New Launch: Cantiere Delle Marche One-Off 43

Cantiere delle Marche have in July 2024 launched the fully custom One-off 43. Called Project B2 during construction, One-Off 43 has the characteristics of a purebred explorer yacht and is the third fully custom construction from Cantiere delle Marche following Crowbridge in 2022 and Audace in 2019. Her exterior lines by Francesco Paszkowski boast an elegant, awe-inspiring beauty, with the right equilibrium between comfortable interior living spaces and the build and technical reliability to take on the seas, and the confidence to sail head-on into remote destinations. An imposing explorer yacht, One-Off 43 strikes a distinctive pose as Paszkowski designed grand exterior deck spaces so guests can relax in a number of outdoor spots designed to offer maximum privacy while creating the feeling of openness and uninterrupted living spaces. Her bright interiors also designed by Paszkowski exude a refined elegance, combining sophistication with an inviting, unpretentious atmosphere. On the main deck, thanks to a wide body configuration from midship forward, four large suites, almost identical in size and features, are at guests’ disposal. Two more guest cabins are located on the Lower deck amidships. Eight crew members benefit from very large and well-appointed quarters on the lower deck forward. The Captain’s cabin is located on the Upper deck next to the wheelhouse. Tender and jet-skis are stored on the Upper deck forward while a chase boat is at owners’ and guest disposal for coastal exploration and comfortable transfers from the yacht ashore and vice versa. To further enhance guests’ comfort, a large beach club with sauna and hammam is located to the far aft of the lower deck, next to the large swim platform, where there is also a day head. With a robust and overengineered displacement steel hull and light aluminium superstructure, Cantiere delle Marche One-Off 43 has a displacement of around 440t. Her naval architecture which ensures excellent seakeeping and frugal fuel consumption, has been designed by Hydro Tec. Twin Caterpillar 1000hp and a 60000-litre fuel tanks allow a top speed of 14 knots and a range above 5000nm at 10 knots; this means she is able to sail far and wide with no need to stop for refuelling.

Project: Overmarine Mangusta Oceano 52

Overmarine present the Mangusta Oceano 52 project. Jointly developed by Overmarine's Engineering Department and designer Alberto Mancini, the Oceano 52 comes as a replacement to the Oceano 50 which launched in 2021 and has been delivered in six units.  For this new Oceano 52, Mancini brings the design features implemented on the latest Mangusta Oceano 39 and Oceano 44, which launched in 2022 and 2023 respectively. The Oceano 52 will be a modern super yacht, were form and function take on a cutting-edge style, with solutions that ensure a constant visual contact with the sea and preserve the concept of space and freedom of movement. The project team's in-depth design research has resulted in a vessel whose modularity means the Owner can enjoy the space they dream of for themselves and their ‘inner circle’, experiencing cruising at best and exploring new destinations. This means being able to adapt and customise even more. Every Mangusta Oceano 52 can therefore be truly considered as a one-off yacht relying on world-class technical characteristics, in line with Overmarine's long-standing tradition in the construction of yachts which successfully combine tradition, innovation, and quality.  Thanks to an in-depth study of glazed surfaces and technical solutions aimed at making all decks obstacle-free, onboard lifestyle on this vessel is comparable to that normally found on a larger sixty metre super yacht. A constant visual contact between indoor and outdoor areas is ensured everywhere across the yacht, especially on the main deck, which is almost entirely made of glass, particularly in the aft area, where all storage trunks have been moved outside. A deck above the rest express a new feature introduced with the Mangusta Oceano 52, what is a master stateroom located on the upper deck and facing forward, thereby enjoying half circle views on the horizon. Floor-to-ceiling windows let daylight flood the owner stateroom, from which is also a private outer deck, where the real protagonist is the large ‘Mangusta Signature’ infinity pool; from here, a convenient staircase leads down to the patio lounge on the main deck, an extremely versatile area that can easily be converted from gym area to lounge area.  Two guest/VIP suites have been arranged on the main deck, where the master stateroom would normally be found. This means that these VIP cabins benefit from a privileged position, unmatched brightness and wonderful views, making time spent indoors even more pleasant. The lower deck hosts four more guest cabins. The entire project and all design solutions revolve around the Owner; see-through materials, glazed surfaces and open spaces combine to obtain the perfect layout, allowing guests to always experience the pleasure of onboard life.  The first unit of the Mangusta Oceano 52 is currently under construction at Overmarine Group's shipyard in Pisa, to be build in steel and aluminium with a displacement shape hull and under 500 Gross Tonnage.  The Mangusta Oceano 52 is to be powered by twin MTU 1700hp for a top speed of seventeen knots, and a range up to 4500 nautical miles.

New Model: Zeelander 8

Zeelander Yachts has added its new flagship to its collection, following the launch of the 8 model.  It is a significant moment for the boutique yacht builder that just builds a handful of yachts every year to discerning clients, in a range which starts at fifty feet and goes up to this new eighty feet flagship. The Zeelander 8 is the largest yacht ever built by Zeelander, but it is also a close development of the existing product line, which starts with the fifteen meter Zeelander 5.  A pocket super sport yacht which just measures eighty foot at length over all the Zeelander 8 is designed by Cor D. Rover who sports the now known voluptuous classic yet modern lines of the Dutch yacht builder. Every Zeelander model is a work of art in a state of constant evolution. So, for all the family resemblance, the new Zeelander 8 has a prominent flowing shearline. Its gracefully raked stern and wrap-around windscreen will be familiar to admirers of the brand, and you will struggle to find a plain, straight line anywhere about the exterior. It is a testament to the design team that the Zeelander 8 shares the same perfect proportions as its smaller sisters, despite that impressive length, designer Cor D. Rover’s experienced touch is evident, alongside that of Zeelander’s dedicated in-house designers. At deck-level, the extra volume means more space for both a dedicated relaxing area and a large dining table with wrap-around seating. Then, below deck, there is a spacious full-beam owner’s cabin amidships plus two further guest doubles, all with ensuite bathrooms. While the Zeelander 8 is still conceived as a joy for the owner to drive, it is to be expected that additional service may also be desired, consequently at the bow of the yacht is two crew cabins sleeping three persons, located a separate entrance that ensures complete privacy for the owner and guests.  No description of the Zeelander 8 would be complete without evoking the curvaceous appeal of the aft deck, with deeply padded leatherette seats cocoon their occupants around a high gloss table. The transom is again classic Zeelander in the 8 flagship with more space and room as it swings open to expand into a huge twelve square metre bathing platform, essentially a private beach club, suspended invitingly above the water also as this area is not disturbed by a tender, which has its own dedicated garage amidships, running the full beam of the yacht and with a port side exit-entry door.  Owners know their minds when it comes to the details of their Zeelander, that is why the 8, but also the smaller models of the Dutch builder are customizable as possible in all key areas; from the aft deck, saloon, and guest cabins, along with all fittings and furniture customizations, can be tailored to individual preferences.  The Zeelander 8 is powered by quadruple Volvo 900hp or optional 1000hp IPS pod drive propulsion set up.  With the large engines the Zeelander 8 reaches a top speed of forty knots, and can cruise at 32 knots.

Project: Pershing GTX70

Pershing continues to expand its GTX range as it follows the GTX116 and GTX80 with the project for a smaller 21 meter GTX70 to come in 2025.  Like the GTX80 which came this year, the Pershing GTX70 comes again from a design of Vallicelli, who followed similar clean lines and concept to the ten foot larger sister.  Vallicelli seems to have been given design duties of Pershing sports utility yacht GTX line, after 38 years of dedicated design duties by Fulvio de Simoni, which also includes the first GTX 116.  Like the 2024 arrived three meters bigger sister the GTX70 will feature an expandable beach area with drop down side bulkheads, a sport bridge, and a fore deck lounge sun-pad with entry from starboard. Some options exist for the exterior, from an aft sun-pad, to three helm chairs in replacement to the bench settee, and closable entry to the fore deck sun-pad.  The accommodation layout of the Pershing GTX70 is an astern galley central dinette layout, and a central located helm station forward.  Lower deck accommodation offers three cabins, with a full beam midships master stateroom, VIP suite forward, and third guest cabin with twin berths in between.  A single berth crew cabin with fore deck entry is located forward.  The Pershing GTX70 will be powered by triple Volvo 900hp with IPS pod drives for top speed estimates up to 35 knots, and a cruise of thirty.

Explorer Cruiser Collides Into Florida St. Augustine Bridge

An explorer cruiser of thirteen meters in length titled m/y Bright Side collided and got stuck with the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine, Florida on the early afternoon of Sunday tenth November.  The explorer cruiser just did not make it because of its mast, but also because it tried to pass under the bridge on a high tide.  Other unconfirmed reports say the bridge also has its air-draft markings damaged following the recent hurricanes and storms, and these have not yet been fixed yet.  As of the early evening of the day Bright Side was still stuck with the bridge. This Bridge of Lions collision follows that of the Nao Trinidad classic Spanish schooner which lost power, and collided with the same bridge thirteen days ago.
M/y Bright Side the explorer cruiser in this collision is a 2005 Kadey-Krogen 44.  Produced from 2002 to 2011 in 26 units, the 44 came out as a replacement to the 42, the model which debuted Kadey-Krogen in 1977, and was replaced and evolved into the 44 AE in 2012.

New Model: Fiart P52

Debuting in 2022 with the P54 which has been renamed as P58 this year, Fiart continue to expand what it calls its Custom Luxury Boat line and presents the P52 model, which as the larger unit is also designed by Stefano Pastrovich.  Announced as a P48 project back in 2022, Pastrovich follows similar design and layout themes to the larger P58 model.  It is different also a bit unusual but it also works well for both the main and lower deck, with both the Fiart P52 and P58 giving complete but also unique stem to stern exterior deck spaces.  An important difference between the larger P52 to the P58 is a fixed bathing platform which can be specified with an optional transformer unit.  The idea of the Fiart Pastrovich yachts is that of a sport yacht which makes the whole open main deck connected yet split in designated areas.  As layout positions goes in the P52 it is all traditional; sun-pad aft, dinette at midships, and a second fore deck sun-pad, this last connected with the central windshield door.  In the Fiart P52 and P58 for that matter all is a bit longer, as no physical barriers exist in between the areas with a small exception being for the windshield.  Down below the Fiart P52 features a luxurious appointed two suites layout, with an owners stateroom at midships.  A lower deck galley is located in between the cabins as you go down from the port side located stairway which takes you to the cabin area.  The Fiart P52 is powered by twin Volvo 600hp with a top speed up to 35 knots and a cruise of thirty.

LOA - 15.92 m (52.2ft)

Bertram Yacht Goes Ablaze in Flamenco Marina Panama

A sixteen meter Bertram yacht titled m/y Condor I went ablaze as it was lying unattended in its berth at Fuerte Amador Resort Marina, Flamenco, Panama around 08:20 morning time of Sunday tenth November.  The Panama Fire Department with its Balboa and Plaza Amador stations intervened for the blaze, towing the yacht out of the marina so that this does not affect other yachts.
