New Model: Nordhavn 51

Announced in early 2021 it's been a bit of time coming for the Nordhavn 51, but finally the first unit has been launched in Turkey.  The Nordhavn 51 looks set to come as a replacement to the 52 although she is a bit smaller and leaner, with a shallower draft.  Like the 41 she is build in Turkey, the second Nordhavn model to be build outside of Taiwan.  Designed by Jeff Leishman the Nordhavn 51 gets a bit more modern take on its traditional looks, and here we see the addition of larger glazed windows for both the lower cabin deck, and the main deck saloon area.  The Nordhavn 51 offers a two cabins lower deck with an an owners stateroom at midships, and a guest suite forward.  For fifteen meters she has some interesting features like completely separate two cabins, and a third day head, which can be replaced as a cabinet.  The Nordhavn 51 is powered by twin John Deere 160hp for speeds up to ten knots, and cruise of eight for a long range over three thousand nautical miles.

Improve-it = Nordhavn 41

The Nordhavn 41 is the company’s first-ever fully fledged production boat and it has been received exceptionally well with 41 hulls committed, just three years since the launch of the first boat. While the N41 suffered some bumps during its roll out in 2020 thanks to the pandemic and subsequent supply chain roadblocks, the Telgeren Factory which builds the entry level Nordhavn, seems to be hitting its stride right now. The latest boat to be delivered, hull #22 which was exhibited at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in October underwent the smoothest commissioning process of any N41 to date, which Nordhavn Vice President Jim Leishman attributes to experience and an easing of logistics issues. Leishman recently returned from a visit to Telgeren, in Tuzla, Turkey along with Chief of Design Jeff Leishman, and project managers Trever Smith and Drew Leishman, who were there to inspect and sea trial the latest hulls. In addition to the precision of work that comes with familiarity, the Nordhavn 41 is undergoing upgrades. The biggest of these comes in the form of new deck tooling. Improvements to the new deck include new hatches, gutters, complete reconfiguration of the deck drains and recessing the deck rails. The Nordhavn 41 is built as a complete boat with virtually every detail included in the spec, which has been enhanced with upgrades on later hulls including Naiad stabilizers, Spurs line cutters, upgraded Steelhead davit with 362 kilograms lift capability, a second Garmin screen, sliding window in galley, flush-mounted LED deck lights and a foredeck awning which is sturdy enough to be left up in most any conditions. The main engines have also been switched out to 115hp Nanni diesels, a move made strictly to address supply issues.

New Model: Nordhavn 71

Hull #1 of the brand new Nordhavn 71 model was launched at the Ta Shing factory at the end of July, marking a milestone in the modern era of famous explorer yachts name. With the Nordhavn 71 comes a luxurious ocean crossing masterpiece, meant to be owner-operated. She is being shipped to Seattle in the moment to owners who have put their faith and trust in the Nordhavn brand the past twenty years, creating memories aboard their prior three hulls: a 50, 57 and 68. Soon they will take delivery of the N7101 and explore the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. The N71 was conceived and designed by Nordhavn’s Chief of Design, Jeff Leishman, in early 2021, followed by mould construction and a steady progression of hull builds. Currently Nordhavn is building 71 hull three. N71 represents the further development of the third generation Nordhavn designs, incorporating a subtle elegance of styling evolution based on her longer waterline and plumb bow. Beneath her skin, the N71 is packed with leading edge technology and includes features as the bulbous bow, based on 45 years experience of owner feedback, and creating and evolving Nordhavn models. With a twenty meter waterline and generous six meters plus beam, the Nordhavn 71 is beautifully spacious and has the room and feel of larger boats, and at over one hundred tons and carrying just over 18,000 litres gallons of fuel, there is no mistaking her capability.  The Nordhavn 71 is powered by twin John Deere 285hp engines.

Project: Nordhavn 112

The next Nordhavn to be introduced to the market just might be an ultra-versatile 112-footer. Nordhavn Chief of Design Jeff Leishman has drawn the lines for a super yacht with all the amenities, features and luxuries of larger yachts but one which levels down in manageability requirements. The idea for this super yacht came when Leishman recognized a gaping difference between the Nordhavn 120 and its sistership closest in size, the 96, after the two models were docked alongside one another. The Nordhavn 120, while a masterpiece in style and function, is potentially intimidating to some buyers who don’t want the necessity of taking on a full crew to operate. Additionally, with the a huge trend of Nordhavn buyers who move up in size within the brand, the jump from 96 or even 100 feet to 120 feet was too considerable. Leishman says the key to the Nordhavn 112 is keeping it under 400 gross tons, the limit for which many systems and operations requirements are more manageable. He envisions only a small crew needed to help run the super yacht. Like most Nordhavns, it will be a full displacement hull with the capacity to carry enough fuel for transoceanic voyages. Leishman said he focused on creating outside areas for lounging and mimicked balcony-esque deck spaces found on larger mega-yachts, by way of incorporating folding bulwarks. There are also plans for a large spa tub on the flybridge and a grand lounging area forward of the pilothouse. On the aft deck behind the pilot house will be room to carry up to an eight meter tender plus a small inflatable and jet skis. She’ll also be fitted with a gym and beach-style swim step. In its current configuration the Nordhavn 112 has four queen guest cabins and one large owners’ suite, accommodations for up to six crew and a total of 10 heads. The Nordhavn 112 will be built out of steel, eliminating the considerable time and expense that FRP tooling requires, and allowing delivery of hull number on a much friendlier time schedule. Leishman also said that design change are much easier to accomplish with steel hulls. The super structure could possibly be constructed of aluminum or even FRP. Currently, Leishman and the Nordhavn design team are searching for a factory to construct the Nordhavn 112, honing in on European yards that specialize in steel construction. The first hull will be built on order.

Project: Nordhavn N71

The Nordhavn 71 is a brand new boat that will follow in the wake of the 80, providing her owners an elegant, modern, state-of-the-art passage-making explorer yacht. The N71 is a brand new hull, created especially for those who find themselves in the upper end of the mid-size range, who desire the aesthetic of one of Nordhavn’s larger yachts, but want the ability to manage without crew.  Indeed, with the first three hulls committed by former owners of Nordhavn 68 or 60 models, the N71 seems to be filling a void. Nordhavn co-owner and Chief of Design Jeff Leishman said the N71 is a modern response to the third generation Nordhavns that were built in the early 2000s. Styling, technology and creature comforts have all evolved since then. The Nordhavn 71 is available in two layouts: a three-stateroom layout with skylounge, or another that incorporates a fourth stateroom in place of the sky lounge. While decidedly smaller than the 80, the N71 mimics her twin model configuration, sleek lines and advanced level of engineering. She was designed with Nordhavn’s in-house Computational Fluid Dynamics program. As is the case with all long-range Nordhavns, she will have ocean-crossing capability and will be built to the strictest CE Certification standard for offshore use. The N71 benefits from more intuitive space planning, a stepped-up lighting schedule, a big dining room, spacious owners cabin and larger windows. She will also keep in step with newer Nordhavns being offered with a more complete spec, thus keeping costs and build time wrangled. The specification includes a credit for furniture so buyers can choose their own chairs, dining table, pillows and the like, resulting in a highly-individualized yacht.  She’ll be constructed by the craftsmen at the Ta Shing yard in Taiwan, where the 68 and 76 are built. Tooling is currently being fabricated and the first hull is expected to begin construction in January of 2022. The lead time of hull #1 will be 18 months but Leishman anticipates production will streamline down to 15 months with subsequent models.

Project: Nordhavn N625

Nordhavn Pacific Asian Enterprises, is excited to announce a new model addition in its line-up of passage-making yachts. The Nordhavn 625 will be a twist on the current Nordhavn 60 hull. What helps keep Nordhavn at the top of its game is the continual push to move its designs forward. We have seen this in the past with the N52 from the N47, the N60 and 63 from the N55, the N68 from the N64, the N76 from the N72, and the N96 from the 86. By refreshing existing hulls, it allows the company to efficiently introduce updated, modern offerings. The N625 will be a combination of what’s working incredibly well for Nordhavn right now: the new model is based on the very popular Nordhavn 60 and will employ some of the same bulk production techniques being used with the N41 and 51 builds. Despite a number of Nordhavn 60 orders on the books, Nordhavn co-owner and Chief of Design Jeff Leishman saw an opportunity to further improvise the model’s proven hull. It has sustained extraordinary success beginning with the Nordhavn 55, and is also used as the basis of the Nordhavn 63. More than 100 of the hull’s three iterations combined have been sold.  The result is a fresh, modern exterior that’s in keeping with the sleeker feel Leishman has been injecting into his latest models. The Nordhavn 625 will maintain the same footprint as the N60, but will also feel entirely different, said Leishman. As a result of his “cleaning up the lines”, the flybridge is slightly bigger, the windows in the cabins will be bigger, and some seating has been added to the foredeck. Like the N60 and N63 before her, the N625 will have three cabins, two below and one behind the wheelhouse. The N625 also takes a nod from the Turkish built N41 and N51 designs, utilizing a production boat-approach to ordering. She will have more equipment and features as standard which equates to a more resourceful buy. The spec won’t be as strict as her smaller sisters but certainly the boat won’t be as customizable as the 60 and 63. The boat will be built by Nordhavn’s partner factory, South Coast, at their brand new Taiwanese facility. South Coast, which also builds the N60, ventured into Taiwan in part to combat the Chinese tariff. The N625 will lay up in May, the first boat to be built at the Taiwan location. It is expected to complete by the end of 2021. Current availability is for hull number three.

Project: Nordhavn 51

Pacific Asian Enterprises, is excited to announce a brand new design, the Nordhavn 51, which will follow closely in the wake of its smaller sister-ship, the N41. Inspired by the N41’s resounding success, the brand new Nordhavn 51 will mimic the same production-like structure, which places emphasis on a set, streamlined build order instead of individual customization.  The two-stateroom, two-head passage maker answers the calls from customers who are drawn to the N41 design but want more room, an additional head and a flybridge. The Nordhavn 51 will more closely resemble other long range cruising Nordhavns with her separated pilothouse, but her interior will mirror the finishes of the N41. She will be produced as a complete boat that includes stabilizers, bow thruster, and davit among other items as standard.  Powered by twin John Deere 160hp engines, the Nordhavn 51 will be a modern passagemaker to usher in the new decade with state-of-the-art technology at the engineering level and a contemporary design scheme. As is the case with the N41, the Nordhavn 51 will be CE Certified Category A for the most serious offshore use. Tooling for the N51 is underway and the first hull is expected to lay up in March. She will be built alongside the Nordhavn 41 at our partner factory in Turkey. Currently the first seven hulls have been reserved for purchase. Hull #1 is expected to finish in about 18 months.

Project: Nordhavn N148

During the Fort Lauderdale boat show 2019 Nordhavn presented details for a new N148 project.  A new flagship model, the N148 will usurp the N120 as the largest offer from the American imprinted but Chinese build boat builder, and comes from a design by Dutch firm Vripack.  The N148 is also the first Nordhavn to be build of metal, with a steel hull and aluminium upper structure and will also come with an Ice class go anywhere certification.  During the press conference the builder advised that it will take about two years to build the N148 and the 45 meter super yacht is to be build in Europe.  The Vripack design of the N148 takes mixed directions from a hull which looks typical medium sized under fifty meter Dutch super yacht with the upper structure as the pilot house and Portuguese bridge giving into traditional Nordhavn design cues.

Project: Nordhavn N41

Nordhavn is pleased to announce its newest passage making cruiser, the N41, destined to become it's  next legendary vessel.  With over seven million nautical miles of documented ocean crossings, Nordhavn has set important long cruising records. Last year Nordhavn retired the venerable 40, it's smallest passage-maker explorer cruiser and a record-setter in her own right. It left a void in the Nordhavn product line that begged for a compact displacement expedition cruiser.  Cue the sleek, modern, seaworthy Nordhavn 41, which challenges the notion of the traditional couple’s cruising vessel. Her profile is deliberately low providing a stable and comfortable ride, and her hull design, having undergone an advanced and rigorous analysis, is CE Certified Category A Ocean for offshore conditions. This means the average cruising duo can take on any itinerary with confidence whether crossing to the South Pacific or exploring around the Pacific Northwest.  Comfort and maneuverability is the name of the game on-board. The Nordhavn 41 is available with a single luxurious owners cabin or with two cabins, second guest cabin located to starboard with two L-shaped berths.  The Nordhavn N41 will be powered by twin Kibota 75hp with line shaft propulsion, while a huge 3400 liters fuel capacity will be make her able to do most ocean crossing.  Debut is scheduled for January 2020 during Dusseldorf boat show.

New Model: Nordhavn N100

Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of its newest super yacht, a 100-foot Nordhavn. Named Serenity the new Nordhavn N100 is a luminary and representative of the new reaches of excellence PAE has achieved with its most recent launches. Based on the hull of the Nordhavn 86/96, this newest expedition yacht is a dream for her avid fisherman-owner who wanted a yacht with a proper sportfishing cockpit capable of taking him to the most productive fishing spots in the world.  The lines of the new N100 are unmistakably Nordhavn, with the same elegant look found in the classic profile of the N96. The model met the buyer’s wishes for a global cruising yacht with world class construction, performance and finish. But he wanted a proper sport fishing cockpit that wouldn’t interfere with guest lounging spaces.  PAE’s design team went to work on devising a space separate from the California deck, the designated outdoor entertaining area aft of the saloon. The addition of the fishing cockpit is courtesy of an extended transom and swim step that extended the length.  While the N86 and N96 models interior is highly custom to an owners vision, N100 differs vastly from the smaller sister-ships with a very unique layout that the owner helped design in order to achieve enough staterooms for his family and sufficient quarters for crew. The result is a five-stateroom retreat, each with en-suite head, plus accommodations for a crew of four.  Destry Darr Designs created a modern, elegant and comfortable living space that features walnut wood, stainless steel inlays, Lutron lighting and extraordinary stone work. The medium-dark colored wood sets off a neutral color scheme of grey, cream and brown and allows the vibrant artwork throughout the boat to stand out.  Her distinct hull color is a regal Stars and Stripes blue.  While the longer waterline gives Serenity a slight edge in efficiency over the N96, says Chief of Design Jeff Leishman, speed and fuel capacity won’t vary from a typical Nordhavn 96 in spite of the increased length.  Built at South Coast Yacht Marine, Nordhavn N100 is being prepared to be shipped to PAE headquarters in Dana Point, CA, for final commissioning in March.

Project: Nordhavn 80

The Nordhavn 80 was born out of the demand for a boat that bridged the gap between the 76 and the 86 models. This new explorer super yacht is to be powered by twin 375hp John Deere engines, and will have a four staterooms and room for two crew interior. Optional lay-outs will include a captain’s cabin behind the bridge or an upper level owner’s suite behind the bridge in lieu of the sky lounge. The boat will feature a beautiful, functional layout and modern styling.  Tooling is expected to complete in about six months at the South Coast factory, with N80#1 launching in 2019.

Project: Nordhavn 475

Nordhavn announce the new 475 which will take the place of the 43 model. This new design is based on the N43 hull so it’s still easily controllable while providing a lot more interior and exterior space.  The interior of the Nordhavn 475 offer two spacious cabins sleeping five, with an owners cabin located at midships.  The 475 will also feature a captains berth by pilot house.  The main deck will offer a living area wit an open style galley.  The raised pilot house is four steps up from the saloon, and in usual Nordhavn offers a layout worthy of a small ship with the distinctive Portuguese bridge and two exits doors to each side.  Its extended cockpit and lengthened deck provides a streamlined sleek look that’s becoming the signature of modern Nordhavns.  The first Nordavn 475 is expected to launch in 2018 and the first unit has already been sold.

New Model: Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot

It's a different kind of Nordhavn the 59 Coastal Pilot, but yet a model which technically does not go much far out from the usual schematics of the far East builder. Yes the 59 Coastal Pilot has the difference of being a semi displacement yacht, and also for having two Cummins 715hp engines in its engine room. But yet the 59 Coastal Pilot is all about Nordhavn and long passage cruising more then you think, see large fuel and water tanks. The 59 Coastal Pilot is an interesting semi displacement explorer yacht with a full living on the main deck, and a lower deck offered with three or two cabins layout. The 59 Coastal Pilot also looks at latest design trend details, like the astern galley, and a separate stair case entrance to the full beam master stateroom.  The three cabin versions also presents itself as an interesting spacious berth alternative with the possibility of having eight berths, which is attractively spacious for seventeen meters.

Project: Nordhavn 96

Pacific Asian Enterprises has expanded the Nordhavn line with the addition of the brand new 96. With three hulls already sold, this new design looks to serve as a stepping stone between the large cruiser and super-yacht categories. For the enthusiast who is seeking super-yacht like style and features in a boat that is still able to be managed with no or minimal crew, the Nordhavn 96 is the ideal solution.  She is based on the hull of the very successful Nordhavn 86, and incorporates a three meters hull cockpit extension that allows for space bumps in several areas of the boat including the crew area, saloon and sky lounge. Additional room is also found within the outside deck, aft of the sky lounge as well as the flybridge, which are both lengthened. Chief of Design, Jeff Leishman, N.A., said there will be no changes to fuel capacity and that there may be slight gains in fuel burn due to the N96’s longer water line. Meanwhile, there will be relatively little increase in displacement.  The Nordhavn 96 is an efficient way to give a customer the additional space they are seeking without the drastic cost of building an entirely new hull. Nordhavn has employed this method of thinking with several of its other models including the N52 based on the N47, the N60 and 63 based on the N55, the N68 based on the N64, and the N76 based on the N72, and the approach has been a hugely successful one. The stretched out models proved themselves to be so advantageous that, as a result, they have become more popular than their predecessors. And contrary to a recently published report, there is absolutely zero downside to adding hull extensions. Like the N86, the interior of the Nordhavn 96 is customize able to the owner’s personal vision. She accommodates eight comfortably within the VIP and three guest staterooms, and includes a captain’s cabin and crew quarters with separate entrance. She is propelled with twin Caterpillar 1015hp engines allowing a cruising speed of 10 knots and carries more than 26000 liters of fuel.
