Improve-it = Greenline 33

Having sold over two hundred units in the first two years till 2011 of production Greenline updates its much appreciated 33 model with further enhancements.  The most important of the seven improvements for the 33 are the choice of a grey colour hull option.  But the updates do not stop here.  There is new optional choices for canopy and carpet materials, and now the dashboard has also received a new trim, and an option for grey colour cushions to go with the new hull colour is also available.  A second fridge in the main deck is now part of the standard equipment, while there is also a choice to make the exterior deck covered with Flexiteek.  The last addition is the option to install QL trim tabs.

New Model: Viking 52 Open Bridge Convertible

Launched in June, the new Viking 52 Convertible is another impressive addition to this builders renowned stable of blue-water tournament contenders. As you would expect from Viking, this model evolves from recent introductions before it including the 42, 55 and the 62. In a commitment to build a better boat every day it is insufficient to merely add a fresh face to the line up unless it incorporates the latest treatments and engineering milestones and the new Viking 52 has all this and more. The resin infused hull boasts a sophisticated matrix of composite materials including end-grain balsa coring, DuPont Kevlar, and knitted fiberglass laminates. The one-piece deckhouse assembly stretching from the bow pulpit to the inner transom liner features carbon fibre in its composite structure. A moulded fiberglass forepeak liner forward of the engine room sheds weight by incorporating the outer walls and floor, the lower port bunk, the sink base module and the shower pan for both heads, and the forward starboard bunk base. Maple lined interior hanging locker doors and cabinet and drawer fronts utilize a lightweight honeycomb core material. Continuing along its evolutionary trail, the forward entry is sharpened to knife through head seas. The convex hull shape adds buoyancy and moulded strakes on the bottom provide lift for planning efficacy. As a whole, these hull and the V-bottom features and the 11.8 degree transom deadrise, utilize horsepower most efficiently for better speed and faster throttle response in keeping with the theme of all new Vikings.  The three-stateroom, two-head layout offers a choice of sleeping arrangements in the bow. The standard layout features crossover berths with the lower a double bunk and the upper port side berth a large single. This will be the stateroom layout on hull number one. A second plan is available offering a custom queen berth. On both versions, the master is fitted with a walk-around queen bed and is served with a private head and shower. A third stateroom to port has upper and lower berths. The port and forward staterooms are separated by a shared head and shower. Ample stowage is provided in the three staterooms with large maple-lined hanging lockers, credenzas, and deep drawer space, as well as beneath each bunk. A laundry center in the companionway is standard. The salon is inviting and the area is well proportioned thanks to five meters plus beam for relaxation and entertainment with an L-shape lounge, a home theatre system, a dinette, and an L-shape galley complemented with Amtico flooring, and an island fronted with a pair of bar stools. Rich Juno teak joinery and furniture throughout the yacht, custom designer furnishings and dry good create a spectacular aura of refinement and luxury. The 142 square-foot cockpit offers the convenience and comfort of the observation mezzanine, while the flying bridge showcases Viking exclusive centre console helm station arrangement with flanking lounges and forward seating.  Engine choices is three MAN engines; from 1000 to 1400hp. Hull number one was powered by MAN 1400hp diesels providing a cruise speed of 35 knots and a top end of 40 knots.

Project: Sessa C42

Sessa shows the renderings and some project details for one of the coming novelties to be presented in the coming boat show season in Cannes and Genoa, the C42, a sport cruiser with hard top, having as its prime objective easy usage and practical solutions.  The C42 offers interesting living details something which is a common occurrence in the recent Sessa models, from a large galley inside with a 120 litres fridge to a practical transforming versatile aft deck which transforms from an L-shaped lounge settee to a sunpad and also features an extendable soft top.  The C42 measures just above thirteen meters and its beam of 3.90 meters makes it share hull with the 40 Fly model, one of the latest Sessa models.  Its inside will offer two double cabins; with an owners cabin located to fore.  An interesting option in the C42 will be the BBQ version which features this to aft on the bathing platform, without disturbing guest on the aft deck.  Power is from twin Volvo 300hp or optional 370 units both with IPS pod propulsion.

New Model: Riviera 50 Enclosed Bridge

Riviera presents its new 50 Enclosed Flybridge a turning point in its sportfish and yacht hybrid, with its latest models offering more solutions to the later then the former.  Pod powered the 50 Enclosed Flybridge is a comfortable sportfish yacht with abounding latest design features and interesting options to the customer.  As a main choice is to have the owners room to fore or portside amidships.  Other latest layout features are an astern galley, and an internal stair case to the enclosed bridge.  The 50 Enclosed Bridge has also two tender storage options; from the European method on the bathing platform, or the more sportfish way on the fore deck.  Standard power is twin Cummins 600hp or optional Volvo 700 units. Propulsion in both cases is pods, but with the Cummins you get the ZF and the Volvo features its own made IPS drives.  Hull one was powered with twin Cummins 600hp reaching wide open throttle speeds of 30 knots.

Project: Fairline 48 Targa GT

A further evolution of the new Fairline 48 hull, which is powered by IPS pods and is to be offered in three different variants; Targa Open, Targa GT, and Squadron.  The 48 Targa GT is very similar to the Open version, but while at it Fairline tweaked more the coach roof design, extended the hard top even further, and also created new side windows profile.  The main difference between this and the Open is that the main deck is divided in half by a two part patio door making the fore part a more cosy enclosed affair. For the rest the 48 Targa GT is similar to its other sister, with a layout choice of two or three cabins, and also a galley located below.  Power is twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives.

Improve-it = Carolina Classic 35

Carolina Classic has been very quiet in recent years in presenting new models, so when this small volume high quality US builder recently launched its 35 feet flagship with some improvements it was fair to give them some space on PowerYachtBlog.  This latest Carolina Classic 35 was recently launched with a new hard top design more extended then to the original.  This just launched 35 is powered by twin Cummins 550hp giving a nice cruise of 31 knots, and the solid ride this US builder is associated with.  The Carolina Classic 35 is the flagship of a four model line up of well build sportfish cruisers which start at 25 feet.  The 35 features a two plus two interior layout with a forward berth, L-shaped saloon, galley, and separate head.  The cockpit features a free aft deck space, with two step higher area offering a large L-shaped lounger, and the helm station to starboard. Her hull is a full solid fiberglass build something rare these days, and the V-shape keel with fine sharp entry closes at eighteen degrees aft.

Project: Uniesse 95 Sport

Uniesse showcases the project of another super yacht this time of sports nature, the 95 Sport.  This very quality labelled Italian builder for its Sport line flagship, presents modern looks of round shape and flybridge which integrates well into the design but will be as these renderings suggest visible from the outside.  The standard layout of the bridge offers a large helm settee for four person located in the middle, a wet-bar behind it, and a large sun pad, all this located centrally.  The main deck saloon of the 95 is dedicated for the most part for entertainment excluding the helm to port side, and a small galley to starboard.  Here you have a large C-shaped saloon, a dining table for eight, and another small C-shaped dinette which I cannot actually fully understand its purpose.  Below is space for four cabins sleeping eight guests with the large owners staterooms located amidships, and the VIP suite queen sized berth looking to starboard.  A galley and crew lobby, plus two cabins served with one shower head are located amidships infront of the engine room, and behind the owners cabin.  Power is standard twin MTU 2217hp, and optional 2334 units.  A 32 knots top speed is estimated from the standard engines.

New Model: Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse

A super Hatteras of eighty feet plus, is always something special as this company has in the eighties dominated the high part of the market back in the days.  Come luxury tax in the nineties and Hatteras has in latest years not build much super yachts over one hundred feet.  The Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse is a return from the World famous Carolina boat builder in building a one hundred foot super yacht.  As recent Hatteras in the Motor Yachts range the 100 Raised Pilothouse features an inspired European looking super structure, thanks to a collaboration with Italian designer Enrico Gobbi from Team for Design, though fair to say the hull still looks US with its flared bow, and reverse shear line in the middle.  From the order book the 100 Raised Pilothouse offers some interesting options to the buyer from a master stateroom to fore deck or amidships, or optional tender garage to aft.  In total the new Hatteras flagship offers a total of seven layouts; two for the flybridge, three for the main deck, and two for below cabin area arrangements.  Power is twin Cat 1900 as standard, or optional 2600hp MTU.

New Model: Princess V62-S

Can you improve something very close to perfection, this is what the designers at Princess went on doing when they tweaked the V62, one of its most praised models into the new S version.  As is noticeable in this pictures the new V62-S features important feature design elements which enhance its looks; from a lightly revised stern shear line and engine air intakes, to a more modified hard top now featuring a more pronounced radar arch, to new glass view windows for the full beam owners cabin.  For the remaining the V62-S keeps what was good of its ancestor, a balanced sport yacht with spacious outside areas, and living interiors offering the best of both worlds.

Project: Island Pilot 440

With the 440 Island Pilot merges the styling from the new 535 with the proven performance and livable spaces of the 435. In addition to the one stateroom head and 1.5 stateroom head versions of the 435, is the new two stateroom head version.  The 440 will also have the aft cockpit settee, the L stair to the bridge and radar arch. The 440 will also have higher bulwarks plus a built-in settee aft and and L-stairs to the bridge. As the 434 the Island Pilot 440 will be powered by twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives.
