A traditional cruiser of about twelve in length was found drifting and sunk in-front to San Nicolo l'Arena near Palermo, Sicily Island on the morning of Saturday tenth October. The boat was first found by a boater who was fishing in the area, who reported this to the Port Captaincy of Palermo. The Port Captaincy tended to the scene and with it's diving section inspected the boat, and found no persons inside. The boat was found trapped in a fishing net, and the first hypothesis is that the boat sunk offshore to Palermo and drifted to the area with the current. The investigation also found that sinking did not happen long time ago, as the boat appeared rather clean from any marine vegetation growth.
