture.  The interior layout of this first RJ 115 was tailored to the Owner family’s specific needs and provides ensuite accommodation for eight guests in four lower deck cabins, and a master stateroom on the main deck forward. A crew of seven has their quarters on the Lower deck in three cabins while the Captain’s is next to the wheelhouse on the Upper deck.  A cleverly designed layout offers easy circulation and a functional connection between the decks with all exterior stairs located on the port side and large side walkways. Great emphasis has been given to outdoor areas with large lounging/dining areas on all decks. Yet, should you have enough of sun and wind, when you enter the Main or Upper salon you don’t lose contact with the outdoors as vast windows light the rooms while visually connecting them to the sea beyond.  On the Lower deck you realize that natural light and views are not reserved solely to the upper decks as all four guest cabins on the Lower deck, two Vip and two twin cabins, are indeed bright and airy thanks to large windows.  The yacht’s interior design and decoration are easy on the eye and shapes remain just as soft as the neutral colour palette. Textures of both wood and fabrics also play a central role by echoing materials found in nature. The interior decoration of Stellamar, in its entirety, work in harmony creating warm and welcoming environments. An extensive use of bright natural oak for flooring and ceilings and cream leather wall panelling gives the interior a soothing atmosphere throughout the yacht, in both social and private areas. Paszkowski designed all fixed furniture and chose, together with the Owners, most of the loose furniture and accessories by renowned manufacturers such as the Arpège Meridienne sofas by Christian Liaigre for the lounging area in the Main Salon, the Poliform Saint Germain sofa in the Skylounge, armchairs Archibald by Poltrona Frau, Cassina Hola chairs in the dining area whose table boasts a beautiful Breccia Aurora marble top. All bathrooms share the same bright and relaxing mood thanks to matt white statuary marble coupled to natural oak. The shower stall in the Owner’s bath is equipped with infra-red sauna and hammam.  The RJ 115 is a full-displacement explorer vessel with steel hull and aluminium superstructure. and powered by twin heavy-duty Caterpillar 724hp each  allows for range of around 5500nm at an economic speed of nine knots.
