F&S New Web Site

Delaware's custom Sportfish Yacht builder F&S presents a new virtual Internet showroom. Jim Floyd founded F&S around the late eighties, building hull number one a 58 foot Sportfish Yacht which today is called Triple-Net. But the founding pillars of F&S start in reality earlier to this, when Jim entered the woodwork trade in his early twenties, and later on founded his own construction company practicing as master carpenter and cabinet maker. United with an outdoor passion, Jim hunts and fishes most of the East Coast on his 23 foot Seacraft, which leads him to Carolina in the late seventies where the first custom builders shops start refining and pioneering the works for custom cold molded construction sportfish boats. At first Jim Floyd works and collaborates with Ricky Scarborough of North Carolina.  This collaboration and the studying of the Carolina builders, with the addition of experimenting with resins and hull shapes leads Jim to launch his first boat, hull number one a 58 feet launched in 1996 and built in the unlikely location of Middletown chicken house. The first F&S featured what have become trademark touches of the models coming from Delaware; having Carolina lines with bow flair and shear line included, and a variable deadrise hull. F&S are built in cold moulded glass fibre with resin over wood in jig method, and feature a unique variable deadrise, longitudinal stepped Vee hull. This gives benefits as stability at roll, track ability in following waters, and soft head sea entry. F&S has so far delivered delivered just under thirty boats from 1996 till today, although there was a twelve year break period till the second built went in the water. The smallest of the constructions has been a 36 feet Express with outboards hull 21 delivered in 2012, and the largest to date is the 2019 delivered hull 27 at 78 feet. Today F&S is managed by Jim Floyd, wife Maria, children Tim and Christina all in the business, with Joe Bonvetti and a select group of craftsman building each Sportfish Yacht to owner specifications. Currently F&S has three constructions in progress all in a new large 82 feet hull size. F&S new website takes you around with the following buttons: About FandS, Why FandS, Fleet, Careers, and Gear.  F&S is also on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with links at the bottom of the page.

Project: Horizon PC68

Following a record-breaking year of sales, with the milestone fiftieth hull sold, Horizon Power Catamarans proudly announces the newest addition to its popular series of power catamarans. Positioned at the head of the multi-hulled PowerCat range that begins with the entry-level PC52 and includes a PC60 and a custom PC74 flagship, the new, ultra-spacious Horizon PC68 model has been meticulously planned to meet and exceed the cruising needs of discerning boaters. The Horizon PC68 is offered in two layouts both in four cabins. An interesting choice is to have an owners stateroom on the forward part of the main deck, and three cabins below deck, while another option is to have the owners suite in the starboard hull, and having the forward part of the main deck replaced by a dinette. The Horizon PC68 is to be powered by twin Man 850hp engines. No performance estimates are yet given. The first Horizon PC68 will feature an open-plan salon, which as I understand means owners stateroom in the lower deck, and will make its global debut at the 2023 Horizon Yachts Open House in Taiwan, followed by a U.S. debut at the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show.
