Horizon has launched a new FD80 motor yacht. Specified with numerous innovative features for a down under Australian customer, this is the first FD80 model to feature a galley-aft layout, a convertible VIP and a helipad on the hardtop. This increases the living area afforded by the high-volume, four-stateroom FD80 exponentially. This latest FD80 will be named m/y Sweet Caroline in honour of the owner’s partner, and she is a fitting example of a perfectly curated yacht for a growing market.

New Model: Horizon FD110 Tri-deck

Horizon Yachts is pleased to announce that the first tri-deck FD110 has launched and has made her U.S. debut. The new FD110 is the largest build to date from the Cor D. Rover-designed Fast Displacement FD Series that has become renowned for its pioneering high-volume interior and unrivaled stability and performance. The Series characteristic full-height windows running from bow to stern punctuate the exterior styling of the tri-deck yacht, whose striking presence is further amplified by its elongated exterior deck areas. Guests of the yacht are welcomed via Besenzoni passerelle to the aft deck that spans the yacht’s beam and conveys a presence indicative of a much larger build. A spacious seating area here with both fixed and loose furniture is served by a full bar with two bar stools to starboard. A Hi/Lo extendable table allows for the space to convert into a dining area protected with a sun shade aft. Entertainment and relaxation are the emphasis of the FD110’s design, and through the fully opening salon doors, the main salon provides a voluminous oasis where a large L-shaped seating area invite conversation and enjoyment of the views through the large windows. A conveniently situated day head services both the interior and exterior on this deck, and a convertible dining table serves a multifunctional role as both a breakfast bar and a formal interior dining table. Sliding glass doors provide an al fresco feel to the dining area, and sculptural overhead lighting by Italian firm Slamp punctuates the rich, sophisticated interior décor highlighted by washed wenge wood with dark oak and walnut accents. Forward, a fully-equipped professional galley gleaming with beautiful Cambria stone can be open or completely closed off from the guest areas for privacy. Drawing its inspiration for the luxurious interior from trending residential design, the style throughout emphasizes natural finishes, subtle coloring and clean, modern elements. Stained walnut mimics the coziness of aged wood, while muted lacquer in French grey lightens up the tone overall. Polished chrome accents and splashes of lively colors round out a design that is both warm and elegant. One of the signature design features of the FD Series is the on-deck master stateroom, and that aboard the new FD110 does not disappoint. Expansive views from the large windows to port and starboard surround the king-sized bed, and a spacious his-and-hers ensuite with a grand shower is positioned forward. On the lower deck, four further ensuite staterooms comprise two mirrored VIPs amidships, a convertible twin to port and a third VIP in the bow. A spacious dedicated laundry room conveniently serves this area. Aft, the air-conditioned engine room houses the yacht’s machinery and twin Cat 1900hp engines. Crew quarters for up to six are situated furthest aft and include a double Captain’s cabin and crew mess. A large storage locker features a hydraulic door that accesses the yacht’s full-beam Hi/Lo swim platform. An internal stairway conveniently links the crew area with the aft deck above. Thoughtfully designed for entertainment and relaxation, the FD110 offers enviable areas for both on the bridge and upper decks. The enclosed skylounge offers plentiful seating as well as a wet bar with a wine cooler and a day-head aft. Equipped with custom Garmin navigation equipment and twin helm chairs, the forward wheelhouse features a Hi/Lo window and door, allowing the space to be open to or closed off from the skylounge as desired. Twin wing stations assist in docking and the yacht’s walkaround side decks lead to the forward entertainment area and boat deck aft.

At 122 feet in length, this yacht will be the largest of the J.C. Espinosa-designed RP Series. The exact layout of the five-stateroom yacht is still being determined, but Horizon is already working on incorporating several of the owner’s requests to accommodate frequent reef fishing, including a custom-designed pilothouse and Captain’s quarters, as well as a beach club designed to house fishing and diving gear and fitted with an ice chipper for freshly caught fish. Improve-it = Horizon FD75

Horizon have launched hull number four of its FD75 model. An amalgam of firsts, the latest Horizon FD75 is the first of the entry-level Fast Displacement line model to be built for Australian owners and as such the first to be delivered to the continent. This is the first Horizon build for the experienced owners, who selected Horizon for its ability to customize the yacht to their standards; customizations that included the incorporation of the first Skyline or enclosed skylounge configuration for the FD75.  To suit their active cruising lifestyle, the owners specified a three-stateroom layout for the 23 meter explorer yacht comprising the semi on-deck, full-beam master stateroom, one of the hallmarks of the FD75, with two large full-beam guest staterooms on the lower deck.  The owners were heavily involved in the design process and worked in tandem with both the Horizon Yacht Australia team and the yard’s in-house design center to execute a sophisticated and modern interior that perfectly complements the signature styling of the Cor D. Rover-designed series.  On the main deck, a spacious aft deck houses a dining table and flows into the main salon, which features an L-shaped seating area with large dining area and country-kitchen-style galley occupying the six meter beam forward.  The owners specified an interior package of satin Acacia wood complemented by Michelangelo marble stonework throughout. The stonework itself serves as a focal point in the galley area, where it is both the backsplash and the feature stone of the center island with waterfall edges. A slatted feature wall disguises the full-height appliances and divides the galley area from the forward master suite, which is accessed via three steps down. Here, the Acacia wood is complemented by carpeting and textured wallpaper and highlighted by Michelangelo stonework.  On the lower deck, a spacious laundry room is complemented by two additional staterooms forward of the engine room. Each comprises the yacht’s full beam and features large closets and en suites. A beach club with a lounge area and dayhead resides aft of the engine room.  A floating interior staircase in the main salon leads to the enclosed skylounge on the uppermost deck which features a helm station with three fixed helm chairs with a comfortable window side lounge seating and day-head in the lounge area. The large open boat deck offers plenty of space for entertaining with tender storage aft. Settees for relaxing and sunbathing are positioned on the foredeck.  Following this launch a second FD75 with skyline was sold to a North American client in February 2022.

Project: Horizon PC68

Following a record-breaking year of sales, with the milestone fiftieth hull sold, Horizon Power Catamarans proudly announces the newest addition to its popular series of power catamarans. Positioned at the head of the multi-hulled PowerCat range that begins with the entry-level PC52 and includes a PC60 and a custom PC74 flagship, the new, ultra-spacious Horizon PC68 model has been meticulously planned to meet and exceed the cruising needs of discerning boaters. The Horizon PC68 is offered in two layouts both in four cabins. An interesting choice is to have an owners stateroom on the forward part of the main deck, and three cabins below deck, while another option is to have the owners suite in the starboard hull, and having the forward part of the main deck replaced by a dinette. The Horizon PC68 is to be powered by twin Man 850hp engines. No performance estimates are yet given. The first Horizon PC68 will feature an open-plan salon, which as I understand means owners stateroom in the lower deck, and will make its global debut at the 2023 Horizon Yachts Open House in Taiwan, followed by a U.S. debut at the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show.

New Model: Horizon FD92

A new model has joined Horizon rapidly expanding Fast Displacement FD Series of high-volume, high-performance motor and super yachts. Recently launched, the brand new FD92 is the Series first ever tri-deck design, and features both an interior pilothouse and an open flybridge. The design was born out of an experienced owner’s request for a configuration change to the FD87 layout that would incorporate both a protected interior helm station and the option for al fresco navigation. Horizon’s engineers accommodated the request by designing a hull form that accommodated a lightweight carbon fiber flybridge without compromising performance. Perched atop the proven High-Performance Piercing Bow and hull design, the FD92 maintains a wide seven meters beam and the voluminous interior that defines the Cor D. Rover-designed FD Series. Maximizing all of the coveted features of the FD Series, such as a spacious interior and expansive windows, the new FD92 features a five-stateroom layout with an on-deck master, crew quarters and a beach club. The FD92’s tri-deck design allows for a helm, L-shaped seating, sunpad and a bar equipped with a fridge and icemaker to be positioned on the uppermost deck, which can be shaded with a bimini top. Another inviting exterior area has been designed for the foredeck, which features a six-person Jacuzzi, curved seating area, sun-pads, fridge/icemaker and plenty of storage. This area, too, can be protected with a custom fore-deck shade system. Aft of the enclosed skylounge which houses the helm station, lounge seating and a day-head the boat deck features a custom entertainment arrangement with a dinette and fully equipped bar. The tender is comfortably stowed furthest aft while underway and the entire area can be cooled by a custom shade system. Intended for entertaining, the aft deck has been designed to accommodate formal dining for ten with a wet bar on the starboard side and a large built-in sofa with storage aft. The superstructure design led to a proportionate hull modification giving this yacht an extended length augmenting the already spacious beach club and hi/lo swim platform and water sports area. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines of 1900hp each, this first FD92 will provide her owners with a smooth ride and island-friendly draft for cruising throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas.

Project: Horizon CC98

A loyal Horizon yacht owner has ordered his latest dream yacht, a special build from the Taiwan yacht builder Custom Collection, a CC98. This is fourth Horizon vessel for the experienced Australian owner, who requested specific and somewhat challenging details drawn from the best aspects of his previous vessels, including accommodations for a helicopter as well as a submarine.  An adventurous yachtsman who enjoys cruising to remote locations, the owner, having previously owned a CC80, an E84 and an E88, requested that his new yacht feature an exterior style similar to the Horizon E Series yachts. He also liked the interior space and natural light afforded by the FD Series and approached the yard with a request for a combination of both. Thus, this new CC98 will boast a unique exterior profile, with expansive windows and a spacious interior with seven meters beam.  To accommodate a touch-and-go helipad, the entire superstructure of this new vessel will be constructed of carbon fiber composite, which not only guarantees strength and structural integrity for the helipad but also considers hull performance and efficiency by significantly reducing the weight of the upper decks.  To accommodate either a submarine or a large inflatable up to seven meters of size on the deck, the enclosed sky lounge will be positioned forward an additional two meters. 4 tons and 1.5 ton lifting cranes will be incorporated to manage the launch and retrieval of such large pieces of equipment. This yacht also features a telescoping mast and radar arch to navigate the low bridges in Australia.  Within the spacious interior, guests will be accommodated in five staterooms including a full-beam, on-deck master suite. A large galley area is positioned aft on the main deck to facilitate dining either on the aft deck or at the interior dining table. Relaxation and entertaining areas are found throughout and the fore-deck has been designed to accommodate a jacuzzi and large sun-pad.  Great consideration was given to the engine selection so as to accommodate long-range and efficient cruising. With this in mind, commercial-grade MTU engines have been chosen. The ZF trailing gearboxes are designed for full redundancy and to enable the ability to run on one motor, which reduces fuel burn and engine hours. Lithium-ion battery packs will also be installed to offset the house functions such as air conditioning and general electricity. The fuel capacity has also substantially increased to 24600 liters.  Currently under construction and on schedule to deliver to her owner in early 2021, the new Horizon CC98 will easily provide the owner the opportunity to travel to the world’s most remote locations with his family, friends and favorite toys. This fourth Horizon is a dream super yacht for an owner who appreciates the exceptional quality, proven functionality, and opportunities for customization and innovation that Horizon offers with its Custom Collection platform.

Project: Horizon FD125

Horizon Yachts and world renowned designer Cor D. Rover have partnered to collaborate on a brand new design, the FD125 Skyline superyacht. Similar in concept to the other models in the FD series, the FD125 features large windows in main deck and flybridge, bringing abundant natural light to the interior spaces. The enhanced interior volume incorporates double salons, spacious galley, on-deck full beam deluxe master cabin on the main deck, four en-suite staterooms on the lower level, plus accommodation for a crew of eight. The immense and multi functional alfresco areas are ideal places either for private family gathering or for parties with friends. The FD125 is a perfect combination of an ocean going super yacht and a luxurious beach house. The Horizon FD125 Skyline is to be powered by twin 1800hp Cat engines.
