Project: Sciallino Sc 27 Ventisette

This size has always been the bread and butter of Sciallino, and now continuing its new course presents an important entry level project. Designed as all the new line by Luca Maschera the Sc 27 Ventisette follows a similar line to its larger new other 30 and 36 sisters, with traditional Ligurian Gozzo Italian fishing boat lines coupled to a planning Vee shape hull. The Sc 27 is a two cabin cruiser which sleeps three in two cabins, forward and at midships. Its living area is on the main deck, with a galley behind the helm to starboard, and a relaxing sofa to port side. For a nine meter cruiser the Sc 27 will offer some important details some typical to the traditional inspired Gozzo cruisers, as safe side decks, others not so much as the fully enclosed patio door closed cabin house on the main deck. Three engine options are available for the Sc 27, single Mercury diesel 260hp or VM 350hp, or twin 170hp again from Mercury diesel.

Project: Sciallino Sc 36 Trentasei

It takes courage to re-invent one self, but Sciallino a North West Liguria region Italian brand builder of traditional Italian Gozzo fishing boat translated into a cruiser is doing just this since about a year. For this operation Sciallino brought in designer Luca Maschera, who got duty to present a totally new line of models. The Sc 36 Trentasei will be the largest of the new projects so far on offer, and are all distinctive for respecting tradition with a twist in modernity. As the rendering of the Sc 36 shows the new Sciallino gives pride to what the Italian company stood for in years. Going into the technical side the new Sciallino will be direct line shaft powered, but offers a large portfolio of engines; in the case of the Sc 36 five from a single Volvo 435hp up to twin VM 350hp.  Interior wise the Sciallino will boast more choices then ever and unlike the old models available only in mahogany wood, the new ones have options for maple, oak, teak, and walnut trims. The standard layout of the Sc 36 is offered in two cabins sleeping four with a dinette and kitchen on the main deck behind the helm. But an option also exists here; with the midships cabin available with three berths instead of two, or all the lower deck possible to have in a full open plan layout.

Web: Sciallino New Web Site

Sciallino from Italy presents its new World wide web showroom.  Founded in 1961 by Mario Sciallino in the Ligurian riviera town of Ceriale, this company started by building working boats for the fisherman of the area.  This start gave Sciallino a growing knowledge of how to build safe boats able to tackle rough seas, and in the early eighties Mario also wins the title of Nautical Pioneer for his below the waterline extension known as Pattino, which increased stability and also allowed the use of bigger engines.  After this development in the Sciallino hulls the builder has evolved in building traditional looking cruisers and yachts characterized by looks echoing the Ligurian Gozzo.  Today Sciallino builds nine models starting from the Ino 3.80 mts this being its latest model, to the much appreciated and luxurious 15.95 mt Gemy flagship.  Sciallino new web site is available in English and Italian language and takes you around with the following buttons; Home, History, The Values, Models, Sciallino Amico, Dealer, Press Release, News, and Contact.

Improve-it = Sciallino S23 Cabinato

Sciallino are proud to announce their first hybrid boat born on the S23 Cabinato in cooperation with Mizuno Marine from Japan, and Italian Scandiesel. Sciallino first hybrid powered craft with diesel and electrical engine will be introduced at the Yokohama boat show in Japan on March 2011. A new step in developing a modern and ecological boat, based this time on an entry level traditional cruiser the S23 Cabinato model. The Steyr engine running diesel mode will drive the Sciallino's to the open Japanese sea and ocean, thus emphasizing the hull's strength and seaworthiness. On the other hand, one could turn the diesel off, to activate the electrical modem and the traditional gozzo hull will softly glide by the shore, quiet and respectful for the environment, with the great efficiency of full displacement cruising. It seems many builders are trying hybrid power, although this seems so far more of interest to large plus seventy feet sizes, all smaller to nine meters boats.
