Sea Ray Ends Beached in Coney Island

A ten meter Sea Ray sports cruiser titled m/y Broken Arrow with one person onboard ended beached by the West 37th Street Jetty, Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York just before 19:00 hours of Friday twentieth October.  The Sea Ray sport cruiser is reported to have left a marina on Rockaway in rough seas and had some problems with a risk of sinking, with the skipper onboard beaching it to avoid her going down.  The sport cruiser was reported being secured on the same night by the owner.  The day after the ownership was reported trying to unbeach the boat, with no success.
We have reports that until 1 November Broken Arrow was still beached in the same spot.
M/y Broken Arrow is a Sea Ray 340 Express Cruiser as produced from 1984 to 1989.  Similar to the Sundancer in looks, the Sea Ray Express Cruiser featured line shafts propulsion, and a smaller interior.  The 340 Express Cruiser also had a 340 Sport Fisherman flybridge variant produced till 1987, and was replaced by the 310/330 Express Cruiser.

New Launch: Vanquish VQ80 SF

A custom order which was signed in the end of 2020 the Vanquish VQ80 SF is a sport-yacht-fish cross over, like we never have seen before.  Designed as all Vanquish by Guido de Groot with its main duty to be a chase yacht for the Heesen 60-metre superyacht hull number YN19995 Project SkyFall which launched the first half of 2023, the VQ80 SF introduces something new for Vanquish and to the conservative sea-fishing world. The VQ80 Sportsfish might be the young 2012 founded semi-custom-production Vanquish most substantive customization as yet, taking the Dutch builder away from its usual sport yacht zone into that of a hybrid between a luxurious sportfish and a sport-performance-yacht.  The customization though does not deviate Vanquish from its De Groot futuristic lines and the VQ80 SF is a sports yacht first with sportfishing features later; like the tower and free aft cockpit with central high rise aft looking mezzanine. Important to note the yacht features shine through, integrated bathing platform aft, two side opening balconies, lower helm station, and full walk around deck.  Down below the Vanquish VQ80 SF offers a three double cabins layout with an owners suite forward, and a crew cabin for two.  Performance? If competing in a sports fishing tournament the VQ80 SF might actually take first for speed, with twin Cats 2400hp and surface drive propulsion giving a 52 knots performance.

Storm Babet

Storm Babet has made havoc in Britain, northern Germany and southern Scandinavia, with powerful winds, heavy rain and storm surges that caused floods, power outages, evacuations and disrupted flights, railway service and ferry lines.  Storm Babet made landfall on Thursday nineteen October, first arriving in the northern part of the United Kingdom, and continued making havoc in North Germany and Southern Scandinavia up till Saturday 21st October.  Gale-force winds whipped up storm surges on the southern shores of the Baltic Sea, breaking through flood defences in coastal areas in Denmark and northern Germany. In Flensburg, a German city just south of the border with Denmark, water levels rose more than two meters to the highest level recorded in a century.
Forming on the fifteen October Storm Babet also called Storm Viktor in Germany, is an extratropical cyclone which affected Northern and Western Europe, reaching speeds up to one hundred knots, and has caused nine fatalities.
So far we know that Storm Babet caused damage in the following German yacht marinas; Olympic port of Schilksee in Kiel, Damp, north of Eckernförde, and Wassersleben Marina in Harrislee near Flansbee causing damage to over 200 boats.  The storm in these harbours was caused on Friday twentieth October.

Project: Azimut Seadeck 9

Azimut new Seadeck series with sport-adventure looks and a large aft beach club area which extends both aft and to ship-sides set to launch with the 6 model in 2024, is already proving to be one of the most anticipated launches of the upcoming year.  Now Azimut is teasing Seadeck series fans even more with the first side profile rendering of the 9 project.  The Azimut Seadeck 9 was not announced during the press release of the new sporty range in March 2023, which announced the trio of 6, 7, and 8 models from sixty to eighty feet, with the 24 meter flagship still under wraps; no rendering shown and a target date launch for early 2025.  At this stage it is not known if the Azimut Seadeck 9 is an additional fourth model of the range, or if the 8 became larger because of a client request or during project and market analysis.  What we know so far of the Seadeck 9 is that it will feature an impressive 30% reduction in Co2 emissions thanks to the use of Bio-Diesel as envisioned by Azimut Green Path partnered with Politecnico di Torino, Eni Sustainable Mobility, Lloyd's Register, and Superyacht Eco Association as created by Yacht Club de Monaco and Credit Suisse.

New Model: Greenline 58 Fly

Greenline 58 Fly is here, so says the website of the Slovenian motor cruiser and yacht builder who raised into fame following the launch of its 32 model in 2008.  With this new flagship Greenline is celebrating fifteen years in business and over a thousand deliveries, a celebration which have seen the builder always pushing on its clean hybrid energy beliefs, and today has arrived in its fifth version of the H-drive electric-diesel-solar propulsion system.  Designed by Marco Casali the Greenline 58 Fly is a spacious eighteen meter motor yacht offering the latest design trends, from open view veranda aft decks, hard-top up top which can be optioned with more solar panels, and an astern galley main deck layout.  Down below the Italian designer and Slovenian builder present a spacious three double cabins three heads layout with a midships full beam owners stateroom.  A choice exists here to have a two head layout, and replace the third en-suite with a walk-in ward robe for the VIP suite, with an option for the third cabin to modify as an office room.  The new Greenline 58 Fly is standard powered by twin Cummins 610hp as standard with optional engines going up to 1000hp by Cats or Volvo for top speeds around thirty knots.  As in any Greenline the 58 Fly follows the Slovenian green energy offer with a 1.32kw solar power system which is optionable up to 3.63 kw if you add the extra panels in the hard-top, and a twin 25 or 100kw electric motors option.  Greenline cruising is here and with the smaller 25kw electric motors alone the 58 Fly is able to reach six knots top speed and cruise for 25 nautical miles at five knots, while with the larger 100kw top speed goes up to twelve knots and at seven knots cruises for 25 nm in electric mode only, and up to 500 nm with diesel generators.

New Model: Absolute 52 Fly

For 2023 Absolute presents its new 52 Fly model, a sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht full of comfort, and class leading accommodation .  The second generation 52 Fly follows the design theme as Absolute Design and Research Lab outlined with the 60 Fly in 2021 and followed with the 56 Fly last year, with this sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht doing the third act of this future looking design.  The new Absolute 52 Fly is a modern flybridge motor yacht, which features an unusual layout of an owners stateroom forward, and the VIP room at midships.  A third cabin with twin berths is located to starboard, with a guest shower head serving the two guest cabins located to port side.  An optional crew cabin is also available in the Absolute 52 Fly, which if you option does not affect the glazed stern parapet open gunwale design.  The Absolute 52 Fly has a living main deck with an astern galley layout, a lounging which becomes dining C-shaped dinette forward, and a side door equipped helm station featuring a direct access to the open gunwale for easy side mooring.  Of note in the Absolute 52 Fly are the flybridge which again is one of the most spacious in this size and is optionable with a hard-top, and the fore deck spaces which is another class leading act.  Falling short somewhere, I would say the performance of the Absolute 52 Fly is not really breath taking, with a top speed of 28 knots and a cruise of twenty, and a 190 nautical miles range.

Super Yacht Australia Aground in Singapore

A 56 meter Benetti super yacht titled m/y Australia and registered under Malta flag hit a reef off the Buran Channel, just one nautical mile of Sentosa Resort, Singapore on 16:25 of Monday sixteen October.  Australia was just exiting the Sentosa resort and at about one nautical mile from the harbour entrance she was seen listing to its port side.  Some unconfirmed reports said the yacht had a pilot onboard, and other news said it developed a mechanical damage and deviating from its course outside the channel leading it to go into the shallower area and ultimately run partly aground.  Singapore Maritime and Port Authority advised that there was no disruption to port channel traffic, no pollution happened in the grounding, and no injuries are being reported.  Six hours after the grounding Australia was re-floated and resting at anchor to East of Sentosa assessing its damage, with a tug boat nearby ready for assistance.  Some reports are saying that Australia had a hull breach during the grounding and will be dry-docked for repairs.
Since 2021 m/y Australia is owned by down under billionaire mining magnate Clive Palmer, who purchased the 56 meter Benetti in December 2020, at the time asking a price of just under thirty million US dollars.
M/y Australia, previously named Bash and launched as Ulysses is a 2012 Benetti 56M series as designed by Stefano Natucci and delivered in four build to order units from 2005 to 2012, with Australia being the last of these builds. The 56M was a following of Benetti's successful Golden Age 50M steel build semi custom series which debuted in 1997 and sold in seven units up to 2008.

Project: Fiart P48

Fiart Patrovich collaboration enters the second chapter, and present the P48 project set to launch in 2024.  With the smaller fourteen meter P48 designer Patrovich follows what he did with the sixteen meter P54 which debuted in 2022, for a fore to deck sport cruiser with a large central T-Top covering the main living deck area, and two fore and aft sunbathing zones.  The Fiart Patrovich series are near unbeatable for exterior spaces, offering fore to aft spaces, in a wide-body cockpit format which also thanks to a higher freeboard does not sacrifice interior cabin spaces. Differences between the larger P54 and P48 are at the stern, with the P48 offering a fixed bathing platform with optional transformer, unlike the flip platform which when closed closes the stern as in the larger sixteen meter. The Fiart P48 as to what we know is to offer a standard two cabins layout, with a VIP suite to fore and a master room at midships.  Fiart has not communicated power options for the P48, but expect Volvo power with IPS pod propulsion.

Princess New Web Site

Princess updates it's new World wide web showroom to a new version. Princess which is today one of the most World famous production yacht builders was founded in 1965, at the time named Marine Projects and launching a 31 feet motor cruiser. From the early seventies and for thirty years Marine Projects also owned sailing yacht builder Moody, in this period developing forty models and selling over four thousand units.  In 1981 Princess will make an important move hiring Bernard Olesinski to design the 30DS model, who since then has designed all Princess models hull shape.  Interesting to note that the 30DS will be one of Princesses best selling models, with over five hundred units sold in a ten year production which also includes the flybridge version released in 1986. In 1983 Princess enters the open sport cruiser market with the Riviera line, first is the 286 model, followed by a 36, with the larger being the 46, and smallest the 266, with seven Riviera models being made till 1994.  Following from the Riviera in 1995 Princess present the V series line of open sport cruisers and yachts.  The V series is distinctive and modern with its Italian design inspired integrated windshield radar arch and straight lines, and starts with the V39 and V52 models. The V series expands into integrated hard-top design first with the V65 launched in 2000, and its largest model to date is the not still produced 2010 launched V85-S.  Currently the V-series offers five models from the V40 to the V65.  In 1996 Princess launched the Metre line of flagship motor yachts, first with the 20 Metre, then 22 Metre.  In 2001 Princess enters the 24 meters plus super yacht size with the 25 Metre, flagship model and largest build of the time. Another important Metre model will be the good selling 23 model. In 2011 Princess pushes more into super yacht launching the M class line, first with 32M, which is followed in 2012 by the largest Princess to date and composite boat ever build in the UK the 40M. The M series which had a total of four models including the 35M and 30M, this smaller M being the newer and last model in the line, was dropped in 2020.  Princess is since Winter 2023 owned by American private equity firm KPS Capital Partners. who takes over from French investing company Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Group Arnault the owners from 2008. Previous to this and from 1981 Princess was owned by Renwick Group from South Africa. The Princess current line up offers nineteen models in five different lines; X Class, Y Class, F Class, S Class, and V Class. The current Princess entry level model is the V40 while the flagship models are Y95 and the X95. Princess latest 2023 models are S72 and Y80, with upcoming new projects for an S80, S65, and a V65. Princess new web site is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese language and takes you around with the following buttons: Our Craft, Our Brand, Careers, and Find a Distributor.  Princess is also on social media with link buttons on the bottom of the page taking you to its; Facebook, Twitter.
