Two boats went ablaze at Spinnaker Drive marina, Sandstone Point, Queensland on the early hours of Thursday ten June 2021. A dog owned by the skipper of the second boat alerted the boater and saved his life. The Queensland Police Service are suspecting arson in the fire, as a classic sportfish boat went ablaze first, with this then setting ablaze the house boat were the dog and the skipper were sleeping. No one was injured in the fire.
The boat in this fire is a classic Hatteras 41 Convertible Yacht Fish as designed by Jack Hargraves and produced from 1960 to 63. The 41 Convertible Yacht Fish was Hatteras debut boat, replaced by the 41 Convertible Series I.
