A Sea Ray sport yacht of sixteen meters in length with five persons onboard ended atop a sand bar in Jewfish Key Island in Longboat Key, Florida at about 15:00 hours of Sunday third August. The yacht was reported to have dragged anchor, during a sudden thunder storm which hit the area. TowBoatU.S Florida Gulf Coast Captain Ken assisted the yacht and towed it to deep waters. Following the removal the yacht was able to move with it's own power. No injuries and probably also no damage was reported, as the yacht ended on a soft sand bar. This story was reported on Captain's Ken, Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services YouTube page.
The Sea Ray in this accident is a 55 Sundancer as produced from 2008 to 2009. The 55 Sundancer was a replacement to the 52 Sundancer, with the model replaced by the 580 Sundancer.
